  1. Been saying you got back a reliever who probably won't make postseason roster. Will have to adjust that. I can't remember anything like this trade by any team in baseball. My entire brain hurts on this dumpster fire of a deadline
  2. I used to be a regular here. Surprised to see a bunch of familiar names. Great insights just like I remember. But I hate everything about this trade. This franchise is at the point of openly telling us they promise to strive for mediocrity and we'll like it cuz of the market blah blah blah All those years of mashing all season to be thwarted by a team with pitching like Milwaukee. And we finally have it. And at the deadline we proudly present you a team less one of its marquee stars for a guy not as good, some reliever and 2 guys who might make the majors some day. And not one bat. And you made a likely competitor significantly better by letting it keep all it's major pieces I'm salty right now and maybe I'll look at it differently some day but I'll always think it sucked on some level. Just feels like they want to be good enough to extract $24 a drink while trotting out a completely bland product. If anyone finished this, thanks. Noone I know cares enough to hear me out on this rant. I don't know why this one bugged me so much.
  3. After receiving tickets from Pedro last year, I promised to give back. I got two free tickets through a promotion and I decided to pass them on rather than use them myself. They are in section 319--row 3. Unfortunately, there is no wait staff in this section but there is one section over if there were to be a couple of empty seats. I was on vacation when I got my code so I didn't get in on time to get the best seats but the Club level is still a treat if you've never been. I'm going to leave this open for a day or so. If you're interested, leave a post and I'll draw a name. The winner will get their tickets via email. Good luck. OK--the results are in and John Brew is the winner. I sent you a PM. If he doesn't get back to me in a reasonable amount of time, I have a list of alternates. Thanks all. Keep you eye out--I may be able to do this a couple more times this year.
  4. I received the following email from the Brewers: As a Brewers Season Seat Holder, I received this exclusive online offer that I can share with you. Simply by clicking on one of the three green boxes below, you can get a FREE ticket to one Brewers game versus the Arizona Diamondbacks (June 2-4) when you purchase a ticket to see the Brewers take on the Los Angeles Dodgers (May 13-15). In short, this means you can go to two Brewers games for the price of one. Just determine the Dodgers game you want to attend, click the appropriate green box and enter the password in the box on the next screen. Seat locations available through this special offer include: Terrace Reserved, Terrace Box, Loge Infield and Loge Bleachers. If anyone is interested, PM me and I'll send you the email with the link. For the sake of honesty, I will get 2 free club level seats if someone makes a purchase with my email so if there are other season ticket holders who want a shot with this, I'll only forward the email to one person and we can all share the wealth.
  5. I think Turnbow just moved into the "needs a change of scenery" category.
  6. I too splurged on the superfan package and I don't really know what I used to do before I had it. The game mix channel is probably the most awesome thing I have ever seen. And I agree on the Scully thing. I never enjoyed watching a blowout so much. I didn't see it specifically mentioned the blackout rules apply to all games on Saturday afternoon and Sunday nights. Fox owns rights to all games on Saturdays and ESPN on Sundays so you're stuck watching what they think you want to watch. At least that's how I understand it. Also, sorry if this was already covered.
  7. You know, this is a problem that has exploded over the last couple of years. I've entered into conversations to which I was not invited and have had it end both well and poorly. I don't mind people having other opinions than me but when I plop down next to the guy ripping the tags off all his new Brewer gear, I just close my eyes and know I'm in for a long night. On the subject of other fans, I've found Cardinal fans to be quite enjoyable to watch a game with. I've had good converstations with them in which we educate each other on our prospective teams. And they never yell, "Let's go Cubbies" at random, inopportune times. The absolute worst, though, is having to engage with a conversation at work with someone who has watched like 1 game in the last 3 years and knows I'm a big Brewers fan. I smile and nod but deep down, I just want to run as fast as I can into a wall.
  8. That dude is one of my favorite players. I know there's been pages written about what coulda been but he's just a likeable dude. I went to the game on Tuesday and myself and 4 dudes behind me gave him a round of applause every at bat. 13 million....that's classic.
  9. My favorite boo: After the toss to first. Yes. Boo loudly when the opposing pitcher holds on our fastest player in a 1 run game. Good job. I know they do it everywhere and I've just never understood it.
  10. What strikes me is not necessarily the number of walks but his ball to strike ratio. In 2 games this year, he's thrown 203 pitches. Only 111 of them were strikes. That's 55% And more importantly, they seem to come in bunches which puts pressure on the team without the opponent swinging the bat. And when he "pitches to contact", you tend to need a ticket to get them back. So I'm not overly excited about a guy who tends to throw a lot of balls in a row coming in in the 5th or 6th inning. Just my 2 cents...
  11. hawing--it's funny that you mention that. That hoodie is the only thing she's found that fits and she's also gotten her money's worth as she wears it to EVERY game we go to....hahaha And I think my wife might like to pimp the website. She calls you people my "supersecret Brewers friends" and just loves it when I pop up after every inning to check the IGT. I'll check it out.
  12. I don't know if anyone else's GF or wife is having this problem but: My wife is neither petite nor obese. She is also well endowed. It seems like all the clothes in the fanshop are either so tight in her chest that she looks ridiculous or they're so loose that she looks like a kid wearing her dad's shirt. Most of the stuff in the "women's" section looks like kids clothes to me. She has money burning a hole in her pocket but can't find anything that fits her at MP (trust me, we were there for over 2 hours a couple weeks ago...) Anyone else run into this? The plus sized stuff is way too big and the regular stuff makes her chest look like it's going to rip through at any time. Please help as I can't stand the rants anymore....
  13. Why would you want natural grass when you could have balls bounce 400 feet in the air from bloop singles. I know they've come a long way with that stuff but it's just not the same. It's like implants--they always look good but deep down, you know it's just a sham. Tractor pulls....yeah....that's what's gonna help them put a good team on the field....revenue from tractor pulls. What is this world coming to?
  14. I'm sorry about your misfortune with that. I went with the Sunday plus pack. I've been going to 25 or more games a year for a few years now and finally have the cash to drop on a package and you're making me glad I went with a set location since I can't stand sitting on the 3rd base side on day games in July... They seem to be going more and more in this direction. It reminds me of being in college when some rich frat boys would find your corner hole and make it impossible to get a drink when you've been going there for years. On one hand, I'm glad to see more people in the park but I hate to see this stuff happen to loyal fans. Unfortunately, I don't think loyalty plays into this at all. I guess as long as they're putting a respectable product on the field, this is the kind of stuff we'll have to deal with. While I don't miss the miserable teams, I do kind of miss the days of having 5 rows in either direction to yourself. The worst thing is, like Ewizabeff said, I think alot of these seats will be empty for many of the games.
  15. Good stuff, Geno. I think I'm gonna buy the MLB package as a sort of preventive medicine. It's so calming watching other teams implode that I'm sure it will save my BP from skyrocketing thereby causing me to stroke out. After a bad Brewers loss, I'll just find the Giants or something and all will be right with the world. I see what you're saying with Sheets but Zambrano was filthy on Monday. I hate the dude but when he's on, I love watching him pitch. There. I said it. And I'm not ashamed.
  16. Really? My wife and I talked about it for like a half hour. I had about 7 theories and was looking forward to getting the scoop from here. And I get 3 words. And it was obvious. And why would they sell stuff for a holiday that occurs before the season even starts? Is it going to be red, white and blue in May and July? Black and orange in October? Green and red at Christmas? OK. I'll stop.
  17. I looked around and I couldn't find anything on this but I was at Kohl's the other day and they have a ton of green Brewers gear. Am I missing something? Am I behind the times? Is this just a marketing thing or did I miss a memo? Any help in solving this quandry will be much appreciated.
  18. I have a great love for free t-shirts. And this one will be mine. I'm in.
  19. I'm going to add another name to the "want" list for the schedule. I am willing to pay and I also have some bobbles available.
  20. I like to see everyone picking the Cubs. Many of them picked the Brewers last year and we all saw how that worked out. And like I said before, I'd like to see the Cubs get out to a hot start so the Crew can play with no pressure. The only thing irking me a bit about the national media is the aforementioned lack of credit to other teams in the division. But that being said, there are more Cub fans than Milwaukee and Reds fans combined so it behooves them to focus on the northsiders. But all in all, I'd like to see the Brewers totally left out of the 4 letter network until September when they make their push. When I close my eyes, I can see the Piniella blowups and closeups of Ramirez's face as the Cubs squander a 5 game lead with 20 games to go... Ah...and the closeups of the shocked faces of Cubs fans all across America. I can hear the silence from the drunken masses at Miller Park when Fielder and Braun go back to back jacks in the 9th to deliver the decisive blow to take the division on the final game of the season!! I love the Spring! It's all possible!
  21. After another statistically, yet "gut" based use of the bullpen, Ned peered carefully over the wall to make sure they had all gone. Sadly for him, they hadn't....
  22. I love this stuff. I just hope the national media piles on and they get off to a hot start so Milwaukee can just sit back and play baseball this year. Dempster....(shakes head) For the complete story, go to the Cubs' mlb.com site I'd rather pull my toenails out with a pliars.
