  1. I believe it may have stopped on June 30th--i'm not sure about that. The ticket is good for a Terrace Reserved voucher on any Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday game up until August 1st. I can also be used for a discount towards a better seat.
  2. All right. I have to head out to dinner. No TVs... Here's to hoping my inattention will help them out as I normally obsess.
  3. Actually, I like that for an avatar. YOU'RE MY BOY BILLY! Now win one for your fallen comrade!

  5. I've already benefitted from the free tickets so I'm not entering this one but I just want to let you know how awsome it I think it is that you do this. Pedro: Making the world a better place for Brewers fans!
  6. I'd also be interested in taking any of the above that are available, specifically a Driver photo. Thanks!
  7. For what it's worth, the 4 letter network has him listed as "out indefinately" I watched SC this morning to see the injury and they didn't even make mention of it in the game recap...just in the ticker on the bottom. If he only played in NY, we would have seen it from 13 angles and had 10 minutes of discussion of it's impact.
  8. If there's any way to burn a thread, I'd be in on that...http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  9. The one thing about Hall is that he jumps at balls he has absolutely no chance of catching. I saw him leap for a ball in the Houston series that landed on the concourse. Now I don't play MLB and I don't know what a player sees when going back on a ball but if you watch a ball fly that you can't get, you walk away. If you jump and land funny, you get carried away.
  10. Here's some semi-flame bait: If Hall wasn't so preoccupied with making a dramatic, flashy play would he have been injured? This came up in another thread but I thought it would inspire some interesting conversation while keeping the other thread on subject. I want to see the effort. It's hard to tell a guy not to try hard only in certain situations. If I'm not mistaken, though, I thought I heard Billy say he wanted to rob just 1 HR this year and that was what popped in my mind immediately upon learning of the injury.
  11. I gave myself the "day off" from the Brewers. I didn't listen or follow on the computer per usual. I figured that would help the boys out. I come home and look and what do I see? My boys lose and I lose my boy! Without Hall, there is no president. Without the president, we have anarchy. ANARCHY! Until Hall retakes the field, my avatar will remain black.
  12. This actually came up earlier in the year when he was crashing into walls all the time. I've been worried about this for a while. I don't think it's out of line. Probably deserving of it's own thread as I imagine the thoughts would be plentiful on this subject.
  13. It is and it isn't. The Cubs are hot now but I just don't think that pitching staff is going to keep them aournd all year. Especially if the starters don't go 6 or more on a regular basis. Their lineup can hit but it will go through slumps and they will lose large chunks of games at a time. It'll be big if the Crew loses the next 6 and the Cubs win them. Otherwise, I don't think it will stand out much later in the season.
  14. I HATE the doorman. I hate anyone who has the time and resources to sit at every game in great seats with authentic gear on! How is that fair? Seriously, I get a kick out of him. I'm extremely jealous but it's nice that our unofficial mascot simply "shows people the door" and doesn't do something obnoxious or is obscene. I feel your vent though. I've sat many a night with my replica jersey on my couch staring longingly at his seats...
  15. The only factor that I see missing in fan perception is contract size. This is obviously affecting Suppan. He is as advertised up to this point. He is performing, IMO, exactly how he should be. But when there's a big contract involved, you're suddenly never supposed to lose again.
  16. Nicely drawn up there. Another thing to keep me awake at night. Last year, they had that those 2 series against the Royals and Pirates where everyone thought they could make up some ground. I really don't see that happening and I don't see a repeat of what you've drawn up here though if it happens, I'll blame it entirely on you.
  17. I just got home from work and I realize noone will probably read this but this is the line of the year right here. I actually laughed out loud. I needed that. Oh yeah--that game sucked.
  18. You know, I actually don't care about this anymore. I feel free of chains. After seeing him in 2 games at MP last week, I just let it go. I was so angry and resentful about this but now I just want him to get it over with so we can finish the season talking about actual baseball.
  19. I just got home from working at a psych hospital. One of the patients is a HUGE Cubs fan. She's crabby all the time but it was nice to see her smile and enjoy something. I really wanted to vent but I checked it out and it's worn out over there. This is the best I could do. At the end of the day, it's just another game.
  20. A few years ago, I would have said 500 dingers but with all the whirlwind around juiced balls and players, I now am more impressed with 3000 hits. All of the controversey has cheapend home run numbers. I'd just like to have a shirt that said "Mr. 3000"
  21. I've been watching this team for a long time. I've sat and watched decent starts fittered away as a season progresses. I've watched as great players were traded away as they came into their own. But now, I see something new. I see something that gets me excited. Yes, they're having a good season. But beyond the current team, I see a plethora of prospects. I see an owner who wants to win. I see a fanbase willing to come to the park. I see a resurgance of Brewers baseball. As someone who can't afford a big ticket package, I'm getting squezzed out by the casual fan. At first, this upset me but I embrace it now. I'm not sure where I'm going with this but the fact that I've seen multiple discussions on this board about how to manage the bullpen and lineup gets me giddy. This is the first time in a while that I can remember that this team has OPTIONS. I may watch many games on FSN rather than in the park where I'd rather be but I love the fact that the tide seems to be turning. This is much longer than I had intended. That is all.
  22. Every time I watch an interleague game, I try to convince myself how I feel about the DH. Sometimes I love the fact that you can just put your big players out there and let them swing. Little srategy. Then I watch the minute details of a NL game and really enjoy watching how a manager deals with the pitchrer's spot, double switches, etc. I guess I'd like to see it spread out over the course of the year a little more but I love interleague play and think it's one of Selig's better moves.
  23. I was at the first Astros game this year when Carlos was back. I stood and cheered to no avail when he was announced. By and large, I think that people who fill the stadium are uniformed. I will boo someone who gives up when they shouldn't. I DID boo Lee on his solo dinger the other night (out of respect) But by and large, the majority of people in the stadium at any give time have little knowldege of the game. Anyone who follows the Crew knows that Lee would have been an idiot to sign with this team and they also know that he played hard when he was here. I cheer him every time he is announced. As far as Turnbow, people have heard the term Turnblow. Again, the fans are misinformed. Ignore it. To figure it out will frustrate you. Just boo responsibly. That's all I ask.
  24. I was there on Monday and was very disappointed to see him out of the lineup. Great to see. Congrats to a classy ballplayer.
  25. sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?section=mlb&id=2919809 Another Fielder article. Similar to others but I always enjoy a good read on Fielder.
