  1. I actaully heard it when it was first reported by WSSP on my way to the game. Cliffy came out and said that there was "breaking news about a major trade involving the Milwaukee Brewers" He then said they were working to confirm it. They specifically mentioned that it was reported by a radio guy in Cincinatti as reported on BF.net. Didn't sound like blame at that time. Didn't hear the whole post game show though...
  2. rluzinski, I love your ability to strategically shred just about any argument. I'm new to this site this year so I can't imagine what you did in the past but seeing you dismantle arguments (including mine on occasion) is wildly entertaining. I think there's a 59% chance that you shred this post!
  3. Well, it made for some interesting conversation at the ballpark today. Way to go BF.net!
  4. Now we're also the team most in need of making a trade come deadline time due to our lack of starting pitching...
  5. I talked about this all day at the park. It sounded official as I got out of my car today. When I heard T-bow and Wise, I knew it wasn't real but I'd love to see Dunn hitting 5. From the CI side, looks like they've been through this before. Sounds like there's something working though....
  6. If Rickie has been anything, he has been a good FB hitter. Tonight, he looked lost in an AB where he saw nothing but FBs. His front leg was moving more than an Irishman doing a jig. Oh yeah, and it was bent as the pitch came across. He's totally lost right now. This is the first time I'm saying this since Weeks came up--Milwaukee, we have a problem. (Bad line? Yes. But it fits)
  7. Screw respect! Milwaukee will never get it. Cue: "Small market team" line. The Cubs are playing out of their mind--and they're still behind. The Brewers are stinking the joint up--and they're still ahead. The Brewers just played 2 series against reasonably good squads while the Cubs played the punching bags of the MLB. The Brewers will get respect when WS rings are being slipped on to their fingers. Not before. I want them to lose the lead. I want everyone to proclaim them dead so when the Cubs cool down they charge back up and take a 7 game lead. JC! HS! Where's the Tylenol!?
  8. Dude, I feel your pain. I, too, have left a losing game to find my grill jacked. Makes you want to stick somebody, doesn't it.

  10. Here's an update: I have a source outside of MP who reported that ball will land in about 3 minutes....
  11. Ned should've made sure the outfield turf was in good shape. I blame this on him.
  12. Guys you just have to go with SgtClueLs and his Mench Boo-ing. Its kinda like a reverse jinx mo-jo type of thing. It's worked great these past few weeks. Capuano? BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
  13. You heard it right. In...ter...es...ting....
  14. OK--watching the Cubs game today and they had a spot with Kerry Wood's wife about a charity thing. They're selling a urinal signed by the team. I love baseball and "game used" memorabilia but I think this is across the line of going too far. Wow. Is there anything they won't buy? They even added how it was "right inside the tunnel" and that it has "been used by all the great players who have come through here"
  15. It snuck through the infield and he had to hold up to make sure it got through. Probably should have been an out.
  16. ESPN is doing to itself what MTV did to itself long ago. The previous poster was right on--it's not about good sports info anymore--you can get that anywhere. But Who's Now? Only on ESPN.

  18. I'm not positive but I believe I saw this jersey for 100 on Friday.

  20. I'm selling these for my sister so only cash offers accepted. Please PM me with offers. She wants to put them on Ebay but I want to try to get them to someone here first.
  21. For the record, I've been neither a Nedley fan or detractor but since the break, I really like what he's done. I kind of like the attitude in the press conference in the last game prior to the break. In the second game back, he managed the pitching staff weill with Gallardo and made a tough decision to PH for Weeks. Today, he hooked Suppan right away. Granted, I may not be saying this if Graffy strikes out but I thought it took some stones to sit Ricky there and his loyalty to his guys has been too strong at times. Seeing that he's bashed for every bad move he's made (and I've been there for some), I think it's important to point out when he does well.
  22. I'm late on this but it's pretty blatant. Granted, it was a scorcher off the wall but definately not a HR. I HATE the "This one counts" junk. Something like this little play could become huge for a team later on and I hate to see home field advantage go to a team who doesn't have the best record. But I digress.
  23. This whole conversation is kind of funny to me and reading the posts, I don't know where I fit in. I followed them closely growing up (mid 80's through mid 90's). I moved out of state in the mid 90's and totally lost touch, partially because of the strike. I moved back to Milwaukee in 2000 and started going to a few games. Every year, the number of games I went to increased. I remember D'Amico. I remember thinking Kolb was THE MAN. I love Junior Spivey and I remember the first at bat of Corey Hart (a long foul ball to left, right?) Anyways, I was aggrivated at first because I was used to sitting where I wanted when I wanted and now I'm crowded out by people who love "Cecil Fielder" But butts in the seats are good. Not everyone can be a die hard.
  24. Yeah--the actual game totally sucked. On a night like last night, you have to find positives elsewhere. it was just a really fun night and noone where I work cares. If there's one thing I'm picking up from this site, it's to let go of the extreme highs and lows as a fan and simply enjoy the ride no matter which way it goes. And if you've never done the TGIF thing, it's a fun experience and worth the money.
  25. I know noone really cares but I'm about to brag. We got there early and my mom said, "Which one do you want?" It was the powder blue Simmons. She gave it to me without hesitation. We got to our seats early which were TGIF seats in LF. Shortly after sittng down, Taylor Buchholz trotted out and picked up a ball. He glanced up at me and I said, "Ball me". He tossed the ball to me which seemed to hang forever but came to rest gently in my hands. Around the 6th, I looked up and saw Mayor Barret standing directly behind me: http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x202/bwucinski/2.jpg I'm almost 30 and this was the first time I walked away from a game with a ball, let alone a picture with the Mayor. GO CREW.
