  1. How do you quatify that? And if a team has 40% more talent, why aren't they up by that percentage. I like Stone but this is kind of a stupid comment to me. Say they're better or say they're more experienced...whatever. I wouldn't necessarily argue with you because it doesn't matter. The team with the best record at the end of the season wins the division.
  2. Welcome back Woogster! I was just getting to know you and you....were.....gone...... If you want to get Braun out of his mini-slump, PUT HIM BACK IN THE 3 HOLE!!!!!! "Let's see. Braun's crushing the ball and Prince has 39 dingers. Hmm....I need to shake that up a little bit. I might be able to get 1 more stolen base out of this this year." HE CAN'T STEAL IF HE'S IN THE DUGOUT SHAKING HIS HEAD! Oh..and go Parra! That's my last ounce of negativity tongiht. I wanted to get it out now.
  3. I absolutely hate Fielder 3 and Braun 4. I don't know why it bothers me so much but it was working really well and I didn't see any need to tinker with it. Everything about Braun screams a 3 hitter to me and everything about Fielder screams 4 hitter to me. Braun may be one of the best hitters to come out of this era some day but right now he gets a little jumpy and has a tendency to chase pitches out of the zone in big spots. I think he does much better with Prince protecting him than vice versa. Prince has taken some pretty bad swings the last few games but he is normally a guy that'll take his walks. I realize this is all a little nit picky and please don't point out Braun's double to me. I didn't say he never gets hits but I think he is a BETTER hitter in the 3 hole.
  4. Here's my shot. Once, a long, long time ago We were told, "This is how it goes" As I watched our Central lead dwindle I glanced at the dugout to see if a fire kindled As I watched Johnny beat Ned down I asked myself, "Who is this clown" Right then he came out to the mound "You got enough left?" he said with a frown He left his guy in for one more batter 6-0 leads are sure to get fatter "Stay the course," Ned said with a smile The day the Brewers died Bye bye another ball on the fly Ned went back to the bullpen But the bullpen went dry All the fans get drunk, sit around and cry Why Ned, why oh why? I say Why Ned, why oh why?
  5. Did anyone see that a journalist actually did this song in the Kenosha News like a month ago. It was "bye, bye playoff chance in July" I'm gonna try and find it.
  6. Seriously, H4P, that's what this forum is all about, right? The venting? It sure beats kicking your pet, or REALLY abusing alcohol. Uh...the venting is nice and all but the alcohol and kicking are what really make me feel better. Suddenly I feel like I'm not getting everything I'm supposed to out of this site. I wasn't going to post this in blue but I just know there'd be that "couple of people" who wouldn't see the humor in that post unless I made it obvious.
  7. Can you be in 2 stages at the same time? I'm angry that I have to accept this.....AGAIN. Should I go "talk" to someone about this?
  8. Anything from tonight's game?
  9. I see the probable pitchers on Brewers.com is still blank for W & Th. They still thinking he'll be back for one of those? I can't find any new, good info. Anything?
  10. Here's a forum for everyone who wants to lay out how the season will end. It's the only "official" place the haters can come back and say they told us and where the lovers can lay out unrealistic and dreamy stretch runs. As of the time of this posting, there are 32 games left and the Brewers are .500. How's it gonna end? (added tags --1992)
  11. He did! In July! I can't remember the game and it was right at the end of the press conference. But he extended the oo. He said, "Everything is grrooooooovvvvvvyyy." and made like a wave motion with his hand. Can't believe more people didn't see that...
  12. today he just seemed lost That could probably be said about everyone involved with the Brewers on any level today. I'm glad he didn't come out with the classic "Everything is groovy" stuff.
  13. I believe I wish I had naivin's beliefs! I believe it will be at least an entertaining race the rest of the way.
  14. Looks like it's a good thing I have to work early for the SF series. Gonna be interesting if we go into Chicago licking our wounds. I gotta hit the sack. I'm too tired to watch this tonight. PLEASE let me pull up a win tomorrow. Offense looks lost and we're digging into the bullpen. Sweet. *sigh
  15. Woot! Hawing--Z did not have a tantrum. He looked dazed and confused to answer your question. I've noticed he doesn't seem to blow up outwardly as much as he used to. It's internal. More fun for me.
  16. Am I just biased or are the Cubs announcers on WGN bigger homers than usual? It seems like all the credit goes to the Cubs. I know there are those that don't like Shroeder but he at least, to me, points out the good and bad both ways and will say something is lucky when it is. Anyone feel me on this one or is it just that I hate the Cubs so much?
  17. Now let's see the old Zambrano meltdown!

  19. I didn't know he was a UGA grad. I like him even more now!
  20. How bout an IGT started by someone who has never done it? And the topic of conversation? <-----------Favorite college football team. GO DAWGS (I'm an alumn--please forgive me) I'm grasping at straws here, people. Help me out. Hope I'm not out of line starting this. I'm expecting about 7 posts tonight. I hate myself for still having hope but.... BEAT.....THE.......D-BACKS (added year and game time to thread title --1992)
  21. I'm with you BHF. I'm actually considering changing my name. I'm giving him the rest of the year but this could be my main offseason move. He is what he is as a hitter but I've had it with the HR admiration--not to mention the admiration of balls that bounce off the wall. I haven't seem him take that easy, opposite field swing that I loved so much since before his injury. He's not a pull hitter and he's trying to be one so he can admire his shots. I still am a huge Bill Hall fan. I have a signed pink bat, both bobbles, a jersey and jersey shirt as well as a political endorsement as a name on this site. I would love nothing more than to see him revert back to the player who busted his hump every day and worked his way back into a productive #5 hitter.
  22. Thanks for the updates--I'm having trouble with all the gametrackers--ESPN, MLB, Yahoo--they're all showing me 5-0... Annoying.
  23. Thanks--Billy pull that ball to left after working the count or get lucky? I hate when he turns on one cause that usually means a bunch of Ks and weak grounders to 2nd are coming...
