Forever stupid that they did this

I'm sorry but you just shouldn't be making a comparison of May 8th attendance average to full season attendance average. If you want to make a comparison it needs to be to attendance numbers at this point in previous years. Also because you're not from Wisconsin maybe you just aren't as familiar with this but the Brewers are far more of a state team than a Milwaukee team. Brewers play in the smallest metro in the MLB with many people in the Racine/Kenosha area south of Milwaukee being Cubs fans. Early in the season when the weather isn't great and school is in session the Brewers attendance typically doesn't look good. As the school year ends attendance typically starts to improve.

Courtesy of his instagram, it looks like Jorge Quintana's first stateside HR tonight came off the bat at 108mph

Now we get Wenderlyn King's stateside debut!

He came back out for one batter in the 5th and got a flyout on 4 pitches. 4.1 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 6 SO 63 pitches, 42 strikes 6 called strikes, 14 whiffs (34 swings)

Gave up a leadoff single in the 4th then went flyout, strikeout, flyout. 4 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 6 SO 59 pitches, 40 strikes 6 called strikes, 14 whiffs (34 swings)

    1-2-3 3rd with a flyout and two lineouts. 50 pitches, 34 strikes 6 called strikes, 12 whiffs (28 swings)

    Struck out the side in inning 2. 2 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 SO 38 pitches, 25 strikes 5 called strikes, 12 whiffs (20 swings) That's a 60% whiff rate and 45% CSW rate

Well first inning was something! Looks like tonight has pitch data again. 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 SO 22 pitches, 13 strikes If the numbers are correct he had 9 whiffs on 13 swings.

It's not an age crutch. You're just being hyperbolic and overly critical. I've watched most of Made's games at SS and you're over exaggerating about how frequently he looks bad there. For perspective on the age difference. Made won't play a professional game being at least the age Pratt was during Pratt's full season debut until minor league opening day in 2027. When Pratt was Made's age he was just about to start his senior year of high school and was 11 months from even being drafted.
  11. Lucas O.
You've also never seen Pratt play baseball for the Brewers as a 17 year old. Pratt was 4 months from turning 20 during his first streamed game as a Brewer.
  12. Lucas O.
Yeah this is just way too harsh to Made who is nearly 3 years younger than Pratt.
  13. Lucas O.
Yeah it's listed as a double but that was absolutely a single and an error. Should be an unearned run for Torres.

They didn't. That pitch was developed this offseason by the White Sox. They wanted him to add a changeup and gave him a couple of grip suggestions. He found one that worked and boom there it was. It was the first thing they did after they drafted him.

You are speaking my language with that second part. Around implies you're back where you started. Through implies everyone batted.
  16. Lucas O.
With the win today both scoring first and allowing 2 or fewer runs, the Brewers move to 15-0 when allowing 2 or fewer runs and 18-6 when scoring first.

Now hold on there @sveumrules...striking out the side is when you strike out all the hitters you face in an inning. Please tell me you're not one of the ones who thinks 3 strikeouts in an inning is striking out the side.

I was going by trades Arnold made. He only made 1 of those trades. Chafin trade didn't work out but Strzelecki wasn't good either so that trade was just meh. The other 3 were Stearns so I don't know why that would be relevant.

Jadyn Fielder hits a HR to right center in his first pro AB. Cool moment for him!

Him transitioning to a pitcher really has nothing to do with it. I get you love to do the whole contrarian spiel but you're way off here. The Brewers did Erceg a solid because they didn't think he was good enough to be rostered at the end of the season. That showed pretty clearly to be a mis-evaluation of Erceg's talent considering Erceg immediately went to MLB and had good underlying numbers. It's a clear miss.
  21. Lucas O.
I'm well aware of Erceg's history. Also you're underselling Erceg . He was good in AAA in 2022 then got off to a slow start in 2023. Him being a minor league FA is irrelevant because they could have added him to the 40 to prevent that from happening. It was just an evaluation miss same as with Shane Smith.
  22. Lucas O.
I mean they traded away someone who had a really good season for someone that is already out of the org. Erceg I get the context but it was still a missed evaluation of his talent. They would have never traded him away if they thought he would be as good as he has been especially as quickly as he was.
  23. Lucas O.
I mean yeah pretty easily. Good Acquisitions - Peguero, Payamps, Wilson, Megill, Patrick, Hudson, Civale, Mears, Anderson (so far) Bad trade away - Topa and Erceg The good has so far pretty heavily outweighed the bad in terms of good acquisitions and bad trade aways.

I just realized today that Wisconsin has had a ridiculous schedule to start the season. All 27 of their games have been against the top 4 teams in the Midwest League so far this season. 9 vs Cedar Rapids who are 17-9 6 vs Quad Cities who are 18-8 6 vs Lansing who are 16-11 6 vs West Michigan who are 17-10 So while their 11-16 record isn't good the +1 run differential and schedule difficulty might mean they could go on a run here in May when their schedule softens up.

Arnold's hit rate on trading for pitchers has been pretty good to this point so hopefully that continues.
