  1. One of my 3 desired backup catchers is now off the board. Tom Murphy to the Giants. 2/$8M.
  2. Gardner with 3 strikeouts in 2 innings...wow he's fallen off.
  3. Chapman is never signing a 2 year deal. Likely going to need at least 4 to get him. MLBTR has him estimated for 6/$150M
  4. Orioles just don't seem likely. Elias is way too much of a prospect hugger to give up a big haul for a rental.
  5. Now the deal hinging on Glasnow signing at extension likely adds value for Glasnow but Burnes and Adames would have never been on the table for an offer that week.
  6. Why are people arguing about a rumor Heyman confirmed was not real?
  7. Very doubtful. Burnes and Adames are WAY more valuable than Glasnow and Margot. I don't think BTV is an exact science but it generally does pretty good job. They have Burnes and Adames worth almost $35M more surplus value than Glasnow and Margot.
  8. They landed Correa. Giants pulled the accepted offer after the physical.
  9. Clarke signed a deal to avoid arbitration for $1.25M about a month ago.
  10. Only $3M guaranteed for a proven two way MLB stud. Sad day for the MLB.
  11. Mitchell was on a rehab assignment so yeah it made sense Chourio would get bumped to RF for him.
  12. I'm just glad I learned that teams decide which OF play where based on their bat and not their fielding prowess.
  13. I don't think Brewers decide who is playing in CF based on their hitting ability...
  14. Why is Frelick a better fit in CF for now?
  15. They shouldn't have been allowed to say yes or no because the CBA shouldn't have allowed this. You can bet the next CBA will get rid of this.
  16. Because Garrett Mitchell was in CF....
  17. This deal also sucks for players because now teams might weaponize the Ohtani contract in negotiations.
  18. Only $460M or $46M a year will count towards the luxury tax. This is just a blatant attempt to skirt the luxury tax and allow the Dodgers to spend more money now to help their team without going over the tax.
  19. Ohtani is deferring $68M of the $70M annually according to the Athletic. I have zero clue how this allowed. Absolute ********.
  20. Chourio's arm is not very good. Why would we put him in RF?
  21. That would be factored into his xwOBACON lol
  22. Julien overperformed his xwOBA by 6.1%. Hiura overperformed his xwOBA by 10.2%. That's quite bit more overperformance than Julien. " gives you value everywhere else on the field and at a premium position if you needed him there." We don't need Frelick in CF so the fact he can play CF isn't really valuable to us. That's more valuable to a team like Minnesota who could use a CF. If you stick Frelick in LF he's not as valuable as he is in CF especially if he doesn't start hitting for power.
  23. Julien was 33rd in xwOBACON out of 212 hitters with 400 PA, so it's not like Julien isn't also making great contact. Just look at some of the names within 10 xwOBACON points of Julien. Riley, Soto, Muncy, Devers, Goldschmidt, Tatis, Contreras, Betts, Alsonso, Bichette. Like that's some very elite company.
  24. Hiura overperformed his xwOBA by 36 points as a rookie. Julien overperformed his xwOBA by 21 points as a rookie. That's a pretty massive difference in overperformance.
  25. Out of 212 hitters with 400 PA last season, Julien was 64th in BB:K ratio at 0.50. Out of 273 hitters 300 PA in Hiura's rookie year, Hiura was 243rd in BB:K ratio at 0.23. It's almost not even worth comparing their K-rates when one draws walks at over double the rate of the other.
