  1. His K-rate was better because he was no where near as patient as Julien. Julian works counts and draws walks. Generally guys with big BB-rates will carry larger K-rates than guys with below average BB-rates.
  2. Hiura's rookie whiff rate was 36% compared to Julien's 29%. That's a pretty huge disparity. That the same gap between Julien and Nimmo who had a 68th percentile whiff rate this year.
  3. Don’t think Eloy makes sense as a target with all the DH type bats that are in FA. Brewers could get a similar or better hitter in FA without giving up a prospect and without spending much more money.
  4. 1. Need Twins to give a small prospect. Tyrone and Farmer are similar level players but Tyrone is cheaper with 2 extra years of control. 1 for 1 is not even. 2. I would probably do this. Maybe Twins need to throw on a small prospect. 3. I would have to think on this one. Value wise it seems fair but Julien is likely a 1B and I’m not sure a Black-Julien corner IF would work out. Julien could be the best hitter on the Brewers next year if we were to trade for him, so I think ultimately I would do it.
  5. Honestly should just get rid of deferring money if we starting seeing 50% of contracts get deferred.
  6. Supposedly there are unprecedented deferrals in Ohtani's contract. Robert Murray's tweet says the majority of his salary.
  7. Time for Brewers to call JD Martinez.
  8. Ohtani signs with the Dodgers. 10 years, $700M. Hope the Brewers push hard for JD Martinez.
  9. Clarke is a 3rd catcher at best in the MLB.
  10. Ohtani would also impact JD Martinez which could hold up the 1B/DH market. I imagine Martinez wants to return to LAD but if Ohtani goes to LAD then that makes no sense because Ohtani will be the full time DH.
  11. Boob Nightengale says not so fast!
  12. While also doing that playing half his games at Petco a much more pitcher friendly park than AmFam. If Cronenworth had 3-4 years left on his deal I would be all over trading for him. I just think the last 3-4 years of his deal are going to be really bad. There's a reason he's valued at $-20M on BTV
  13. Cronenworth had a 92 wRC+ last year compared to Turang's 60 wRC+...that's a huge difference? That's the same wRC+ gap from Cronenworth to William Contreras.
  14. Pass. He's gotten worse each year since he debuted and is 29 and signed through 2030. I think there's a good chance he's replacement level guy within the next few years.
  15. Seems like Cubs are actively shopping Morel at this point. His name has come up a bunch this offseason.
  16. Boob saying the Cubs are out is the first time I’ve thought the Cubs might actually get Ohtani.
  17. No Knoth is hilarious. He’s literally the one pitcher who could actually rocket up prospect lists and he’s not even mentioned. Birchard should have been mentioned as well.
  18. There’s a 0% chance of the Orioles making that trade. Brewers would absolutely do that trade. Giving up 1 year of Burnes and 2 years of Williams for 7 years of Holiday the #1 prospect in baseball would be an absolute home run by the Brewers.
  19. Just the money I believe.
  20. The NBA introduced an in season tournament and so far it’s seemed like a massive success. What are your thoughts on the MLB introducing an in season tournament? I don’t know what the format would be but the MLB season is very long so introducing a tournament could be a great way to keep fans interested during the long season. In the NBA all in season tournament games count towards regular season records except for the championship game which is an extra game, so this wouldn’t add games. NBA prize is $500K per player.
  21. I do mostly agree with this
  22. Yeah he went from $10M to $1M buyout, $7M base, $1.5M buyout, so $9.5M plus potential incentives.
  23. Yeah no clue how I forgot that one.
