  1. Still plenty of time left but rough hitting night so far. Carolina with 2 hits. Wisconsin, Biloxi, and Nashville all with 1 hit.
  2. Because Brian Anderson plays good 3B defense and Toro is a terrible defensive player. Neither are getting AB so might as well keep the guy who is a good defensive 3B than a guy who sucks everywhere defensively.
  3. Yeah this just isn’t remotely true. He throws 3 distinct pitches. A FB in the upper 90’s. A slider in the upper 80’s to low 90’s. A curveball in the low to mid 80’s. The slider and curveball have distinct shapes and he throws the curveball far more often than “very seldom”.
  4. That 2021 draft is looking pretty great (if only we drafted Abbott instead of Smith though). 1. Frelick - already making an impact in the MLB in all aspects of the game Comp-A. Black - Top 100 prospect already in AAA 4. Henderson - Absolutely dominating Low-A after injury issues the last 1.5 years. Has #2 SP upside imo. 5. Murray - 112 wRC+ in 367 AA PA as a solid up the middle infielder 6. Rodriguez - One of the best AA SP as a 21 year old and locked in Top 10 prospect in our system 9. Jordan - Really solid season as a RP in A+ before getting injured last month 10. Clarke - 119 wRC+ in 864 PA as a professional with 41 2B and 38 HR 13. Low - Has shown flashes of extremely high pitcher upside 14. Avina - wRC+ over 120 in nearly 500 PA as a 19/20 year old in A ball That's 9 guys who have shown some form of being legit prospects.
  5. Misiorowski already throws a curveball and it is a very good pitch.
  6. I'm still a bit concerned about O'Rae's bat. There's absolutely no pop there and I'm not sure there will ever be any pop there. BUT he just is exceptional at everything else. Amazing plate discipline. Great bat control. Great speed and baserunning instincts. He seems to be a smooth fielder with nice range, but the sample is very small so far. The arm look very weak just like the bat. There's just a lot of good things to work with right now. If he develops any gap power, you have a guy who could be an MLB utility infielder someday.
  7. There are just so many players in this system having great years. Both ranked and unranked prospects. The best part is it's pretty much all age-appropriate guys performing as well.
  8. Game was suspended not postponed so that means it should be resumed at some point. Edit: Nevermind looks like the game was switched to postponed. Bummer for Ibarguen.
  9. Pedro Ibarguen heater continues with another double and triple before the game was suspended due to weather.
  10. Brewers just need to call up Hiura and Tellez. Not even sure either of them will hit, but they desperately need even the hope of a big bat in the middle of the order. I would call them up and rock this lineup. 1. Yelich - LF 2. Contreras - C 3. Frelick - CF 4. Hiura - DH 5. Tellez - 1B 6. Monasterio - 3B 7. Canha - RF 8. Turang - 2B 9. Adames - SS Caratini - Burnes personal catcher Santana - 1B platoon with Rowdy and 1B defensive replacement Anderson - 3B defensive replacement Taylor - 4th OF. Option: Wiemer and Toro for Tellez and Hiura. DFA Jahmai Jones or Bennett Sousa to open up the 40-man spot for Hiura. I'm not remotely a Hiura believer but he might have found his power stroke again and honestly there's more upside in his bat than Winker or Santana at this point.
  11. Who doesn't love DSL baseball? Dodgers Mega brought in Rancer Adon and he proceeded to face 4 batters issuing 4 BB with 6 WP...just crazy stuff in the DSL.
  12. So how about Pedro Ibarguen? He's on a heater right now and has fully established himself as a name to watch in the ACL next season. 2-2 today with a 3B, HR, 4 RBI
  13. Jackson ChourioJeferson QueroJacob MisiorowskiSal FrelickTyler BlackRobert GasserLuis LaraCarlos F RodriguezCooper PrattEric Brown JrBrock WilkenJosh KnothAbner UribeLuke AdamsMike Boeve Boeve has already moved up a few spots on my list with his early returns showing some legit power potential. He could move up even further by the end of the season if he continues to show out well in A+.Logan HendersonYophery Rodriguez I generally don't put DSL players above 20, but Yophery has earned a bump. I think he could rise up my list very fast next season.Eric BitontiDaniel GuilarteBradley Blalock Blalock could rise up this list pretty quickly as well if Brewers push him to AA and he fairs well. I haven't had a chance to watch him just yet, but the most recent Fangraphs scouting report was pretty glowing on Blalock's potential.
  14. I see so much Matt Olson in that frame, stance and swing. Hopefully he continues to produce.
  15. Didn’t really know where to post this so just doing it here. The Padres use of Hader is so confusing to me. They asked Robert Sanchez to go 5 outs today between 7th and 8th and he ran into issues in the 8th. Bases loaded in a 4-4 game with a LHH up and they don’t go to Hader for a 5 out save. And yeah I get Hader doesn’t pitch more than 1 inning but he’s pitched 2 times for 1.2 innings in the month of August. They are barely hanging on in the wild card race and Hader can’t go 5 outs for his 3rd time pitching in 13 days? Stuff like this really makes me not miss Hader all that much.
  16. He doesn't need his innings managed. He threw 137 innings last season and this year is at 107 with with 6-7 more starts which will put him in the 140 to 150 IP range which is an acceptable jump.
  17. He's been pretty terrible in AAA so far. Seems to really be battling his swing even dating back to his last week in AA. His Avg LA on his 19 batted balls in AAA is -8.8 which is absolutely horrendous.
  18. Yeah if Williams was going to be used Payamps would have been warming to come in for the 8th
  19. That's just brutal from Contreras. 3 very hittable pitches and he was totally overmatched. Him and Yelich both slumping at the same time is not ideal.
  20. Uneasy feeling about this game. Freddy's command just has not been on point. Feel like he's bound to run into some struggles at some point over the next 2 innings.
  21. Not an ideal start. Cease was catching a lot of the plate that inning and all our offense had to show for it was 3 weakly hit ground balls.
  22. Ah yes the trade that netted us 1 playoff win. Surprised you're out here celebrating a wild card birth and 1 playoff win. HaNg ThE wIlD cArD bAnNeR
  23. He definitely does have a plus to double plus FB and it's gotten better since 2020 not worse. Avg velo is 94.2 but when you factor in his 100th percentile extension the perceived velo is 96.5 which is good FB velo. His FB VAA is -4.3 degrees which is borderline elite VAA. His FB IVB is 17.1 inches which is good IVB His FB H-Mov is -10.4 which is very good H-mov. So the total package is good velo when factoring in extension, borderline elite VAA, good IVB, and very good H-Mov. That's easily a plus pitch. 2020 and 2021 his FB had a run value of -4. 2022 and 2023 his FB has a run value of +13. Taking off some velo but adding extension has improved his FB command while not impacting the perceived velo or movement profile.
  24. Sad seeing people with nothing to argue on but feelings resort to all this bad faith.
