Wiemer might be figuring things out. He’s been really solid since June 1st. Since June 1st he has a .345 xwOBA overall, .339 xwOBA vs RHP, and a .360 xwOBA vs LHP.
He had a .321 xwOBA overall and against LHP and RHP in July so despite the 80 wRC+ he was still around league average for the month in xwOBA
Is that true or has the league just not caught up to Burger like they did for Hiura?
Hiura through 550 MLB PA - .273/.347/.527, 125 wRC+, 7.1% BB-rate, 31.5% K-rate
Burger through 548 MLB PA - .230/.291/.500, 114 wRC+. 6.6% BB-rate, 31.6% K-rate
Absolutely love that trade for the White Sox. Get out on Burger before that disgusting BB and K profile catches up to him and get a big ceiling LHP...White Sox have had a pretty good deadline in my opinion.
Numbers this season for the two.
Strzelecki - 35.2 IP, 4.54 ERA, 4.05 xERA, -0.40 WPA
Chafin - 34.1 IP, 4.19 ERA, 4.25 xERA, -0.70 WPA
Hopefully we get good Chafin as he hasn't been that great this year.
Holy freaking crap. Brewers have had the worst production in the MLB at RF, 1B, DH so far this year and the Brewers went out and upgraded at 2 of those positions. Meanwhile the negativity is unbearable in this thread. It's honestly just so sad how negative this fanbase is during one of the most competitive stretches in franchise history.
I like this move especially if they pick up the club option next season. Just saying he would be an ideal platoon mate at 1B with Tyler Black!
I liked Jarvis but was unsure of him because he saw the big tick up in AA with the tacky balls which really seem to help pitchers with his profile.
Also to keep in mind, Jarvis is Rule 5 eligible this offseason, so Brewers potentially didn’t think they would protect him. Better to trade him now than potentially lose him for nothing in the offseason.
Don't know where you got that number from. Here were his preseason projections this year.
ZiPS - 128 wRC+ (52nd)
ZiPS DC - 128 wRC+ (53rd)
Steamer - 132 wRC+ (31st)
ATC - 131 wRC+ (30th)
THE BAT - 126 wRC+ (40th)
THE BAT X - 121 wRC+ (46th)
Here are his 2024 and 2025 ZiPS projections:
2024 - 124 wRC+ (41st)
2025 - 118 wRC+ (61st)
That is not a projected near top-25 hitter in all of baseball.
This is my understanding as well. The only place I see him listed as under control through 2026 is baseball-reference. I can’t find a single other place that has him under team control for 3.5 more seasons.
Literally nobody is relying strictly on the TV box and everyone is aware those boxes suck especially the top of the zone. That ball 4 to Riley was a strike according to the TV broadcast, baseball savant, mlb gameday, and umpire scorecards so people were not just going off the TV box.
Which is why I said it isn’t perfect but even an incredibly flawed site can still show your hypothetical trade was absolutely a pathetic joke if the gap is $80M worth of value difference.
The Brewers would literally never consider Chourio for Ha Seong Kim straight up. Let alone Chourio, Misiorowski, and more.
Can you show proof of this? The only place I see him listed as having team control through 2026 is Baseball-Reference. Spotrac and Roster Resource both have him as a FA when his contract is up and I can’t find a single article saying he’s under control through 2026.
HSK came stateside after 6+ years in the KBO and at 25 years old. So he didn’t sign through IFA bonus pool like Ohtani or Soler did who did not meet those qualifications.
Maybe this site should stop green lighting articles that’ are clearly just there to rage bait.
Baseball Trade values which by no means is a perfect site has Misiorowski and Chourio’s combined value at $95M and Ha Seong Kim’s at $17M.
Suggesting the Brewers would need those 2 and more to trade for HSK is a clear troll attempt from a Cubs fan and is the definition of lazy.
Ha Seong Kim has 2.5 years of control according to spotrac not 3.5 years of control. And the last year is a $7M mutual option which he’s going to decline, so in reality he has 1.5 years of control.
Also lmao of course the Cubs fan thinks the Brewers should trade Chourio and Misiorowski and more for 3.5 years of Ha Seong Kim. Another incredible article on this website!
Fangraphs actually did a study on this and 26 years old is typically a player’s peak, so 26-29 is not typically a baseball player’s best years.

Edit: Also Chourio would not need to be down in AAA until June to get an extra season. You only need to be down for about 3 weeks to get the extra year of control. Brice Turang got the extra year of control this season when he was optioned in June.
There’s a big difference between the strength of AA in the back half of the season and the strength of AA at the beginning of the season. The league he’s dominating right now is not as strong as the league at the beginning of the season.
He also struggled against the tacky balls which play far closer to MLB stuff and movement profiles than the mudded baseballs especially when taking into considering the previous mentioned better quality in AA at the beginning of the season.
