  1. He was also pitching on 1 day rest after throwing 39 pitches and taking a hard comebacker off this throwing hand. He really should have never been out there on Wednesday.
  2. He really wasn't crushing the ball. Just extremely good batted ball luck. Since June 1st he has a .338 wOBA vs a .303 xwOBA with a .419 BABIP. Also only 4 XBH in 96 PA so basically just purely singles which for a station to station runner like him isn't good.
  3. Don't think the Fangraphs draft board has been updated since before the college season so not sure how Melendez will rank when it's updated later this week. He's 123 at BA, 92 at ESPN, 140 at Pipeline. Seems like he would be a decent pick at 94 or 125.
  4. There's not much to say about him because ACL games are not streamed. What we know from a couple statcast ACL games is that he's got some bat speed as he hit a baseball 113mph in one of the statcast games. He also posts video on his instagram at times. I think this clip of a grand slam earlier this year was from his instagram
  5. Aaron Ashby in his career as a reliever - 80.2 IP, 2.57 ERA, 2.24 FIP, 33% K-rate, 7% BB-rate, 62% GB-rate. No idea why you wouldn't trust that
  6. Nobody said Ashby should be used in a 1 inning role and how he's been used has not been giving high leverage guys off because he basically never pitches in leverage hence the second lowest leverage index in the bullpen. They should use Ashby like 2018 Hader as a multi-inning leverage guy.
  7. Outside of Misiorowski, I don't think there's a single in the player in the system I could completely rule off the table in a trade. Guys like Made and Pena are the next closest but if we could move one of them as a headliner for a really good MLB player with team control, I would consider it with them in A ball multiple years away from impacting the big league club.
  8. Is Reynolds better than Collins? Even assuming Reynolds bounces back at the plate, the bat is basically all he offers at this point. He's a huge downgrade from Collins both defensively and on the bases which are two things the Brewers put a bunch of emphasis on.
  9. No longer listed for the week either. Hopefully it's not an injury. I was kind of hoping he could replace McGee in the bullpen which would allow Ashby to be shifted to more of a leverage multi-inning role.
  10. The bigger issue is finding the Yelich type player to trade for. Maybe the Nats are willing to trade CJ Abrams in the offseason and the Brewers think they can improve his SS defense.
  11. It makes absolutely no sense. He's terrible and has another year on his contract.
  12. Yeah I just don't really get it. Ortiz was playing his best baseball of the season then had two really bad games in Miami and Murphy benched him and just tore him to shreds publicly. Weird situation.
  13. Double strike on Murphy's bullpen management this series. Had Ashby throw 2 innings up 7 and 9 runs in game 1 and then tried to use him again on 1 day rest after 39 pitches in game 1.
  14. Absolutely not lol. I don't really care that Stewart has 2 more years of team control when he is 33 and has never been able to stay healthy. The guy hasn't thrown 40 innings in a season since 2019.
  15. I know you're joking but Koenig actually had more velo than Uribe tonight. Topped out at 99.5 which was the hardest pitch of his career.
  16. I agree that it's a pretty fair deal. Just no chance the Brewers would do it.
  17. I was sitting next to a group of four (two husbands and two wives) and one of the wives said oh Woodruff hit a HR this year, maybe he hits a HR here. I turned to her and said no chance he hits a HR off Kershaw. I was so confident that I said if he does, I'll buy beers for all four of you. Probably the best 4 beers I've bought in my life.
  18. This is special folks. We need to enjoy every single inning we can watch of Misiorowski.
  19. Ashby came in with the Brewers up 7-0 and also came back out with the Brewers up 9-0 in the 8th. Ashby has the second lowest leverage index (game leverage when entering the game) in the Brewers current bullpen only ahead of Easton McGee so you're very wrong on how he's been used. Also Alexander had a 1.04 leverage index as a Brewer this year compared to Ashby's 0.66 so Alexander was used in more leverage spots.
  20. Probably depends on how Vaughn plays, but I'd definitely be interested in getting one of O'Hearn or Naylor. Thumb injuries are tricky. Feel like even when players get back from them their hitting can be impacted.
  21. You’d need substantially more to get 3.5 seasons of Abrams
  22. They have a power lefty. His name is Aaron Ashby. We just need our manager to stop treating him like he's Tyler Alexander
  23. The Brewers lead MLB in infield hits with 94 and are tied for first in MLB in bunt hits with 15
