  1. Looking just quickly on BR, Voit for his career is better against RHP than LHP. I'm not sure I'm clear on the roster construction with Voit.
  2. We need another lefty in the bullpen. Give another option to CC than Milner.
  3. Need this one before going to SF for the weekend.
  4. It might be a fit at 3B, if the Crew are able to extend Adames. That would keep Turang at 2B. Only spot on the infield would be 3B. Not sure if he has the arm strength for that perhaps that is what the Brewers FO is trying to understand. If they don't extend Adames, then in a couple of years Turang will move over to SS and if Black develops might be the 2B.
  5. He was the DH last night with Nashville.
  6. He is has also starting playing out in LF.
  7. Sorry had my sums wrong: In the 27 innings of offense Crew has already K 35 times. That's 11 2/3 innings of nothing but whiffs (nearly half of our total innings). 93 team AB.
  8. I would add another lowlight: In the 27 innings of offense Crew has already K 30 times. 10 full innings of outs, 93 team AB,
  9. Have no faith in this front office in order to get value for Burnes in a trade.
  10. Mod edit: Stop posting that meme. We get it. You think the owner is cheap. It's gotten very old very quickly. Consider this a warning.
  11. Bando gets the blame but don't think for a moment that this wasn't Buds doing.
  12. The Ownership Group and FO maintain that they want to bring a WS to Milwaukee. Which means you have to win the pennant. The roster and moves made by both this offseason will not lead to this. Brewers are fortunate to be in the NL Central where they façade of being competitive is huge, However with a balanced schedule this year things will be different. Anything above 83 wins will be a miracle. Only way Crew makes playoffs in the near future is if the MLB adds more teams to the mickey mouse playoff brackets. This is the beginning of the end.
  13. Nope. He is just another GM that failed to bring a WS championship to Milwaukee. Not all his fault. Need ownership group that wants to win rather than hoping to win but he is just another name on a long list. Fans will go on about how this is the Golden Era and made playoffs gizillion years in a row or something like that but at the end of the day we lost the last game of the season. However he is a good GM that maximises $/win which judging by most of the posters on this board is more important than actually winning. Can't wait till Burnes gets traded in July everyone will go ballistic over the "prospects" the Crew get.
  14. After almost 6 decades on this planet these are the truths that I believe are universal: 1. Taxes 2. Death 3. Rich people will always want to tell you how poor they are. 4. There are those that win championships and those that tell you why they can't. 5. There are shepherds and there are sheep. Milwaukee Brewers - 53 yrs in existence. 1 Pennant. 1 WS appearance. 0 WS Rings.
  15. I think the projections look about right. I think this is a 83 win team right now. Not going to be enough to win the division or make the playoffs.
  16. How can this article question our Ownership and FO? Don't they know that this is the smartest and bestest Ownership and FO in the MLB? I'm not just talking about now but the entire history of baseball!!!! Surely they have to be at the top of the standings of Ownership/FO not to win anything. Did they not hear when Arnold said they were very busy at the winter meetings? I mean they brought a whiteboard and everything!!! Now, why they would want to blow the ownership budget on a whiteboard is beyond me. I mean just look at CC T-shirt he wore doing interviews. CC and Arnold were like kids in a candy store being with all the other MLB teams. They must be tuckered out after their trip to SD. I wonder if they drove north to see Attanasio in LA. Mark probably wanted to have another conversation where they sit around and challenge each other. Nobody wants to win more than those three, just ask them. FO and ownership said at the start they want a ws....then we want to be the best we can be in 2023...to hey we put out a product. I mean what do people expect? They have the highest number of arbitration players in the major leagues right now, which has caught them by surprised somehow even though probably should of been planning this earlier. They have holes to fill from the holes they created every year with there roster creations. Right now ownership is concentrating on what next baseball cards they need to get and getting Norwich promoted to the EPL. There are only so many hours in the day. I mean we are just the Milwaukee Brewers. Should just be happy we have a MLB team. Afterall, this is the Golden Age of Brewers Baseball. I prefer the other title though: WASTING THE BEST ROTATION IN FRANCHISE HISTORY. Wonder if the next era will be WASTING THE POTENTIAL OF OUTFIELD PROSPECTS.
  17. I'm going to preface this with I know it's still early and there is a lot of moves that may happen to improve the roster. However, these are my thoughts at the moment. I think if Winker is healthy (another player with bad knees and a neck issue is not good) and his head is in the right place, it's an okay move for a DH against RHP only, but the trade does not move the needle. If anything, the roster is slightly weaker especially with all the unknowns that are currently penciled in at starting positions. It seems to me the way this roster is penciling out that they are putting a lot of faith in young prospects, who have yet to play a full MLB season or even get in an AB at the ML level. That's a lot of pressure on these young kids to come up and make an impact. Especially for a team that has playoff aspirations or even "WS" aspirations. However, based on Arnolds comments to Adam Mcalvey after the Kolten trade, that the Brewers are trying to be the "best" they can be in 2023. Seems to me that he has even dropped the pretense of contending for a WS right now. They will not use the word rebuild but at best this is a reset to evaluate what they have in the minors to see if these prospects are legit or not. The current lineup is very thin and to be honest there is no one that you are afraid to face. The plan seems to be to lower payroll with the illusion of contending. I do not believe they will sign anyone to improve the roster. This leads me to believe that Burnes, Woody, and Adames will not be extended (and not part of the "plan") and will be gone by the trading deadline next summer, if not sooner. I don't believe BN report that the Brewers have pulled those three off the trading block. To me that just tells me the Brewers are telling the market that the value in return needs to be higher. I have followed the Brewers for 44 years. I've seen the good and the bad of this franchise and all its re-incarnations, the multiple re-builds, plans, etc. The only thing that does not change is some other team always seems to win the WS. I know I will be slated for this view and ridiculed, but I have lost faith.
  18. Fine points but I also think they you have to add in the mix the question of winning a championship. Most players say that is the reason they play the game. That might not be 100% true for all and might not be the only reason but I do think it is a valid consideration. Now I don't think the Crew is that far off from making the playoffs next season but they have to address the offense. Which they still might and hopefully will. If they don't that would make me pause and think if I was either of them. Happy Thanksgiving.

  20. I would still like someone to explain to me if you are Burnes or Woody, why would you sign an extension with Milwaukee? They know in 2 years' time or maybe 1 year that they will either be traded or hit the FA market and will get paid (probably more than the Brewers can or be willing to pay) and be on an organization that probably is better suited (or serious about) winning a WS. Everyone on this board acts like the extension are completely controlled by the Brewers and players have no say in it. If I'm either of them or any impact FA, no way to I even consider Milwaukee even if Mark ponies up the money and blows all other offers off the table. I mean Bob Uecker goes only so far.
