  13. Mark Mathias optioned by Pittsburgh. Trevor Kelley optioned by Tampa. Kelley had just been added to the Rays' 40-man recently.
  14. Sunday 3/26:Latest Milwaukee Tailgate Podcast - "On this last episode before the start of the regular season, the guys broke down the NL Central Race, picked division, World Series and award winners for around the game and took a bunch of fantastic listener questions about the season to come." Via the Journal Sentinel Podcast: "The first week of the MLB season is here! First, the Brewers have some loose ends to tie up in camp. What's going on with Luke Voit? And if he doesn't wind up getting a spot on this team, does that mean the Brewers will break camp with three rookie outfielders (Garrett Mitchell, Sal Frelick, Joey Wiemer) on the roster? Brewers reporter Curt Hogg is in Arizona for the falling action of 2023 spring training, and he joins host JR Radcliffe to discuss the enigmatic career trajectory of Keston Hiura now that it appears his Brewers run is over. What are the repercussions to the roster if Adrian Houser has to open on the injured list? Rule 5 pick Gus Varland has got to make the team, right? How are we feeling as we get set for a new season?" Via the "Brewers Babes" Podcast: "In this episode Erin and Lisa discuss the tweaks to the new 2023 rules, including a ridiculous new rule about bat boys and bat girls. We talk about the WBC and why the games were so enjoyable to watch. We share our Sausage Race and Fielders Choice picks and talk about our opening Day lineup predictions and plans."
  15. Brewers yet to announce the release of RH reliever Kent Hasler, but this tweet from his performance coach indicates the 27-year-old has indeed been let go. Hasler was excellent to begin 2022 at Wisconsin before being bumped to a cameo Nashville appearance in June. Three days later came a transfer to AA Biloxi where Hasler settled in for the balance of the season. This spring saw Hasler invited to big league games on a few occasions and he retired the one batter he faced upon entering. Hasler was signed by the Brewers in May of 2021. He had three summers of independent ball under his belt after his Louisiana Tech college career. Hasler was actually inked in February of 2020 by the Diamondbacks, but the pandemic saw his affiliated dream take a pause when Arizona released him just two months later. Hoping Kent lands another spot in short order. This is an indication Monday (perhaps Sunday) could be a rough day on the formal release announcement front.
  16. Blake Nation is the new Development Coach for one of the DSL clubs. RH reliever Zach Vannaro should see time with Nashville this season. They were together in their college wood bat summer league days in New York State.
  17. RHP Nash Walters (3rd round, 2015) released by the Angels. Walters faced three batters (H, BB, out) in the season finale for the Angels last fall in his MLB debut. Walters had been outrighted and re-signed after the season. RHP Eric Yardley released by Arizona, where he was in camp on a minor-league deal.
  18. Friday 3/24:Reviewing the Brew's" Cold Brew Podcast: "Co-hosts David Gasper and Matt Carroll take a deep dive into the Milwaukee Brewers roster decisions as Opening Day approaches. There are battles for jobs in the bullpen, the infield, and the outfield. Who could take those spots and who might miss out? David and Matt dissect each situation. Plus, the Phillies now have a need at first base after an injury to Rhys Hoskins. Could the Brewers look to trade one of their spare first basemen? There's a lot of reasons to do so."
