  1. Definitely would keep going the value way. Close to the World Series too often to make a Fickell move.
  2. Dude, you really are a moderator here and have nothing more to add than a spelling error I made on a tough name? Who do I contact to make a complaint?
  3. Maybe Semien would be the better target than Seager.2
  4. My full off season plans are fairly simple since my general philosophy given where we are and who we are is to promote from within and keep the band bonded together as long as you have a great farm which we do. Sign Kim to be our SS and Ortiz moves to the Montasario role unless his trade value is greater than I think. Still a great option at all of 3B/ss/2b if needed. See if there is a trade to be had for Steven Kwan. He fits us and would help as much as a power bat would albeit in a different way. For those wanting “a bat” added to the lineup in the off season, Kwan is ultimately the impact guy I think you are seeking. 3) Keep Peralta and resign Woodruff. Self explanatory. I would fill all bullpen and starting slots with these two and the current controlled 40 man.
  5. Ortiz would be everyday SS and Durbin a rover getting 300-400 abs at different positions in your scenario. Joey doesn’t lose his job in this scenario.. But Durbin’s role changes.
  6. The “big bat” is more likely to be a Baty/Mayo type we trade for imo. Not a proven big bat that’s expensive cash wise but a guy they feel is on the verge of 25-35 homer seasons.
  7. We will make a move to the lineup. Yelich, Chourio, Frelick, Contreras, Vaughn, Turang are filling 7-9 spots. No movement will happen there. 3B, SS, or OF we will probably target aggressively this off season. And Ortiz or Durbin as controllable middle infielders is invaluable.
  8. Another “hindsight” thought I don’t feel values a new thread: We talked a ton about a Devin to Phils deal in the off season and Stott was likely there to be had with a little added here or there. He would have fit this squad extremely well and maybe likely be an upgrade to the infield from the impressive Durbin. But then Devin might pitch really well in Philly and keep us from the World Series. Just interesting to me to think about and wanted to share.
  9. Agreed to an extent but might the power bat they desire be more along the lines of a Brett Baty/Cody Mayo that isn’t quite proven but that they deem is on the verge of a 30 homer season is more my question.
  10. Of course we weren’t trading Made or Miz in a deal for him over the offseason. No doubt we made a strong offer though. Maybe it was Pratt, Black, Henderson, Wichowski or something like that and got rejected but I have no doubt we offered an appealing package over the offseason.
  11. What would an equal-or-better offer have been for Crochet in the off season. Granted, these things aren’t linear and we likely don’t land Priester if Crochet isn’t in Boston but it’s just a thing that makes you go hmmm..
  12. I think Kim is one of the only guys to target in free agency. Maybe a Bellinger type bat that goes unnoticed in free agency later if something like that were to happen to him, Naylor, Suarez, etc. Otherwise it’s prudent to stand pat largely this off season. Explore extending Turang maybe? Explore extending Uribe maybe? Idk. We are sitting pretty good regardless if we go 0-3 in playoffs (not happening).
  13. Fair points. I’m high on my salary suggestion. I do feel he opts out and is someone we will target at “our” price.
  14. I don’t see why you wouldn’t want to go with the younger options here. I don’t see any reason Zastryzny or Grant Anddrson should get the nod over core future guys that are likely better anyway (and have plenty of 2025 innings in them still yet).
  15. Wiemer played outfield only and not well enough in center as is. Siegler can play any infield position (SS included) and actually catches plenty well enough to use Quero (or the backup C) as a pinch hitter. He has draft pedigree fwiw too. I think he’s a really good member of the 26 brewers and will post an impressive war for the opportunities he’s given next year.
  16. I think he’d be perfect for a 2-3 year at 18-20m per deal if it’s there to be had. Allows us to deal Pratt for the right bat or arm and Kim transitions to Jesus Made down the road. I think he screams brewers fit to Matt Arnold. Thoughts?
  17. That should read “Madison Mallards alum” Alonso
  18. Weird to say but it’s impossible to both make us a non-playoff team or a World Series favorite no matter what we do this off season. We will be really good yet not star studded enough regardless.
  19. Wouldn’t be smart to go big in FA.
  20. Adell would be a good bat to trade from some prospect surplus in the off season, A dream trade would be opening the farm system up quite a bit for both Adell AND Zack Neto but that would be pretty unlikely.
  21. Yeah I’m saying our brewers staff should sit back and relax at the positive asset they have in him. Then hopefully get a comp pick and wait for the next Pratt to hopefully be a good enough starter. Dont pay 100 mil plus for Turang, and he is damn good. ……And we are Milwaukee.
  22. Best to enjoy BT control years and hope he does well enough to get us a comp pick his departure year. Don’t over analyze an example of a second baseman we won’t be extending but enjoying his play several more years.
  23. I think we may open up the books just a tad for one bat. Not sure where said bat will come from. Don’t see much beyond Woodruff needing to be resigned of players eligible for free agency. We have all the pitchers we need in the organization already. I could see us sign a Naylor or Suarez (or even Bellinger) if the price is right. This is the year I see one addition via free agency for a good bat (Hoskins leaves with option declined btw).
  24. I think we have to keep Peralta for his contract year and take the pick for the following draft. Too much upside there for what we know will be a really good team. Even a month ago I probably would have been a “let’s trade him for triple the comp pick value offer” but I now think we need to keep him. The question to me is if we should spend serious prospect capital on a SS or 3B that’s controllable via trade. And I mean going biggish there (Brooks Lee, Zach Neto type deal).
  25. Seigler has a Monasterio type career for Milwaukee but Urias replaces him by 9/15 for this season. He has a future here though .
