    Junis to the 60-day IL. Looks like the combination of injuries got him hard. One of the pitchers we spent on and we lose him after 4 innings pitched. Another awful blow to the rotation. Gasser needs to get here ASAP! The transfer to the IL does open the door for Herget, who I like more than Junk. Junk also threw almost 40 pitches yesterday so he would have been down for at least today and maybe tomorrow. Confirmation that Freddy will start serving the suspension.

    I would say at least 1-2 more starts in AA. The walks are still an issue. After that, I am all for seeing how he fares in the International League.

    Gasser ends his day with 4IP 3H 2ER 3BB 7K 1HR. Thompson pitched 0.2, gave up 2 walks and a steal and was replaced by Meeker who has pitched 1.1 with 1K and allowed a double.

    Yeah. Problem is Sanchez is the alternative and he is a way worse defender. No space on the 40-man for another catcher and it would be silly to carry 3.

    Triple-A is currently using both ABS and the challenge system. So not until next season at the earliest. More likely 2026+ I think

    I hate not seeing Ortiz. Top 100 prospect who we traded our ace for, a top 5 SP in MLB, and is OPSing in the .800s. I could understand not starting him vs lefties because he hasn't hit them well this year (I still think platooning prospects is stupid), but against a righty??? And the option is Dunn, with an OPS vs RHP almost 300 points less. A former Rule 5 pick that the Phillies were not looking to protect, who was traded for Robert Moore and Hendry Mendez, who were solid prospects but nowhere near the caliber of Ortiz. Dunn has a place in the team, sure. He is not the starting 3B

    No. Ask the question in July. We will know if we are actually competing. If we are still first in the division, it would be ridiculous to trade him, if we are 8 games behind on the Wild Card it might make more sense. By then the price will also be higher because demand increases at the deadline..

    Maybe every hitter is different and lets not predict Black's entire career in 15 AB's? Excessive movement ala Wiemer is definitively bad news but a leg kick is not inherently bad.
