  1. I really like this idea...I mean, I really like it...a lot! Anyone have a mockup of what that could look like with the current color scheme they're using?
  2. Just saw a tweet mentioning that the new Kids Club Packs for 2017 seem to feature the redone ball & glove logo exclusively. Makes me wonder if the Brewers are indeed testing the waters on fully going to that look.
  3. This reminds me a lot of when Melvin took a flyer on Aoki. We have a player who had been productive in a foreign league, signed to a relatively cheap contract (by MLB standards). This is a guy who should be able to contribute in 2017 and could be traded down the line if he does well.
  4. And it's not like MLB is alone in that. Look at all the hoopla over the NFL "color rush" jerseys this year.
  5. The Yount bobblehead should be pretty cool. I appreciate they're changing things up overall for 2017, rather than the usual slew of bobbleheads and t-shirts.
  6. Done! Or at least, I changed it back to a standard topic. Folks can still comment here if they wish.
  7. I was basically indifferent to this World Series...I do have many friends and family who are Cubs fans, so I am happy for them this morning. Now hopefully someday I'll get to see the Brewers in a World Series. If the Cubs can win a championship after 108 years, I guess nothing is impossible.
  8. My guess is that the Brewers have done an analysis and found that an "entertainment area" around Miller Park would probably not do well. Looking around the country, many malls are half vacant, and strip malls aren no longer being built in many areas anymore. That economic model doesn't necessarily work in 2016.
  9. Well, hard to not be happy for Cubs fans. I know a few. I can't really bring myself to actively cheer for the Cubs, though. They're still our rivals. I hope someday I get to see the Brewers in the World Series. I was still a toddler in 1982.
  10. Have I mentioned the Dodgers are my second favorite MLB team? I know a lot of Cubs fans will be devastated if Chicago doesn't pull this off, but I sure won't be.
  11. Sounds like they maybe have someone newer in a leadership position who is on a power trip. It really stinks for you. No one likes to be disregarded like that. Maybe it's time to find a different group to volunteer for.
  12. $5 million or so for a 40 home run first baseman isn't exactly expensive or out of line with MLB salaries these days. I'm guessing Carter is our Opening Day first baseman again in 2017. As far as Scooter, I have to believe some team out there is in need of an acceptable second baseman. That's what Scooter is. He isn't a guy to build around long term in Milwaukee.
  13. Technically is the Barrie Burger - Nueske's bacon, American cheese, and natural chunky pnut butter. A bacon peanut butter cheeseburger. If that's wrong, I don't want to be right. Probably my favorite food item at Miller Park. I think it has surpassed my love of the Cactus League Nachos.
  14. Kind of underwhelming after the hype and previous announcements, but this isn't a bad thing either. Even though many here maybe don't each much stadium food, many fans obviously do. I guess my only criticism is that they hype up offering AJ Bomber's, etc. You can already get those at Miller Park, you just have to go out of your way to get them, depending on where you're seated. Honestly, I already thought the food offerings were great, but if this makes the experience look a bit nicer or more accessible throughout the stadium, then that's fine.
  15. Download Truecaller. It's free, works great, lets you block numbers, and can usually identify unknown callers.
  16. http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/ct-ab-inbev-sabmiller-merger-megabrew-20160928-story.html "A deal worth over $100 billion to combine the world's two biggest beer companies cleared its last major hurdle Wednesday when the shareholders of SABMiller approved the takeover by Budweiser maker Anheuser-Busch Inbev."
  17. At this point I think folks should go over to the BF Political Scene website if they wish to continue this discussion, where it would probably be more appropriate.
  18. My guess is some kind of brewery/entertainment venue attached or nearby the park. It's silly that the lack of immediate nearby before and after game dining/drinking options hasn't been addressed over the last 16 years.
  19. Yeah, I can't imagine anyone encouraging a young person to go into public education right now. I know a young lady who did great academically in high school. Great in sports, very involved, etc. She was actually our son's first babysitter. Great with kids, loves kids, etc. She very seriously considered pursuing a teaching degree, and she would have been a great teacher. With all the negativity over the past few years, though, she saw the writing on the wall. She went to school in Minnesota, got a business degree, and is working for a company in the Twin Cities. The biggest kicker? Her mom is a public school teacher. That's just one anecdote, but I can see more and more examples like that happening unless the discourse changes in our state.
  20. This might be Ryan Braun's last game at Miller Park as a Brewer. Let's hope he gets a proper send off!
  21. Great game in person tonight. I've been to three Brewers triple plays in person now.
  22. Without getting political, I was trying to explain some of the frustrations of teachers to a business acquaintance. He didn't understand all the extra responsibilities that teachers now have, which they didn't "back in the day."
  23. That's how I feel, but that's probably why the deal didn't get done on August 31st. The Brewers will take Puig, but not as the center piece. They want high upside prospects...and for Braun, that is what they should be looking for. It will be tough for me when Braun leaves. He has been my favorite baseball player since his debut as a third baseman rookie. Yet, I think it's probably best for him and for the franchise if he moves on.
  24. Yeah, that's frustrating, but at least they got a run.
