  1. So Bickford was SF's best prospect? Nice job, Stearns.
  2. OK, what do we know about these two prospects? Glad to hear people are excited about them.
  3. Haudricourt says Lucroy did not go with the team to San Diego. I would say that is a positive sign that trade talks are still alive and ongoing.
  4. Players can switch around positions as much as the manager wishes, just not their place in the batting order.
  5. Which goes to show you..That prospects aren't jack..I will bet you anything that this "rebuild" won't even start for 5 more years...What I find interesting is that some of you that are slamming acquiring "major league ready" talent, are also advocating for Derek Norris. I'd like that move, but you can't have it both ways. Knock it off, now. You know the rules here.
  6. Well, if Jeffress is included you have to figure the haul works out to be way more than the Cleveland deal. (He said, stating the obvious).
  7. A contract goes both ways. The Brewers agreed to putting the no-trade clause in his contract, and Lucroy is exercising it. What exactly is he not "honoring" here?
  8. This is a good assessment. While I was personally on board with the trade as presented (I liked what I read on Mejia), it definitely seemed like the big market we expected wasn't there. Didn't seem like Stearns' phone was exactly ringing off the hook with huge offers. Sometimes these things have a way of working out how they're supposed to in the long run.
  9. Some folks are being awfully judgemental towards a player who has been loyal to Milwaukee for his entire big league career. He probably has many things to weigh on his mind in making this decision, like his family, his personal life, and the rest of his career. Anyone pretending to fully understand his rationale right now is making a big reach.
  10. I think the success of this trade hinges on Mejia panning out. Everything else seems to be gravy.
  11. McCalvy is saying Manny Pina (C - Colorado Springs) is in Milwaukee and will go onto the MLB roster if the Lucroy deal goes through.
  12. Ooooh...yeah, I do remember that now. Yes, that was much better than the MB "thing". I still like our current uniforms and caps best, though (including the alternate ball & glove cap).
  13. My take: I like what I'm reading about the three players we are apparently getting. No matter what trade of this caliber works out, some people are going to be disappointed no matter what. We also all need to remember that other trades will likely happen. Guerra, Smith, Jeffress, etc could all be on the table yet over the next 24 hours. Finally, I'm glad the thread got back on topic after some back and forth sniping. Let's keep it on topic, and thank you for reading Brewerfan.net!
  14. Anyone have a pic of that one? For some reason I don't really remember it and can't find a pic online.
  15. It was hard to tell with that awful camera angle but I didn't see him either. Ditto.
  16. Trying to, if Jeffress can ever get around to getting a third out here.
  17. I wish FS Wisconsin would give some sort of acknowledgement of Lucroy situation. Haven't even mentioned his name in several innings, and I don't think they've shown any shots of the dugout either.
  18. Uecker was actually discussing this on the radio earlier tonight. He said he suspects the Pirates have noticed something with Melancon's delivery of late, and that's why they were open to moving him. Uke claimed he had talked to some coaches in the clubhouse about it.
  19. Sounds like Lucroy may be in clubhouse now, but haven't heard any official confirmation. Supposedly the team was slow to get back on the field before the last half inning.
  20. "Piss off" One more like this and you're getting banned. Final warning.
  21. I seriously do not get what you're complaining about. It was a great moment at the end there, and a nice win. What is there to complain about?
  22. +1. Talk about continuing to up the trade value. With the premium placed on pitching this summer, I am shocked we have not heard anything about Guerra. This is definitely a showcase type appearance... Hope they don't get burned leaving him in here with two on and no outs.
  23. This is what some people don't seem to get (mostly casual fans and people who want Braun given to their team for a bag of beans). His contract is no longer a big deal. It isn't hindering the Brewers from doing anything either way.
  24. Ever read the responses most guys like him get on twitter? I dont blame him, that place is a cesspool. I just use it to follow news and sports and I never tweet. He has been a condescending, self-impressed, lazy jerk for as long as I can remember, which goes back way before Twitter existed. On topic-ish, does playing Luc help the "we hold all the cards, we don't have to trade him" narrative? That is pretty much it. Don't sit him until you're ready to pull the trigger on a deal.
  25. I remember someone from a different team commented on him during the off-season when the Brewers acquired him: "Johnny Estrada keeps getting fatter and slower every year."
