  1. Supposedly the Brewers and Giants are in "preliminary talks" about Ryan Braun: http://host.madison.com/wsj/sports/baseball/professional/brewers-giants-reportedly-eyeing-trade-for-ryan-braun/article_546d65b6-0a2e-5848-a9c5-4d27a88b6468.html This quote from Braun (from the article) on the situation is pretty hilarious: “It seems regardless of which team we’re playing, that’s the team I’m getting traded to,” Braun said. “It started when we played the Angels, I was getting traded there. Then we played the Cubs and I was getting traded there, so I’m assuming by this weekend I’ll be getting traded to the Dodgers and not the Giants.”
  2. Agreed. Who cares if grown men fight? Potential for injury? Meh. Maybe Grienke got injured in a brawl? Can't remember any others. I love brawls. Good fun. Well, sometimes they do get a bit too out of hand. There was the brawl a few years ago where Johnny Cueto ended Jason Larue's career, kicking him in the head.
  3. Well, your wish was granted. Second shutout win of the year for the Crew.
  4. I probably won't get to see much of this one tonight, but excited for Davies to hopefully keep on a roll.
  5. Couldn't they send him down to AA? Is there a rule against that? They could just say, "Wily, we like you, but we need to see you get right...and the place to do that isn't Colorado Springs." I would think he would understand, even if he'd be unhappy with the demotion.
  6. Just turned the TV on for the first time today. It's not there right now. Hopefully they're using it sparingly. We don't need FS-Wisconsin trying to emulate ESPN.
  7. Congrats...I know it's been quite a journey for you to get there.
  8. ie. "We've had a few tire kickers, but no one is offering anything close to what we'd want, in order to give up a franchise leading player." I don't take that to me they won't trade him...just that they're not going to get rid of him for a bag of balls.
  9. I have a laptop and a desktop both running Windows 10, and everything is working fine for me. No complaints here.
  10. I didn't even realize teams were allowed to wear a BP jersey during a regular season game. Strange.
  11. Brewers lineup today (no Ryan Braun): 1. Jonathan Villar, SS (S) 2. Hernan Perez, 3B ® 3. Jonathan Lucroy, C ® 4. Chris Carter, 1B ® 5. Aaron Hill, 2B ® 6. Ramon Flores, RF (L) 7. Keon Broxton, CF ® 8. Alex Presley, LF (L) 9. Jimmy Nelson, RHP ® Today's Reds lineup: B Hamilton CF J Votto 1B B Phillips 2B J Bruce RF A Duvall 3B T Holt LF I Jesus SS T Barnhart C B Finnegan P
  12. MLB Trade Rumors with a small update regarding Braun. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/05/cafardos-latest-braun-moore-cargo-bruce-santiago.html
  13. I was thinking about this last night. Seems like more than just a roleplayer for the Brewers for the next couple years. He just turned 25, so his best years are still ahead of him if he stays healthy and keeps playing like this.
  14. Just guessing they're this year's fan design winner. I'm just tuning into the game so I'm not 100 percent sure on that.
  15. Looking at that graphic that Casey posted, it's clear the current strike zone has come down to low. It's extremely tough to effectively hit a pitch that comes in that low. It's no wonder offense is down across the league.
  16. I have mixed feelings about the IBB thing. On one hand, it is exciting when a pitcher misses. I'm not sure how often that is, though. I have a feeling it's probably about the same rate that an extra point kick is missed in the NFL...exciting when it happens, but so statistically rare that it's otherwise meaningless. In the spirit of speeding up the game, I'm probably OK with MLB doing away with it.
  17. It probably isn't a big deal in a state with many multi-million dollar high school football stadiums.
  18. Did you ever have a resolution to this problem?
  19. I'm so glad I decided to give in and go to bed after that 12th inning. Having bases loaded, no outs, and then failing to score a single run is unacceptable and beyond embarrassing.
  20. Ouch! That has to sting a bit.
  21. A lot of times with firings like this, there is probably stuff behind the scenes that the fans aren't aware of. As an example, I remember after Ken Macha was fired, Trenni Kusnierik later said he'd "lost the clubhouse."
  22. I make and take business related calls in the car a lot. I try to keep the conversations while I'm driving somewhat limited. Often I'll find some place to pull over if it's going to be a longer phone call.
  23. Going with my family today. Looking forward to it. Here's hoping Davies can get his second win of the season.
