  1. I'm open to trade ideas at this point. I just don't know who would be realistically available. Make a trade with Colorado for Matt Holliday, in exchange for pitching help, perhaps?
  2. I personally think Hall or Weeks will get traded this off-season, with the other staying on as the Brewers 2B. I'd rather have offensive help than pitching help at this point, as I feel someone in the Brewers pitching staff will step up and start being a reliable starter (Parra, Gallardo, Vargas, Villanueva, etc).
  3. Not much more could make me happier than Hall not playing CF anymore. I just don't think he's ever going to turn into an ideal CF. I'd move him to LF, or (and I know this won't happen) 2B next year (assuming Weeks would get traded or put into a utility role).
  4. I've been impressed with Dillon so far, and wouldn't mind seeing him get a shot at regular playing time, even before the end of this year. That way they can evaluate if he would be worth keeping on the 25 man roster for next year. I wasn't specifically saying the Brewers should go get Dunn. I know his defense is bad. I would just like a player with similar offensive numbers (yes, I know he Ks a lot, but only the best of the best hit a lot of homers without striking out a lot, and we simply aren't getting someone like that). I guess I would rather see the Brewers spend some of the cash surplus they should have in the off-season to acquire a bat to shore up the offense. We've kind of seen how hit or miss spending money on pitching can be, and I'm not sure of any pitchers that will be available this off-season worth pursuing.
  5. Ah, I don't mind Jenkins as much as some people, but they need someone who can be counted on to drive in 30+ homers a year and a bunch of RBIs. Someone like Adam Dunn would be perfect.
  6. We can't keep trotting out starters that aren't even getting through the fifth inning. Enough of this 4+ innings starts, constantly, garbage. Put someone like Parra in the rotation if you have to. Oh wait, he's already basically starting anyway with the innings he's pitching. This is a bad situation right now, and I don't see how it gets turned around.
  7. I know I continually harp on this, but they need a proven "big bopper" type in the outfield. Gabe Gross isn't that guy.
  8. Crush came later...he was added as a third member when Ax started having health problems.
  9. My question is if there is any actual proof that the kid is older. All I'm hearing about is some heresay and things some kids have said, who let's face it, can be easily wrong or mislead. Some kids are just bigger and look older than they are. Until you have some real proof, I wouldn't go making claims you can't back up.
  10. Jeter/A-Rod for Braun. Get it done, Doug!
  11. I know he's said that. I just wonder if he wants to risk continuing to be in the spotlight, and having his medical history scrutinized.
  12. One funny thing I heard him say on the D-List last week was that when Selig's office was being cleared out at County Stadium, they found the AL Championship Trophy from '82 buried under a bunch of papers. I don't know if that is funny or sadly ironic.
  13. I always thought Dahmer looked a bit like Paul Molitor.
  14. Don't feel bad...it can take a while when you're starting out. I graduated from college in May '02, and because the economy was relatively awful at the time, I couldn't find much work with my degree in speech communications. I would've had to move really far away to find anything in my field at all, so I ended up settling for a retail job, and worked there for about two years, before getting something better. At least I got sales experience, and some good discounts on some cool electronics, if not much else. I know that's not the kind of answer you're looking for, but just remember that you're only on the start of a long road. It's not going to happen overnight.
  15. I'm thinking he's done after this year. He has the home run record, and doesn't need all the scrutiny anymore. He'll tease signing with another club this off-season, then make a speech about how his body is starting to wear down and he's accomplished what he wanted to, and call it a career.
  16. Here's kind of an aside question: Do people here think we've achieved true parity in baseball with the compensation picks and other factors? Or will things shift back once the big market teams adjust, and we'll be back to New York, LA, Boston, etc. dominating baseball? (I know those places still do to an extent, but you also have teams like Milwaukee, Cleveland, Colorado, etc. contending now).
  17. I am not sure about the NBA (I just don't follow basketball at all), but in the NFL, if I understand correctly, the player's union basically gave up a lot in order to secure the right to free agency. This included the salary cap, and is why the NFL owners have a lot more leverage with the players than the MLB owners do with their players, if I'm not mistaken.
  18. Ditto, +1 on the slowness issues. I seem to notice that more frequently since the change to yuku, honestly.
  19. Wright for Braun would arguably be pointless. I mean, you'd just be swapping two young 3Bs with huge upside, and taking a gamble on who is going to go a little further than the other.
  20. The whole notion of brewerfan.net being predjudiced is pretty silly. I think the guy was just trolling, really. If anything, this board is overprotective and hypersensitive in some regards, but I understand the reasons for that.
  21. Yeah, it isn't working for some reason.
  22. I don't view Gabe as a permanent solution for the Brewers. I think he could be a decent stopgap, though.
  23. I think that would drive me nuts...granted, I don't watch much else on FSN other than the Brewers, but it would be annoying seeing all that Minnesota stuff when they could have the Wisconsin stuff on.
  24. Hah, guess that one isn't going for too much yet.
  25. I've never heard of anyone actually making more than a few dollars with any of those sites. Doesn't seem like it would be worth the time, IMO. Maybe you could donate plasma or something?
