  1. Yeah...more often than not the spray charts are a good indication of where the ball is going to be hit.
  2. Well, Braun and Gallardo are probably two of the most popular players on the team right now (Braun especially...I know I want a Braun replica jersey myself). Makes sense that they would be hot sellers right now. Any Joe Dillon jerseys out there yet? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  3. Yeah...as bad as the Brewers have been lately, they don't really have a huge glaring need, other than more production from their offense, and better pitching from their staff. There isn't anyone out there that is a realistically better alternative than what they have.
  4. Well, let's think about that...if you're in a situation where you're risking a broken neck, is not having a helmet on really going to be safer? Just sounds like an empty excuse to me.
  5. It's just weird since the best argument for not wearing them is "I don't like to wear them." Yes, we live in a free country, but there are still things you sometimes have to follow in order to enjoy that freedom. I don't see how having to wear a helmet is really hindering someone's enjoyment of the open road.
  6. Yeesh...that story makes me rethink my plan to someday buy a 20 pack if I would still be that unimportant to the people at Miller Park. That is just terrible customer service. It shouldn't matter if you're a season ticket holder for years, or just buy a couple tickets a season, everyone should at least be shown common courtesy at respect, and the fact you didn't get that, at least initially, is pretty irritating.
  7. Motorcyclists seem to be full of excuses for a lot of things, like putting loud pipes on their bikes so people can supposedly here them better. Yeah, because I'm not just going to see you in front of me, I really need your loud bike going through the neighborhood at all hours. The idea that a helmet is going to affect peripheral vision is pretty lame, because you can find helmets that won't do that. I'm surprised the insurance companies don't just step in and say they won't insure people if helmets aren't required, like seatbelts in cars.
  8. I don't know...if the kid was clearly visible, that's one thing, but this kind of sounds like it might be a freak accident. I'm not saying the police officer shouldn't face some penalty, but I don't know he should necessarily be locked up for a long time.
  9. Worst move by the Brewers ever, IMO. You don't let a guy like that walk if you can possibly help it, and they could have.
  10. Yeesh...I think we pay Charter like 14.00 bucks a month for our HD-DVR box, specifically to have the DVR service enabled. Kind of silly.
  11. I guess that's why I don't get why it hasn't happened yet. There are so many "do gooders" in state legislatures and such, you'd think a bill would pass at some point requiring helmets. Is the motorcycle lobby that powerful that they can get stuff like that blocked?
  12. Pretty sad. Sounds like someone at least tried to stop him and he did it anyway. I don't want to start an argument, because maybe it wouldn't have helped in this situation, but I'm surprised it's not required to wear helmets while riding a motorcycle.
  13. I don't know that they would get swept, but given how they are playing recently, and looking at the recent record, they would probably lose in four or five games (I know, not much consolation). I wonder if this team is mentally fatigued or feeling the pressure of first place getting to them. I hate to think like that, but I'm just scratching my head at this point otherwise.

  15. I'd probably buy one for the irony at 10 bucks.
  16. I know people like to joke about not letting Yost manage, etc...but can we get off the Yost bashing for a little bit? There's a lot of reasons the Brewers have been losing lately, and none of them are Ned Yost. The batters have to hit, and the pitchers have to make pitches when they need to. Last night's loss had nothing to do with Yost, and neither have most of the games this year.
  17. It's amazing in 2007 that people still have to deal with problems like this, isn't it? I blame the government partly for not doing enough to increase competition.
  18. There are some legitimate businesses that run good eBay accounts, and I don't see anything wrong with that. (I'm talking about the people with legitimate store fronts, running a real internet business dedicated to eBay, etc). However, there's quite a few people just attempting to make a living off eBay with no real plan, and it's pretty ridiculous. I also don't get the thing about people collecting tons of bobbles to resell. Do these things really get that much money anymore? I mean, you're buying these tickets, spending all this time at the park to get these bobbles, etc. Is it really that profitable? Seems like that time could be better spent going out and advancing a real career.
  19. Anyone else notice that the board seems to be loading much more slowly since the Yuku switch, at least occasionally? I like the new board, but it seems like the forums load a lot slower now...I'm on a high speed connection that is working fine with other websites, so that's not the issue. Maybe this will clear up as some of the kinks get worked out.
  20. Are people really that eager to offer Sheets a huge contract extension right now? 4yrs/$60million, as suggested...seems like a big price to pay, especially considering he's on the DL (again) right now. Yes, I know, he's our guy and he has great stuff, once struck out 17 guys in a game three years ago, etc. I just don't know if the Brewers can afford to take such a gamble on him at this point, though. To add to that, really quick, I love the idea of Bobby Abreu with the Brewers...he'd finally give the team another elite bat which I've been saying this team needs ever since Lee get traded last July (yes, I know Braun and Fielder, but you can't count on the young guys completely as this season and last have shown). I'd do Capuano for Abreu, definitely.
  21. I like the idea. I would think if the Brewers would get him, Hall would be moved to LF since DeJesus plays CF already. However, that's not really a problem either way. Seems like DeJesus could be a cheaper upgrade to Jenkins (whom I believe is gone after this season).
  22. I view a lot of the booing of former players as a little more tongue in cheek than anything. I don't think most of the people booing someone like Brady Clark actually hate the guy.
  23. Well, technically Koskie is still on the team... The thing to keep in mind is that malls generally aren't a place to get a great deal on anything. The rent those stores pay is pretty crazy, plus paying lots of employees, overhead costs, etc. They probably can't discount those jerseys anymore without losing money, as stupid as that sounds.
  24. Maybe there were rumors before the trade deadline, but I doubt anything is imminent now.
  25. I like your moves overall. At least they are different. One thing though...I like Byrnes, a bit, but I bet he gets more than 4yr/$32million. I could be wrong, though. I am also not sure where this idea of converting Linebrink into a closer is coming from. If I'm not mistaken, he's never been a closer in his career, and doesn't seem like he has really dominant closer "stuff." If we can't re-sign Cordero, I'd probably let Linebrink walk as well, take the draft picks, and either try Turnbow as closer again (I know, I know...) or go out and sign a slightly cheaper option.
