  2. RoCo, I think I'd throw Arizona into that group last year too. I think Arizona, WI, UK, and Duke from last year would all be clear-cut #1s this year.
  3. Random question for you jhart. Who are the Panthers going to rely on for their "bigs" next year and rebounding with Tiby and Panoske graduating? I like what they're going to have on the perimeter next year - just wondering what they'll have down low, existing guys, transfers, etc?

  5. Right on cue, Segovia gets a double right away tonight. Nice. You're up Demi. Edit: You beat me Mass! I love it!
  6. So which will happen first? -Demi Orimoloye talks a walk -Joantgel Segovia gets an extra base hit

  8. Man, with what Nathan Kirby just did, and now Gilbert Lara, Jake Gatewood, and Marcos Diplan having big nights, I'm borderline giddy.
  9. I don't get the teflon coating Jack Z. has in some folks' thinking. Who exactly did he hit on? Fielder, Weeks, Braun, Hardy, Hart, & Gallardo. That's pretty much it. And most of those were home runs before they ever played a game. Thankfully, they made up enough of a core to build a team around for a few good playoff runs. Under Jack Z., the Brewers drafted lots of all-or-nothing hitters and had an absolutely miserable time developing almost any decent pitchers. In all, it's really those 6 guys named that give Jack Z. his reputation & any credibility. Beyond that.... hmmmm..... In the end, I actually agree with the whole sentence IF you just remove the Jack Z. qualifier from it. The Brewers have to draft & develop LOTS better, period. I'm not necessarily a Jack Z apologist, but under his watch, didn't he draft Lorenzo Cain, Michael Brantley, Jonathan Lucroy, Brett Lawrie, and Jake Odorizzi?
  10. A guy I always sort of liked was 3B Adam Heether. He had an 829 and 902 OPS in his age 26 & 27 seasons at AAA - with very good OBPs. He also, by all reports, was a good defensive 3B. Just sort of wished he could have had a cup of coffee in the majors. But he fell off somewhat quickly after those seasons.
  11. Thanks for the effort brewcrewdue80. It was interesting to compare my thoughts to your's on these prospects. The 3 pitchers that I just can't help but like from the High School ranks even though I haven't really seen them mocked near the Brewers are Justin Hooper, Dakota Chalmers, and Triston McKenzie. All 3 are in my personal Top 15 at this point, but they all could have too strong of college commitments for all I know. We'll see... And I can't help but want the Brewers to take either Kyle Cody (Kentucky) or Mitchell Traver (TCU) with their 3rd or 4th picks. A couple of big, low mileage, high-upside college pitchers who interest me. Colbyjack pointed both out earlier in this thread.

  15. Positive vibes. Let's do this. Turn the tide. Let's make it happen. Lunatic fringe. I like baseball. Eye of the Tiger. It just doesn't matter. Seize the Carp. Go Crew!

  17. I think all 3 fit into the 5-10 range.
  18. Exciting draft. I just have to remember to be patient with Gatewood and Harrison - seems like they will need some work with their Hit Tool.
  19. A college guy I sort of like here is Zech Lemond from Rice.
  20. I did read a few tweets here and there that said Freeland's medical results were bad and that a lot of people expected him to drop because of it. No idea if it's true or not...

  24. http://ht.ly/rrSbf I noticed that Jim Callis had a Wisconsin High School kid at #49 overall in his most recent top 50. Jeren Kendall, a 5'10" CF prospect who hits from the left side, from Holmen High School a little north of the La Crosse/Onalaska area.
  25. Yikes. Way to finish strong Jose Pena!
