  1. Well Mona and I will say this: I believe Mona can hit a little better than Ortiz but Ortiz's consistent D will be missed.
  2. Joey Ortiz singled in that at-bat, but was hobbled when he reached first base and drew a visit from an athletic trainer and Murphy. He remained in the game, but was replaced at shortstop by Andruw Monasterio in the bottom of the seventh. “It’s pretty painful,” Murphy said. Ortiz exits early (knee), unlikely to start Wednesday https://www.mlb.com/news/joey-ortiz-exits-brewers-game-after-fouling-ball-off-right-knee
  3. Owen Caissie moved up the ranks at a pretty good clip. Minor league stats: https://www.milb.com/player/owen-caissie-683357
  4. Hardly any new posts after yesterday's games, nearly a ghost town. But to be honest, It was a long day yesterday for Brewer fans, the only thing that could have made it worse was a rain delay with the same outcome. “When you take your deuce, you don’t sit there and look at it. You flush it. And move on” -Jalen Hurts
  5. I don't think he is playing tomorrow, Mona will do just fine but curious who will get called up.
  6. Glad you said it cuz he seems to be a fan favorite on this board.
  7. Yes I agree but we needed an arm with the DH.
  8. We came back on the Mets we can come back on the Cubs.
  9. Boyd with 46 pitches already in 2 innings. We will get to him for sure.
  10. Brewers are getting Cub fans ready for football season.
  11. Maybe the Brewers are doing well because we have only about 4 or 5 players who play every game? As for Patrick, I'd rather pitch him than another starter on short rest. That shouldn't even be arguable with our standings lead and also having a doubleheader today. I said earlier in the season when someone asked the exact same question, "these players aren't machines where if they break down you can just go out and buy a spare part."
  12. That was the point of my post. You can't pitch one of your top 3 starters every single game like they did in the 1930's. Patrick will have a fresh arm also.
  13. Chourio/Collens coming back soon. Collens should play one of them today.
  14. Why on earth is this a tough game to throw Chad Patrick with a 9 game lead??? You make comments and never give one single reason as to why it is a bad idea? Heck there are 38 games left with a 9 game lead. If this isn't a good time to use him there never will be. This is a perfect time to pitch him. We just can't pitch our top 3 twice per week.
  15. He has been hitting well in the month of August and is coming around to the extra speed in the MLB compared to AAA and as was said a decent multiple position player.
  16. I agree 100% with Chourio in center, that's where the best fit for Jackson is. I think he is a sub par defender in the corners where the ball hooks more and he has trouble with.
  17. Tommy Pham at it again: Benches clear after Pham, Heineman exchange words in Pittsburgh. I say it's time for the MLB to take action against a guy who thinks and acts like Conor McGregor on a baseball field. https://www.mlb.com/news/benches-clear-during-game-between-blue-jays-and-pirates
