Not sure if that statement is correct because Contreras has 17 hits and 2 walks in the last 15 games. Also 8 hits in the last 7 games .286 which is better than his career numbers.

Absolutely correct, if Turang went down we'd be in a big world of hurt. If Ortiz went down we'd need a starting SS. Not much backup at all for those two with the playoffs looming.

Murphy said he hopes Hasse clears waivers and they could bring him up again for the playoffs like they did last year. On WTMJ radio this morning. So just a poker move I'm guessing.
