  1. Did you see the stat about the brewers home runs. 76 homer 50 are solo shots. Does that seem like an inordinate amount of solo home runs? No idea where to get that kind of data to compare other teams, but it sure seems like we are hitting more solo HR than normal, if that's the right word.
  2. Count me firmly in the camp that Braun should not be batting 3rd. So far he has shown horrible plate discpline. Makes Bill Hall look like Wade Boggs. 13 ks now and 2 BB. Idea lineup vs RHP Hart Hardy Prince Hall Jenkins Braun Estrada Counsel SP Braun and Estrada could be flipped, it doesn't matter.
  3. I'm assuming his only shot at financial security is to be on one of those reality TV shows. I mean honestly, who would hire this guy? He seems to generate a negative reaction, so I don't even think he could get hired as a publicity stunt.
  4. If I ever meet Jon Miller in person I may have to punch him in the face for comparing what Maris and Aaron went through in setting their home records compared to what Bonds is "going through".
  5. That's the smart veteran play we brought him on board to do. Especially going against a guy with a 7.00 ERA. We need to take aggressive chances on the basepaths b/c we might not score against him this game.
  6. I guess this goes under the heading of not standing in the way of a guy that is not part of our plans from playing in the big leagues. I guess that makes us a team that guys like Closser will want to sign with in the future. Would you be upset if you were an AL West team, that the Padres and the Brewers gave away players the A's wanted/needed for essentially nothing. Wouldn't that tick you off a little bit and perhaps gum up future trading opportunities? Just curious.
  7. The real point is they need one more reliable BP arm. They can't go the whole season with just Co-co, T-bow and Wise being the go to guys. Season is just too long. I really think that's why they gave Acquino all those chances in the begining of the season. They were hoping he would be the answer, and who knows, he still might be. Or perhaps Capellean. Who knows.
  8. Does Rick S know our manager's name is Ned Yost?
  9. Day to day with a knee contusion per CC.
  10. Villy goes back to the dugout," Well I got my man" Thank you jenks.
  11. Braun only helps if he plays over Counsel, given what we've seen tonight, what makes any of you think that would happen?
  12. Anybody watching the end of the Balt-Oak game. Very odd ending. Orioles down 2 get guys on second and 3rd no outs. Next guy strikes out. Roberts singles, guys one first and third Orioles down one. Mora than bunts?! back to the pitcher, not sure if it was a failed squeeze or not, but run doesn't score and roberts gets to second. Then they walk Markakis intentionally to load the bases, which I would think is questionable, to pitch to Tejada. Tejada grounds out. Like to see that inning on sportscenter.
  13. Isn't Villy supposed to be a long man too? If he gets a hit, there's a chance to score a run and be down only one. I'd rather be in that spot than down 2 with a bunch of guys on my bench. Heck, Hart puts a charge into one and we're up 1. Angry. Very angry.
  14. Why do you think Braun would be starting over Counsel with Yost running things?
  15. New slogan for the 2007 Brewers: Come watch our great depth rot on the bench. Arrgghhhh!!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif
  16. Very inconsistent. Go to the bullpen so early, but don't go to the bench here. Makes no sense. Normally I defend Yost but this is dumb.
  17. Is this a playoff game? What's going on? I thought this would be the game to keep Vargas in, since we're going against their ace anyway. I guess Dessens needs some work.
  18. If I had to put blame on players/coaches tonight, #1 would be Jenkins for grounding out into the DP with guys on first and 3rd and 1 out. All he needs is a lazy fly ball and we've got the lead. Then T-Bow and Coco close the door, and this acquino business never happens. The brew crew stranded too many baserunners today. Frustrating loss, but not a big deal in the scheme of things. i doubt we'll see Aquino in any kind of important spot for a long time. April is a good month for getting the BP roles down. Now Yost knows what Acquino is good for, and it's mop up duty only.
  19. Note to all, if we get back to the playoffs, don't storm the field unless we win the whole thing. Bad karma after game 5 when the fans stormed the field.
  20. I don't know what they have that we want, but it sure looks like they need a catcher. Coste and Ruiz are banged up. Only other guy on thier 40 man at catcher is a rule V guy, Ryan Budde, and I guess he's banged up too. All they have is Rod Barajas. Philly catchers banged up
  21. So much depends on what happens in the off season. Last year everyone had Hall penned in at 3rd base to start the season. Then Koskie popped into our lap. So who knows. I doubt Ned knows either.
  22. Seriously, how was this Yost's fault. We got within 1 strike of getting out of the inning without any runs scoring. Loading the bases to set up the DP did not lose the ball game. Throwing an 0-2 meatball did.
