  1. Thankfully, we were spared. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  2. It's a compromise I'd be willing to make since I have the team, and not the individual in mind. It is best for the team that Bill Hall, who has proven that he has been able to play three positions quite well (possibly OF as well, with a bit more practice in Spring Training) move around because he has the most athletism and has proven to be adequate at doing so. As to why not Hardy? One, he hasn't played any position but SS from the minors on, you can't just stick a guy somewhere and expect him to do an adequate job, this isn't MLB 2005 or whatever videogame you love to play, this is real life. I think we can both agree that Bill Hall is more athletic and is able to handle the position switches at a higher degree of sucess. I could easily see him getting half (or more than half) of the starts at 3rd, and giving a breather to Hardy, Weeks (and possibly some of the OFs) on occasion. That would probably have him in the lineup as much as anyone. I really don't see the reason to tie him to a position where we have another possible "rising star". Why not have both in the lineup? Exactly, whatever role helps the team the most.
  3. I didn't say keep him out of the starting lineup, I said move him around the diamond, since he has the athletisim to do that, where as the rest of our players don't. Don't anchor him to one position.
  4. Did you read the rest of my thread? I was complimenting the guy on his season and where I thought he best fit. But no, you read the first two lines and stopped because Bill Hall is god and all of us must worship him. (400 posts, yipeeeeeeee)
  5. Yeah because we should make all judgements about a player on a week long hotstreak. He's a solid player, we all agree with you on that. If Hardy went 4-4 tonight I seriously doubt that I'd see you on here writing about it. Why? Because you have a personal vendetta against him as has become very clear in this thread. That said, I think Hall is a very very valuable player for next year, because he can play a half dozen different positions and do it at a high level. I think that because of this athletism its probably best that he is in the role that he is in. If he was the starting shortstop, we wouldn't have someone to fill in at the other positions whenever a break is needed or a pitching matchup is infavorable. J.J. Hardy couldn't do that, Weeks couldn't do that, Branyan couldn't do that...for that reason I think our team is best with him changing positions instead of playing only one.
  6. This did not need to be said, and I take it very personally that you would even imply that. That said, Hardy has been the superior SS offensively and defensively since the All Star Break. Did he take his lumps early in the season? Yes, but that was expected. But he appears over that now and is on his way to provide consistent solid numbers. If he hasn't, prove to me that he has not put up better numbers than Hall since then? I think you'd be hard pressed to find them. Also as many point out on this site, steals are not as valuable as most percieve them to be. Hardy is what he is, a solid #2 hitter. He doesn't strike out at near the rate of Hall. When Hall is not "in the zone" he drags any offensive production down with him by striking out over and over again. I'm not saying I don't think Hall is a solid player. I believe the Brewers are in a great position in that they have a lot of strength in the area of middle infield. Plus, as many have continued to point out, Hall will be able to get a large number of starts at 3B. He has the athletesism to be moved around anywhere on the diamond, so he will get a solid number of at bats. Having someone that flexible is great. But if we glued him down at SS, who would we have to fill in that role on the team. Hardy? Didn't think so.
  7. Here's a question, should Kane Davis be with the Crew next year? He's had a few miserable outings, but he still has managed to keep his ERA around 3, and the guy can absolutely throw smoke. Any opinions?
  8. This is the worst lineup I've seen in a long time. Now I'm sure there are reasons for it (Jenkin's back, Hardy's foot, Week's hand) but wow, I'm usually pretty laid back on judging managerial decision, but this one blows chunks. Although I have to admit that it is cool to see N. Cruz in the lineup, even if he hasn't had that first big league knock yet. Only this Brewer's lineup could put Wandy and shutout in the same sentance.
  9. There is something we can both agree on. (Thanks for complaining that you weren't complaining http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif )
  10. He doesn't have a choice, he doesn't have much of a bullpen left to pitch with. That's not something to pin on Ned, that's something to pin on the team for not scoring more runs last night before the entire bullpen was spent. (Funny how even when we are winning by 12, someone finds something to complain about.)
  11. Shush, no jinxing things please.
  12. The big game is tomorrow, when we go over the .500 mark for good. Tonight is great, but I don't want to see it end here like it has in times past. Time to get on a tear and leave this .500 mark choking on our dust.

  15. So you're saying that I got a chance. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/pimp.gif P.S. Look at avitar for my reaction. Gigity Gigity Gigity...Allllright.
  16. Could we get a description/ picture of Hardy's gf? I'm stuck in the barren wasteland of MN right now and can't watch the game on TV.
  17. Victory! Tomorrow we go for .500, again.
  18. Bill Hall is hot today. Let's go rookie, knock him in!
