  1. Sorry, I guess I don't know when the proper time to "lemur" a thread was as I've only been around for about 7 months and have never lemured before. Sounds feasible enough. I'll leave the lemuring to the pros. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif P.S. I'm not mad, just wanted to make that clear. I love the whole lemur thing, I think it's hilarious.
  2. Are my pictures offensive to someone? Because I just had a post deleted...I would love to have an explanation as to why it was, I'm not angry, just curious.
  3. If Brian wants it that way, it's his website. Actually I agree 100% with him. It's not like there haven't been umpteen million threads that have debated whether Branyan is good or not. Go to the "Man we are going to have a lot of HRs next year" thread and you'll find that argument raging already this morning. Starting that thread was beating a dead horse, and as the saying goes a dead horse ain't getting any deader. http://img1.vunct.net/albums/Eman_Akcali/beating_a_dead_horse.jpg
  4. Take that Drew Olsen! Although now I imagine he'll write an article claiming that he gave the Crew their "clutch" abilities.
  5. Think they'll pitch around Brady? So they can face Hardy? Edit: Guess not.
  6. You look new here, so here's some informative reading, Gifted.
  7. I've been reading what you've said for quite a while, and that's just an observation. I'm sure you don't hate Ned Yost, but your constant complaining about every little decision he makes sure makes it seem that way.
  8. HOFFY You do the same thing every game it seems. All the time you find something to complain about and Yost is your usual target. Personally you seem like one of the biggest, if not the biggest Yost complainer on this site and I can understand why Ralph would say something like that after hearing the 'Yost sucks' record playing every single night they lose. And of course your first line when anyone points out your amount of complaining is "oh, here is Ned's family." Maybe we just feel that Yost isn't doing such a horrible job as you seem to think. A job of a manager is difficult and it is very easy to second guess him, as you have shown all of us. Just don't get all defensive when people disagree with your thoughts on Yost, because not everyone here thinks he's a bad manager.
  9. I will say that tonight was more of an exception, than how this site is normally run. Normally I haven't seen too many threads shot down with legitimate material in which people had put legitimate effort into producing. Tonight however seemed to cross a line and that's why I piped up. I can imagine just how frustrating it would be for someone to consider my posts as not being worthwhile enough to keep around for further posts, and I can imagine that the majority of those in charge here at BF.net would not like to treat others with that disregard. I guess, my thought is this. You have the power as moderators to lock and close threads and there are definitly times you should use it (f.e. when I started a second game thread one min. after another member). Just use a little more thought and judgement next time when doing so. P.S. Thanks for all that you do for keeping this site, clean and family friendly. You are all to be commended for that.
  10. People come to this site to post their thoughts. Unless you have two threads with exactly the same content (f.e. Trade Jenkins) or contains inappropriate comments or language, I see no reason why a thread should be closed. As far as Brewer Fever's post. There was no real thread started about Durrington and Macgruder's role on our team and how we should have improved in that regard. It's a decent topic to bring up. Especially since there is opportunity for different opinions, like my own, that our best prospects are best served playing everyday than once or twice a week. But because someone decided to close a perfectly good thread, I wasn't able to hash out my thoughts on the subject and that is plain annoying. Its the moderator's job to police these threads. It is not their job to decide who's conversation is worthy to be on the site, and who's isn't. That's the elitist attitude that many want to see removed from this site.
  11. If we can't have a backup catcher who can hit, at least we should have one who can field his position. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif
  12. I've been thinking the same thing.
  13. Wow, does the complaining ever end. It took a perfect throw to get him, Kudos to the Mets players.
  14. Like I said before...try to win the game in the ninth with the top of the order.
  15. A- RB striking out would not help out at all, which is why having him and his high strikeout rate bat would more likely hurt than help. B- RB bunt? Are you kidding me? The guy is totally inept at doing so. When you are down two runs you play to tie in my opinion, down one you play for the win. Three runs is a lot of runs to score in one inning, especially with the bottom of the order up. Ned made a solid move. I nominate you for Whiner of the game.
  16. It was the RIGHT move. With the top of the order coming up in the ninth, you play for a tie in the 8th and win it against their crappy bullpen in the ninth. I read your post about not liking it. So let's imagine they left Branyan in and he strikes out like normal. Then we score NONE.
  17. Whine Whine Whine Whine Whine Yost played for the tie, yes. Had it worked, we would have had a tie ballgame with the top of the order in the 9th. I think he made the right move. All of you second guessers wouldn't last a second trying to make the decisions that Yost has to make during the ballgame, I'm thankful he doesn't listen to your advise before making his decision.
  18. Wow that's funny. I just about died choking on my lunch.
  19. For your info, this guy was hitting over .350 in AAA. I'd say that puts him at the level of an Obie or Brooks. Read the stats before you post please.
  20. Sorry, but not every move Yost makes is gonna work out perfectly as you would like it too. Lehr handles the bat well, and I imagine (since I didn't get to see the play) that the Mets infielders were pulled in (which makes getting a hit much easier). I think we are often WAY too critical of moves Yost makes during that game. If Lehr bunts that ball and we don't score that inning, I'd be willing to bet money that some of us would be on here complaining about why he would bunt with a solid hitting pitcher. If we are going to be critical on Yost, I think it has to be on how he is getting his players prepared for games so they can play at their full potential (which I think is his biggest flaw as a manager).
  21. Actually, according to JP, Lehr is a good hitting pitcher who even has some power. I don't think you can fault the offense in this one, they scored 8 runs. 8 runs should win you a ballgame.
  22. I agree. Players like Eveland, Jenks, Clark, Lee, Weeks and Branyan all had a great night tonight. I have no doubt that this team will continue to close in on being a very good team. That said, it is very frustrating to see the pitchers (and Bill Hall) blow this one tonight. In the future I really believe that nights like this will be fewer and much further between as our starting rotation will get stronger (Eveland and perhaps a FA instead of Ohka and Santos) which will keep the bullpen in the pen much more. However that doesn't take the sting out of tonight's lose since it was a game the Crew should have won. They almost seemed to bend over backwards to lose it tonight.
  23. Exactly, especially when your Major League pitcher walks a player on 4 pitches with the bases loaded. At least let him put it in play and let your defense make a play. Pitching like that deserves a demotion.
