  1. He can replace a DL'd player, if need be.
  2. Ray Ray! Just for the love of God, don't use him for anything other than a LOOGY.
  3. He let at least 2 base runners on in each of his last 4 appearances.
  4. I'm going to re-iterate one last time. Please leave conversation relating to in-game decisions in the in-game threads, and Yost conversation to the Yost thread. Thanks....
  5. Anyone played this yet? I'm not a giant first-person shooter fan, but this game is a must-have.
  6. Stop yelling, and please keep on topic. There's already a yay/nay Yost thread, so lets please use that for criticisms specifically regarding Ned Yost.
  7. I know it's the venting thread, but abbreviations for blocked words are still against site policy...
  8. I agree with you though that "conventional wisdom" shouldn't be accepted just because it's the way that's worked for managers.
  9. Not always... things like 'play for the win on the road' are still good ideas.
  10. In Yost's defense, he uses Coco in blowouts when he hasn't pitched in a while to keep him sharp. I totally agree with doing that. I disagree vehemently, however, with the new-school approach of using closers only in the 9th and only in save opps. I hope it's a trend that managers start bucking so it ceases to be "conventional wisdom".
  11. I was class of '95, so that would be well after my time...
  12. Yeah. Four of the most boring years of my life. I got along with everyone pretty well, but opportunities as far as classes go were VERY limited. There were like 4 people in my programming class (the only one they had), so they had to cancel it.
  13. I was born in Racine, but my family moved to Raymond when I was 1. Went to Raymond elementary, Union Grove HS, then went to UW-Whitewater.... I lived downtown for a year and a half, then moved out to Waukesha. There was a Subway in a little mini-mall on Hwy 11 and Willow Road. I'm pretty sure it's gone now. I worked there from '94-'95.
  14. Subway in Sturtevant was my first gig. I can't complain too much, it was always dead, and there was no grill.
  15. Does anyone have a better option than "Not Johnny"?
  16. So you don't think his performance since his MRI is injury-related?
  17. It's not just that Wicky's a headcase, he also might be hurt. His MRI on August 10th didn't reveal any damage in his forearm, but since that point, his WHIP has been atrocious. Would he even be eligible for the postseason roster? I know there's some DL issues you can play with, but I'm not sure if the shell game is workable.
  18. Adding insult to injury was the commercial with "Nothing's gonna stop us now" before the bottom of the 9th. I've never hated Jefferson Starship as much in my life as I do now. And I hated them greatly already.
  19. Anyone know of a decent effigy store?
  20. It's not always that difficult to acquire a new IP address. However, in this case, the two IP addresses came from the same employer (which is not a very large one), same posting style, same username reference... same "confrontational" attitude. The sad thing is that he's still claiming it's "some other guy at work". Total bjames-ian sociopathic complex.
  21. Well, he would need to be protected from the rule 5 anyway, so they would have to add him before December if they wanted to keep him. With Parra on the DL, another left-hander makes sense.
  22. I attract sociopaths by the score. I have no idea why.
