  1. C'mon now, lets get 5 and tie this thing up! Err, ahh, six...lets get six.
  2. One more runner and he won't be there to rally against.
  3. You know? The Brewers score 5 in the first and usually by this point in the game they are clinging to a 1 run lead - maybe. The Brewers can barely get a runner to 2nd. At least DD was able to go deep in the game after that disaster.
  4. I'm actually with BrewCity. I have a good feeling about these next 6 games, in spite of the major league debut and veteran southpaw in the next couple days.
  5. A history of guys (not just Brewers) who are "day to day," or "may mis a start or two" with muscle strains, tendonitis, soreness, etc., only to see them go under the knife a couple weeks later and miss 6-12 months.
  6. Obviously I have my doubts that it will actually turn out to be a muscle strain.
  7. And I thought I knew everything. My spin detector has gone into overdrive with this lat thing, and I smell surgery. I don't know, maybe I have just paid too much attention the injuries of Prior and Wood - where they are just going to "miss a start or two" - 15 starts in a row.
  8. Katuluu is clearly the man.
  9. The distance from the "lat" to the shoulder (if any) is inversly proportional to the positive spin the Brewers are putting on this. If Lat is just a technical term for a muscle, tendon, ligament in the shoulder, we ain't gonna see him for a while.
  10. My money is still on shoulder surgery, but even if it is just a strain (kind of like good ol' tendonitis), with only a month left in the season, I gotta believe its doubtful he pitches any more this year. Maybe he'll be ready for the playoffs though.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif Guess we'll find out soon enough. Hopefully it is just some sort of muscle strain.
  11. . Riiight...because we've never seen anything like that before, where a guy is cruising along, throws one pitch, and whamo, he's next seen playing soft toss 9 montsh later. If doesn't have surgery, I'll eat his hat.
  12. Its ok to hope for the best, but I think we all better expect the worst. My money is on Sheets not pitching for the Brewers anytime before next July or so.
  13. Well, how 'bout that? So what are we thinking, surgery sometime in September, and we'll see him again sometime after the All-Star break next year? Milwaukee Brewers Baseball!
  14. When he's been on, yes. He did have his head handed to him a couple starts ago though.
  15. Milwaukee Brewers Baseball!
  16. So, at this rate, should be an 85 pitch, 9 hit, CG shutout. Guess I'll watch the stupid pre-season game. This one's over.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  17. With Clark coming back, we don't even know what the roster is going to look like for tonight's game. There is a very good chance Prince won't even be on the team tonight.
  18. So which team are we going to see tonight/this weekend? The one that took a dump against the Reds and cardinals, or the one that won 4 of 6 against the Mets and Phillies? There is no question they have reached a critical point in the season. September is less than a week away. School starts next week, and football right after that. With a bad weekend, the Brewers really could disappear from sight. Falling back to 3-5 games below .500 at this point could spell and end to the interest that is currently hanging by a thread. On the other hand, winning 2 of 3 (I won't even mention the S word), probably buys them a few more days to do something big to have people keep paying attention. One good thing is the fact that everyone will pretty much know where they stand by game time. With Clark coming back and the pending roster move, anyone on the team when the game starts will more than likely be here the rest of the season. I think from a confidence, chemistry standpoint that should be a good thing. Note to Doug Melvin: Remember the ovations Fielder gets when he comes up to bat when deciding on today's roster move.
  19. Since there is no conflicting local or national broadcast, I believe the game will be on TBS locally. I also heard Craig Coshun on the radio today saying the game was on TBS.
  20. He was a 3B and made the move to LF, to accomodate Lowell I believe.
  21. Well dare I say, that prior to yesterday's game I said I though with a win in a game you'd most likely expect them to lose, it could be a lynch pin game for the rest of the year. Well, the way that one went last night, I am starting to think that could be that case. The Marlins gift wrapped that thing for the Brewers. Doesn't mean much if they go out and lay an egg today though. Too many times this season they have put themselves in position to turn a corner and have fallen flat on their faces. Will that trend ever change? If it is ever going to, today would appear to be the time. Six on a row, 10 of 12, something like that is what they need right now to continue to play meaningful games throughout September (barring a losing streak to match). They're playing well, they're at home, they have a favorable pitching match-up, all the signs point to this being the third game in that needed streak. The question is,do they have the stones to go out and get it done? They have crumbled in this position before. You want that 10th win Doug? Go out and get it.
  22. 0-4 w/4 K's. I can agree that walking him there would have been fine. I assume there was some rationale used to make that decision. Not sure what it is. The point is, without the pathetic defense, Ohka never would have been in that position. Even with the Weeks error, at wost, should have been runner on second with 2 out. Very different than 2nd and 3rd one out. That bad inning was caused by bad defense.
  23. Yeah,ok. Whatever you say. An error allowing Pierre to go to second. Followed by a pop up that obviously should have been caught by Hart. He's still gotta make pitches, but Ohka wasn't even given a chance in that inning. BTW, delgado hasn't exactly been hitting the cover off the ball recently.
