  1. Maybe I give the fans more credit/blame than they deserve, but IMO, the comments by Corey Hart suggest that the fans have a bigger impact than we might think. If they hadn't gone on the road to Philly (where they felt "looser") and laid a gigantic turd, these comments might have some prudence. Getting swept in 4 games doesn't back up the argument much though. edit: Also, look at their home/road splits from the past handful of years. Playing at Miller Park must not be that bad. This is just an example of a guy not wanting to admit his team is completing choking, so he finds something else to blame.
  2. This isn't really correct though. The Pirates haven't had a winning season since 1992 as an example. We've already been through this. The graphic was on a 'sport by sport' basis. The Brewers have the longest standing drought in baseball, the AZ Cardinals in football, etc.
  3. According to BP, by losing both games of the double-header, the Brewers managed to plummet 19% in their odds to make the postseason. Losing that kind of ground in one day is a pretty tough pill to swallow. One week ago, the Brewers had about an 87.5% chance to make the playoffs. Now, it's 48.7%.

  6. I would be livid if I was an Astros fan. And it's sad for Brewer fans as well. While the Brewers are pissing away their season, our biggest rival gets a free home game, in our stadium, and the biggest jerk in the league throws a no-hitter. What a disgrace.
  7. This is borderline unbelievable. It actually feels like they have no chance at all to win any games. Ever.
  8. Only a true nutcase would allow a 34-year-old to catch 27 innings in a span of about 30 hours. Seriously, Mike Rivera has played well when he's actually gotten a chance! I loathe you Ned Yost.

  10. Was that suppose to be in blue?I wish it was, but I really don't know. If the Brewers don't make the playoffs, and if Ned takes the fall (I can still imagine a scenario where they say "our record was better than the year before!" as proof he did a great job), it wouldn't surprise me to see something stupid like this. Reasoning would include historical ties to the franchise, knowledge of the team and the players, and experience from compiling a very impressive 213-211 managerial record in double-A. I'm warning you now, if you think Dale Sveum won't be in the running to manage the Brewers in 2009, I think you'll be disappointed.

  14. Perhaps logan would be more comfortable if we referred to it as a "September collapse" rather than a "second-half collapse."
  15. Maybe. Or maybe Dale Sveum. I don't know why, I just always liked Kremblas. He struck me as having a mind of his own, not something you can say about many people these days.

  19. I didn't know the game was this afternoon, so when I saw we had already lost, my torment was instantaneous rather than dragged out over several hours.
  20. For anybody who just clicked through on the link in this thread, you missed this on the Fox Sports homepage: http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/466/yostistoastjv7.jpg
  21. Sweet! Move Don Money up to Triple-A, and soon the organization will be filled with nothing but 1982 retreads! What a disappointment. Kremblas gets let go after one poor year, while others at the major league level are held to a much lower standard.

  25. Something else to consider is that it sure seems like a large portion of the booing is directed at, or caused by, Yost and his decision making. When Bill Hall is left in to face a RHP late in a game, and strikes out with guys on base, part of those boos have to be on Yost. It's doubtful that Durham, Counsell or somebody would be booed if they pinch hit and failed to deliver. Would Gagne have been booed as much if he wasn't constantly brought into high-leverage situations? Possibly not. What about when Ned fails to defensively replace Weeks late in a close game, and Weeks makes an error? Those boos are on Yost as much as anyone, in my book. He's alway putting players in a position to fail, and often times people are booing that as much as the failure itself.
