  1. If he leads the Brewers to the playoffs, I will be impressed, won over, and will admit I was wrong in my assesment that his managerial tactics are enough to hold a team back from making the playoffs. However, until the Brewers reach the playoffs - and if Ned continues to manage the way he has for 5+ years, no he won't win me over. 8-game winning streaks don't change my mind about anything, as long as he continues to do weird stuff like leave Kendall in to bat on Friday, make ill-advised starting pitching platoons, and pull the crap he did today.
  2. Oh my gosh. Trenni is saying that Ned isn't sure how important it is that the starting pitchers in the platoon are sharp? Or whether or not their starts are even good, as long as "the job is getting done"? What does that even mean? That he expects they won't be sharp or good, but they still hold some magical ability to win in their respective locations regardless?
  3. 7 runs and 0 runs. Practically the same.
  4. I really don't get it. If you're going to use McClung, why wait until the 7th inning? McClung can easily go 3+ innings, and if he had been brought in earlier, this game might be tied.
  5. After the Boston series would have been the ideal time to dump Ned. Now the Brewers are pretty much stuck with him. I'm confident he will cost the Brewers a playoff berth.
  6. But we won 8 straight games, so Ned is fine! Stop complaining. Blah, blah, blah... People really shouldn't be fooled by that winning streak. Ned Yost is still a stupid, stupid man. I still believe he will ultimately cost the team a playoff spot.
  7. Oh my God! Soup is still out there! Has Ned given up on this game???
  8. I thought that one possible advantage of this assinine pitching platoon was that the guy who wasn't making the starts would be available for long relief. Neither McClung nor Bush has made an appearance in a game they didn't start. So what the heck is the point? Today would have been an ideal situation to use McClung, but instead Suppan stays out there to get crushed. The whole thing is a stupid waste. Ned Yost is a dolt. Pathetic.
  9. Add Villanueva to that list for me. Like Ry said, I think Suppan is the 7th best starter on the staff.
  10. Why is Wolf being pulled? He hasn't given up 7 runs yet this inning...
  11. OMG. I want my girlfriend to have Ryan Braun's babies.
  12. That was amazing!! I love how they cut to the High Life dude jumping around, high-fiving people.
  13. Nobody's denying Melvin's role in keeping this bum on the roster. I'd much rather have Stetter.
  14. Coming into this appearance, Mota had gone a whole 1.1 innings consecutive innings without allowing a run. In the game before that, he allowed 4 runs and 2 homeruns in 1 inning of work. You're right, what else does the guy need to do to get some respect! BTW, he did a great job tonight leaving with 2 runners on. Luckily, Riske just bailed him out.
  15. Can't say it's very surprising to see Bush struggle tonight. What a surprise that the guy was lights out right up until being made to sit for 16 straight days. The home/road schedule is too off-balanced to try and do this idiotic platoon. Just pick one or the other. Starting pitchers seem to need to stay somewhat on schedule to remain effective. Ned really has a knack for taking something good and turning it rotten. He's like the bizarro King Midas. Billy Hall was showing signs of coming around by facing a lot of lefties, then Ned starts playing him everyday against righties and his production has gone right down the toilet. Bush and McClung were both pitching very well, so he puts them in some ill-advised home/road platoon, and it looks like it's going to affect them negatively as well. End this silly experiment!
  16. Don't you remember how Hall hit a game winning homerun with a pink bat??? And who cares that his OBP is under .290, when he actually gets on it's usually dramatic. Never mind that he is 1 for his last 18, that one hit was a game-winning homerun! He's heating up and he wins ballgames. Branyan is just a loser who hasn't been able to stick with a team.
  17. Cooper is insane. Braun is gonna kill one of these infielders soon. If not that, any kind of hard hit ball is gonna be a basehit...
  18. 1 for his last 17! Keep on playing him against righties... On a positive note, at least Cecil Cooper isn't our manager.
  19. *Sigh* Hall over Branyan against a RHP again? Why? His hot streak is over. Branyan is still MUCH better against righties. It's nice that Billy got lucky with a couple timely homeruns, but that doesn't change what these two are. Also, Mike Rivera needs to play more. I know that if we listened to Brian and Bill, that we should just assume Kendall is such a gamer that he could probably do a Forrest Gump style cross-country run every day between games, and still catch that evening - but come on. He's old. Rivera has done fine when he has played. Even Ted Simmons was acknowledging on the air that Kendall needs to start getting some time off. I know a bunch of people are gonna point to the 8-game winning streak and tell me to just shut up, but I still have HUGE concerns about Ned's decisions and the way he runs this ballclub.
  20. Instead of this, maybe you should actually explain why you thought leaving Kendall in to bat was the correct decision.
  21. Billy is now 1 for his last 16, including 5 strikeouts. His OBP remains firmly below 'the Tubby Line' at .290. Get rid of Branyan ASAP. We have no use for him anymore. Third-base is in good hands.
