True, until Chourio is back. The way Murphy uses his players Chourio, Mitchell, Frelick and even Perkins are going to get starts. Once Chourio is back innings in the OF get scarce.
Great question. Positionally I think they're in a tough spot because they have a bunch of bats in the system a year or more away. I think they're even more reluctant than usual to move pitching depth for a bat because those guys aren't going to be around long. Same reason why they dealt Durbin I think.
Yep. It's an improvement over his last one because it was at least on a line and not 30 feet in the air, but I don't know how you get to MLB as an outfielder and not know to hit the cutoff man. 2nd time tonight.
Part of me wonders if they just don't want Lara sitting as much as he might in Milwaukee. Jones was hitting well enough in AAA that I get why he got a chance but when you miss the cutoff man and let a runner advance to 3rd on a play where you have no chance to get a guy at home in a stretch where every run is like pulling a tooth then I've seen enough.
Not trying to be unkind but I just don't believe Jones is the best choice for that roster spot. Couple of tough luck outs but not a good night for him.
Nice job getting through 6 when all he had left was the fastball. Particularly keeping Jones' gaffe from costing them another run.
1 run deficit feels pretty big. lol
