  1. Last night a friend of mine asked me if I wanted a pop, then a while later asked if I'd like another soda. He's obviously torn, I worry for his future.
  2. That ten game losing streak, in a year when the division was SOOOOO winnable.
  3. Thanks casey and hawing.
  4. Hey Brian and Nicole....I hope for the best for Nicole, that just stinks. As for the handicapped parking thing, I had a different sort of issue with it that definitely bugged me. One of my wife's sons (now deceased) had a horrible skin disease and was most definitely handicapped over the last few years of his life. The town I live in put a handicapped parking sign by the curb in front of our house so that we could get Andy in and out easily.....the neighbor across the street parked her car in that spot at least twice a week. There was space for us to park in front of her or behind her, etc, which was usually her explanation for it. Yeah, ok, the sidewalk leading to our house was right under the sign she was ignoring by parking there....thanks for the help. I could not believe the insensitivity....the kid was in a wheelchair, there wasn't a lot of explaining necessary on this one.
  5. Pauly Shore......he always bugged me.
  6. Outstanding work AGAIN Patrick.....thanks so much.
  7. Is it poor form to repeatedly refer to my ex-wife in this thread?
  8. fof, it would seem as though people who tip 9% are bugging you.
  9. People who take one step off an escalator and stop, forcing you to either plow over them or do some sort of moonwalk around them.
  10. People who share way too much personal information. I got a detailed description of a relative's colonoscopy the other day.....really, just tell me you had one, I'll take it from there.
  11. People who don't trim tree limbs that hang over public sidewalks. Gimme a break, my kid is about 4 1/2 ft tall, if he has to bob and weave to get through there, that's a problem.
  12. Hang in there Robin19, keep us posted.
  13. A fine rant madcrew. My neighbor's dog bugs me. I guess it's not really the dog, it's my neighbors who won't shut him up. That dog barks at all hours, and winds up setting off every other dog in the neighborhood.
  14. I'm in a great fantasy baseball league, which I used to dominate. I started teaching, guys started listening, this year they're walking on me. That's bugging me. Who does Jermaine Dye think he is?
  15. Those of you who have kids will understand this, the whole month of August bugs me. School doesn't start soon enough, all of their summer activities are over, so they're stir crazy.
  16. My wife grew up in Oconomowoc, which must be near the "dividing line." She says pop, pen and grandma, but also says auntie.....the first time I heard her do that it cracked me up. In MN and IA, the kids don't play Duck, Duck, Goose.....they play Duck, Duck, Gray Duck.
  17. One of my clients at work loves to pronounce nuclear "nucular." I've heard reporters do this, politicians, all sorts of people who should be able to read the spelling and figure it out, it's really not a big word. Nuclear, not nucular, nuclear. That's my issue today, what's yours?
  18. That's awesome Brian, get on over here!
  19. Huntsville, I think you're making a mistake. I fully respect your opinion, and I admire a man who's willing to stand for something rather than just go along, but I think you're taking the wrong approach. I've spent enough time on this site to know that no one here is trying to be offensive, or make light of those who suffer from mental illness, that's just not the case. You've said your piece, very thoroughly and eloquently, I'm with you as far as that goes, I just don't see a benefit in your choice to shut down. I've read many of your posts here, you know your baseball, you don't rock the boat, you seem to be the type that sites like this one need more of, not less. I'm hoping you'll change your mind, thinking baseball fans have made this site what it is, your contributions have been a part of that process. All my best. -Todd
  20. It's bumming me out that I can't be there. I tried to get loose for tomorrow, but I just can't do it. Have fun guys!
  21. Toby, I can't wait for the near riot when you put the top pick three spots lower than someone wants him.
  22. I love the fact that the top two picks are in already.......I demand a new Power 50.
  23. Hi DHonks.....no, I suppose not. I just cringe at HS pitchers, whether I should or not, and Brewer looks like an all-or-nothing type pick. He's fast, he has some power, but can he make consistent contact, can he field, is he an instinctive baserunner, etc. I realize these guys are just kids right now, and of course they could become outstanding players for the Brewers, they just look like risky choices to me. Like others have said, give me one or the other, but don't roll the dice quite so much with both of the first two picks. Jack Z surely knows more than I do, I'll be standing by, hoping to eat my words in a few years.
  24. I realize draft picks can always surprise you either way, but these first four all look like longshots to me. There's certainly no one in there who was intended to help the major league team quickly.
