  1. Casas sure was an interesting character in the Red Sox Netflix doc. He doesn’t seem like a Murphy type player, but I could be wrong
  2. 2-3 months ago it wasn’t clear if his stuff was going to be good enough to get MLB hitters out and now it would genuinely hurt to see him pitching for any other franchise next year
  3. I can’t believe nobody has commented on the Pocket Pancake yet. An incredible moment
  4. Stearns was more aggressive, but I think there are a few reasons beyond any difference in philosophy 1) Smaller playoff field (also meaning more sellers/cheaper costs) 2) We had a 6 year playoff drought heading into 2018 (more incentive to make a push) 3) We stunk at developing hitters
  5. There are some that want to see moves just because others are making moves, but I think much of the frustration lies in that the Brewers have a clear deficiency in the infield and failed to address it in any manner and the deadline shuts the door on that. They didn’t have to get any new starters, but the bench infielders bring very little to the table Unfortunately the supply was much smaller than the demand this deadline, which made it challenging (but not impossible) to upgrade
  6. Not sure if he would’ve been eligible either way, but since he was traded in-season he is not eligible for a comp pick
  7. I don’t have a problem giving up Quintana but I’d be curious to know the motivation behind adding him to the deal for the Padres. It’d give some insight into how much wiggle room our front office has in the budget Were the Brewers really looking to offload the remaining money and they’d only do it if Quintana was added? Or could the Brewers have eaten the money and not given up a prospect?
  8. Offset by what was owed to Cortes
  9. Pretty much how the math works out. Cortes and PTBNL/cash considerations for Miller and Lockridge
  10. I’m guessing the Brewers gave up essentially nothing in this one. Montgomery is a salary dump and Miller is a rental
  11. *** they added Jordan Montgomery. Adding salary so that it costs nothing to get Miller?
  12. Manifesting Geraldo Perdomo as the other piece in the deal
  13. They got better but that playoff rotation will likely be the worst in the league
  14. I will give this front office credit, it is incredibly challenging to get them to deviate from the plan. Remember when people thought they panicked in the Priester deal? Lol it is not in their DNA at all It is definitely frustrating as a fan as there was an opportunity to upgrade the bench/depth and they didn’t pull the trigger
  15. The Rays added Houser and Jax. What an interesting deadline for them
  16. Lockridge is 28 and hasn’t had much MLB success, but has had high OBPs in MiLB. Definitely a speed over power profile. Looks like a salary/roster dump more than anything
  17. Cortes is going to the Padres
  18. Haven’t heard Houser’s name mentioned at all today yet he should be a lock to be moved
  19. What’s not to like about a switch hitting utility player with a .743 OPS? Really boosts the quality of the bench
  20. We’re waiting for so many SP dominoes to fall right now
  21. Give me Willi Castro or give me death
