  1. There are 5 guys that I would have a really hard time trading. All of these guys have a loud combination of tools that are hard to find: Misiorowski, Made, Pena, Dinges, and Payne I could maybe be talked into Payne as he is the furthest away in that group I wouldn’t look to trade Pratt or Quero, but I don’t see quite the same level of offensive upside where they should be untouchable I’d be open to trading anyone from our stable of corner IFs. We have some redundancy in that group and none of them project to be plus defenders and runners There are several pitchers that I like, but none beyond Misiorowski that I’d put in the untouchable bucket
  2. snoogans beat me to the punch as I was putting it together, but I’ll post it anyway :) 3 names Kiley McDaniel connects to the Brewers at 20 https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/draft/daniel-pierce-828084 https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/draft/marek-houston-701339 https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/draft/coy-james-815983 More names they’re tied to at 32 beyond those 3 https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/draft/kayson-cunningham-815617 https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/draft/jaden-fauske-828262 https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/draft/charles-davalan-804560 https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/draft/devin-taylor-805127 https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/draft/cooper-flemming-828237 More names they’re tied to further down the board https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/draft/blaine-bullard-828557 https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/draft/luke-hill-702619 https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/draft/brady-ebel-815816 https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/draft/remo-indomenico-826694 CJ Hughes Tyler Finkbeiner Brisen Tweedy Pick 59 https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/draft/chase-shores-702274 Pick 68 https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/draft/dean-curley-806053
  3. You’re cutting out a pretty big section of the trade market by being anti-rental. Also one of the cheaper sections in terms of prospect cost Why not capitalize on your deep farm system when you have a chance to really compete? It’s fun to dream on the potential of these prospects but most of them will never become impact big leaguers. Does anyone regret giving up Phillips and Lopez for Moustakas? Or Severino for Santana? Even Dubon for Pomeranz was long term negative value, but nobody is clamoring to undo that deal. Sometimes you do a Norris for Olson, but that doesn’t seem to be hurting the Brewers right now Ideally you get guys with team control, but there are only so many of those available. And sometimes those years of control end up being meaningless anyway (Schoop, Canha, Bush)
  4. The last sentence is what puts this whole conversation to rest. No team is trading for his contract. There’s no need to give up Hoskins when they could just sign him for a small number if they really wanted to (which is highly unlikely that they do)
  5. Maybe they could move it a couple weeks into April, but any later kinda defeats the purpose of the incentive
  6. This thing is probably going to come down to how aggressive/desperate the Cubs get at the deadline. They need rotation help, but do they get a top of the rotation arm or patch it over with a few more back of the rotation guys?
  7. I’d rather go get someone like Harrison Bader than trade for someone owed money into their mid-30s. I’m sure it could work out fine, but the risk/reward just isn’t that appealing to me Also I’m sure the Pirates would make us pay a bit more to move him within the division
  8. The 2-1 pitch was perfect to shoot the other way but he is just so damn passive up there
  9. Dinges has too much upside to give up for a reliever that they don’t have a great need for
  10. Since that last home shutout against the Twins (45 G), the Brewers are 3rd in baseball in runs scored and 5th in wRC+. It really is a tale of two seasons. The offense was really bad over the first 45 games, but they had a few high scoring games to cancel out the barrage of shutouts and put up an okay run total in aggregate
  11. There is no trade that makes sense for both teams. That trade would interest the Braves, but is going from Frelick to Acuna worth Uribe, Henderson, Made, and Pena? I can’t see the Brewers giving up both Made and Pena in any deal for a single player
  12. Christian Yelich has a 186 wRC+ since May 22nd. He posted a 167 in 2018 and 174 in 2019 Outside of the first month or so of this season, the man has been really good going on two seasons
  13. Imagine how many hits they’d have if they hadn’t watched 10 meatballs with the bat on the shoulder
  14. Frelick is on pace for a 4 win season. Generally there are less than 15 4 win OFs each season. That is exactly what you’d want from a corner OF
  15. It’s too bad Hoskins is allergic to being a good defender. Everything went downhill starting with the missed pick
