  1. The Brewers could commit to that deal for Naylor. But why is that the best use of resources for the Brewers? A 120ish wRC+ 1B does not move the needle for this offense. They could run it back with a Vaughn/Bauers platoon and get similar production Meanwhile we just witnessed a playoff run where the Brewers basically had one guy they were comfortable starting against any lineup. The Brewers obviously do a great job developing pitching, but playoff starters are a scarce commodity and Woodruff is one of them when healthy. It’s well worth the risk attached to it
  2. What else would the Brewers have spent that $22M on? Let’s be real with ourselves here. They weren’t going to commit to a long term deal with any free agent and any worthwhile player that signs to a short term deal is going to carry a lot of risk or flaws themselves
  3. The upside on this is tremendous and the downside is just a one year loss on the books Very excited to have him back. He is a master of his craft on the mound. Now he just needs to master the art of availability
  4. Sounds like “I’m a bit sore, give me a week off and I’ll be fine” But I’m not gonna fully bank on it considering our history with crushing late season injuries
  5. One minute you have 9 SPs to choose from, the next you’re signing Erick Fedde in the heat of a playoff race (That was completely tongue in cheek before anyone overreacts)
  6. The growth Turang has shown since he debuted is remarkable. From pure slap hitter to legitimate 20 HR threat
  7. The Braves are 11-3 since our series. Perhaps they’re starting to play more to their talent level
  8. Only way to power through this is to think of the lineup with Chourio back in it and Turang and Contreras continuing to abuse baseballs like they have been in August
  9. Win one more? I’d be surprised if we lost one more :)
  10. He wasn’t throwing the ball well in Nashville and is all over the place today. Not looking overly promising
  11. Another Joey Ortiz AB with bases loaded. It’s comical at this point. He has to lead the league by a good margin
  12. Gonna be a pretty light crowd for this game. Can’t even give my tickets away
  13. Anyone looking for 2-4 tickets for this one? We can only make the night games work and have to sell
  14. We are getting Brewer’d and I’m not even upset about it That’s how good things have been
  15. It’s mostly vets having good seasons. Deep lineup and very good defensive team. Pitching staff is solid but not spectacular
  16. Seigler is hitting the ball in the air, which is generally a good thing, but if you don’t have much power and you’re not pulling those balls very often, most of them are going to find gloves Fortunately we are in a position where Seigler isn’t hurting this team and he can have some runway to develop into a useful piece yet this season
  17. I imagine Walker McKinven might have some influence in these decisions
