  1. When I was younger, neither of my parents were big baseball fans. My mom would listen to wgn and the Cubs, my dad could care less, a baseball game is just a big bar for him. So I didn't really get into baseball much. But in middle & high school with long summers and good friends, we would go to occasional games or listen to Bob on the radio. Then when we were able to drive ourselves, those county stadium general admission tickets were sweet. And the link to the Brewers was complete. Now that we are able, my friends and I all have 20 packs and have converted a few significant others into not only Brewer fans but also baseball in general fans.
  2. Had a great time at the game on Saturday, first time I have ever sat that close. 3rd row overall, 2nd row behind student section goal judge. Made for great viewing of the Badgers' goals. And I also got to hear the guy that does the research on the opposing goalie, he had dirt on Michigan's Sauer that went back to before high school. I was dying of laughter and Sauer definately heard him a few times as he turned around and glared at the guy. Big wins for the team, too bad they went mostly untelevised, as both the other games made the Big Ten Network, but nothing but next day replay for the Badgers on tv.
  3. Well, you could go buy a new xbox 360, get a new warranty. Then when your fixed one returns, sell it. There are a lot of deals for Black Friday concerning the 360 and bundles at various stores.
  4. Is your tv cabinet enclosed? I always thought with the reputation for heat causing xbox 360 issues, that having one in an enclosure would be a big no-no. I would keep it in the open air no matter what. The warranty thing really sucks. And preludes what is probably going to happen to me, I think this thanksgiving will mark the end of my warranty. And while I haven't had any issues, I know I am living on borrowed Microsoft time.
  5. I checked the single point one we had at work, at 90 degrees to the heated workpiece (temp controlled) I was getting 140 degrees F. At 45 degrees to the workpiece aiming at the same spot and keeping the distance away approximately constant, it read 137 degrees F. At 130 degrees I read 129 degrees F. As I went to 5 or 10 degrees, it read about 100 degrees F. So I would say that yes angle of measurement is going to effect reading accuracy. But I would say if you stayed 30 or higher of an angle to the surface you are reading you aren't going to have a variance of 10 degrees. Hope this helps.
  6. We use them at my place of business and yeah they don't work with metals very well, I'm told because of the reflectivity. They do work well on our rubber and ceramic pieces though. I can do some raw testing to see what happens with one when I go from a 90 degree angle to a surface, to a smaller angle. It will probably not be until this afternoon though.
  7. Wow, I did not know that. It seems like an awful burden for the Alaskan teams, do they just pay part of it?
  8. I also like the way the conference is. There is too much history and to make this big ten conference we'd have to blow up both the ccha and wcha, which just isn't feasible.
  9. I am thinking about what my next game might be, not sure if I am going to like it a lot but Gears of War 2 seems okay and the people I know that have it seem to enjoy it. Anybody hear have it yet?
  10. I need to go out west. http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?cht=t&chs=440x220&chtm=usa&chf=bg,s,336699&chco=cc0000&chd=s:999999999999999999&chld=FLILINLAMIHIIAMNWIMOALSCPAMETXTNMDNV visited 18 states (36%) Create your own visited map of The United States or determine the next president
  11. was following along with the update blog for last nights game, had to refresh it a few times to believe that the Badgers down 2-0, scored 3 goals in 1:21 to take the lead, two on the powerplay, then the Badgers added another 2 goals to get their first win of the season 5-2 over North Dakota. Hopefully it gets a new streak started, this time all W's.
  12. Dale asked to be the hitting coach which I like I guess. But I still would like someone that has done it before.
  13. For anyone that watched the game on tv, did the Gopher goal that they kind of bumrushed Connelly look legit? The one they reviewed? I was at the game but they didn't show the replay.
  14. I like the idea of commorating the event. Just so long as its not painted on like the 1982, which we should also make nicer.
  15. I let out a loud "Noooooooo!" But I am happy for Jack and figured it was coming at somepoint. I am glad he goes to an AL team and hopeful he passed his knowledge on to others in our organization.
  16. I am a former Verizon customer and I think they are top notch. My stepdad was a traveling regional manager, he tried a lot of phone companies and for the last few on Verizon because it was the best performance for him. Now I am with At&t, but that is only because of the iPhone. If the iPhone was on Verizon, that is where I would be.
  17. this commercial is funny and terrible, thank goodness it's not for tv broadcast to make up for it, Braun's walk-off grandslam is the highlight featured in the iphone 3G MLB App commercial: http://movies.apple.com/m...nger_20081012_848x480.mov it is nice we were featured over the big market teams they could have chose
  18. What would be funnier, making him a Detroit Lion fan or make him stay a Cubs fan.
  19. Saturday was the loudest I had ever heard it in Miller Park. I thought it was awesome. Sunday didn't have the same energy as Saturday and I think the ThunderStix had a some to do with it. Because on a normal game, you can get the clap chants going, with the thunderstix they didn't allow the fans to do that if their thunderstix deflated (which by us seemed to be happening a lot). I did notice that from my seat I could see all the way out to left field and just by the way the thunderstix were being used, I could tell they were chanting "let's go Brewers" even though I couldn't hear them in sec 421, thought that was cool
  20. Must win. No booing unless it relates to a bad call in-game, then let the ump have it. The players are pressing enough as it is, no need to jump on their backs even more. Sec 421, Row 20 (I think) group of 6, with at least 6 other friends sprinkled around the park. Tailgate atmosphere should be fun.
  21. I love Sabathia also and think the only way we can keep him is for 4 years. I think after that the contract would be too big a problem.
  22. Corey I like you, but you have sucked for a while now and you need to admit you are sucking. Kapler why did you have to get hurt? We could have used you.
  23. My thoughts exactly Series, don't get swept, and if CC wins, coming back to Milwaukee 1-1 is a good opportunity.
