  1. Wow Braddock's getting squeezed like crazy. First against Hudson on the 2-2 and now against Morneau on the 1-0 Edit: George seems better at blocking balls than Zaun.
  2. I'm still fuming over here as to why Macha left Wolf in to pitch the 7th. He just struggled mightily to finish the 6th (including a walk on 4 pitches), looking gassed, and he trots him out there to get shelled in the 7th.
  3. No. Because the Brewers don't play in the worst division in baseball, and they've won as many WS as the Twins in the last 15 years.Go back and look at the 2000-2002 drafts. Pre Melvin. Look at how many of those guys did ANYTHING to contribute to the MLB club. 3 of them? 3 of 120? 2000: Dave Krynzel is the only name I recognize from that list. 2001 - Hardy, Brad Nelson, Sarfate, Dillard, Chris Barnwell 2002 - Fielder, Eveland, Dillard (again) He inherited a big steaming pile of refuse & Ben Sheets. He's turned it into a park. They actually have guys in the minors who might contribute to the MLB squad!! It's amazing! You know who the big hot new GM was 4 years ago? Dayton Moore. Ask any Royals fan how that turned out. Corey Hart was drafted in 2000. May have missed it since his real first name "Jon" was used on the list.
  4. Over a third of his ABs are K's. Is it time to give Hart another opportunity at playing everyday? He's got an OPS over .800, and he's already taken 10 walks thus far which is really encouraging.
  5. Man, if we hold on to win this one; a ton of credit (for once) needs to go to Macha. He really did handle the bullpen perfectly today.
  6. Around the league - Dallas Braden is one inning away from a perfect game against the potent Rays offense. Let's hope Kapler can break it up in the ninth
  7. That's a tough run to swallow if you're Narveson. Easy play at home there for McGehee
  8. Sorry, no real interest here, but I thought I would help you out - your link takes you to a personal account login page; here's a direct link for anyone to see: Here
  9. I don't think it was a called third strike. I think BA had it wrong and that the home plate ump had him swinging.
  10. Casey McGehee walks up (and walks off!) to Shinedown - "Simple Man"
  11. I absolutely love how The Doorman is the first one standing on every single home run.
  12. I have the HP Dm3 as well and I absolutely love it. I got it for $500 too the day after Thanksgiving at an online sale. The trackpad is the only part I don't love, but other than that I've never had a problem with the processor slipping up too bad. 1080p video on YouTube and the like isn't great typically, especially with other processes running, but for $500 and an ultra-portable size, I don't find that to be a huge concern. It's also definitely fast enough to run Windows 7, that's not a problem at all - 4 GB of RAM is more than enough. I'm interested to hear what you have to say about it.
  13. Being at the ballpark on September 28th, 2008 was one of the top-3 days of my young life so far - I would have traded LaPorta, Gamel, Escobar, and Jeffries to have that much fun during the summer/fall of that year. (Okay, maybe not that much, but you get the point)
  14. I've got some extra Standing Room Only Tickets available for opening day. $30/piece and they're yours. They're all just print-out tickets so I can email the tickets very easily after a Paypal payment arrives.
  15. I take back what I said; you actually have to go through the email. Thanks a ton!!
  16. I know we've beaten to death the whole young player vs veteran player thing with Macha, but I'm struggling to understand why DM thought he was good choice in the first place, or why he tacked on that option for 2011. Macha is the first Brewer manager I"ve ever truly despised, he's just a horrible fit for a team that is always going to rely on young players to be successful. He just bungles everything, he tries to be sabermetric and takes it too far like completely eliminating the running game last season. He tries to do the right thing and play the most productive player while sitting our top prospect on the bench because he's in a zim-zam. If he's going to back Suppan, he damn well better back Narveson when he fights through 5IP without his best stuff. I find the whole quote trwi7 linked extremely frustrating. I agree 100% on the quote part, and I'm coming around to agree on your other points as well. When I read that last line “If you’re trying to make a team, I’d suggest you turn it up.” it really really made me angry. Here we're talking about a guy who has a 0.65 ERA this Spring and you're telling him to "turn it up"? I'm sorry, but that line really infuriated me, and I can't think of any reason why Macha would say it other than that he just loves his Vets and expects everything and more out of the younger and unproven guys.
  17. Yeah I got Gamel to sign too at a Maryvale, and he and McGehee were the only two I really got on 8x10's. I didn't really try too hard to get autographs this year, just had a blast watching baseball in warm weather! I must say I was impressed by both Bobby Abreu and Torii Hunter of the Angels. Hunter moreso than Abreu, but both signed for a really long time after getting pulled in the 6th inning of the game. I sadly didn't have anything for them to sign, but I did get a 20x24 pawned off on me to get signed of Torii from someone behind me and he signed it.
  18. Here's a version I just uploaded to Rapidshare. This is one I made into a ringtone (under 30 seconds and added a fade-in and fade-out), but it has the whole call and is a perfect call. http://rapidshare.com/fil...62802/Braun_HR_Call..mp3 I might as well throw these out there too to round out your Opening Day playlist: Turning Up The Heat Link Brewers Fever Link
  19. It was only 18 strikeouts, but yes I agree; that was an epic game.
  20. That was cool to watch because I was at Maryvale the day this was recorded (Friday against the Angels). I was right behind Braun during his interview!:http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif I thought it was a very good piece; and I loved watching those 9 clips of great moments in franchise history.
  21. I just got back from today's game, and as we can all see from the Box scores - Suppan is as hittable as ever. One of the hits in the first inning was a little broken bat single that wasn't "legitimate" (as Macha would put it), but other than that he was getting crushed. The batters were easily looking at all of his balls and jumping on his strikes. Verrry few swinging strikes or called strikes like usual. He's got to be gone... right?
