  1. Don't drink bottled water? It's the worst! Well..unless maybe you live in Flint, or even Waukesha.
  2. Three days in a row and what...a whole 1.2 innings!!? He should file a formal complaint with the union!
  3. Correct [sarcasm]Well then...I can see why he makes $5.3M.[/sarcasm]
  4. So, did Feliz just face one batter? He couldn't come out for another inning?
  5. Did they have taco's before? Tuesday night was the first time I ever got tacos at Miller park and probably the last. Maybe it was the stand I went to, which was horribly run (one guy making tacos, 4 registers, and the people at the registers just yelling out what kind of tacos they needed - of course, the person at my register was not very assertive with her order request). The tacos I got were very very skimpy, hardly any meat.
  6. Not sure if anyone was listening to the Brewers radio broadcast. But that last out call by Uecker was brutal...."Get up! Get up! Its.....off the wall......and caught." Huh??
  7. I really like the T-Mobile commercial with Harper in the National's "onesie pajamas"....."That's how he wakes up! Perfectly quafed!"
  8. I believe they are measuring fast balls differently this year, when it comes out of the pitcher's hand vs. closer to the plate as they have done in past years. Supposed to make a 1 or 2 mph difference, so Peralta still seems to be throwing harder than he normally does. Is that just at MP or throughout MLB? Minors? Would be good to know so I can calibrate accordingly. Sort of like years ago when 30 HRs was the new 20 HRs. So apparently what I heard the ESPN announcer say was not exactly true, but kind of...here is an article regarding the "change" that I found: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/about-all-these-velocity-spikes/

  10. Everytime he gets picked off I see his lead and wonder where our 1st base coach is. Why is he even allowed to take a lead like that? I have a hard time gauging the blame on a lot of his basepath mistakes because last year Counsell encouraged his aggresiveness. With the kind of player he is I just don't get why you would encourage that. It is like encouraging an alcoholic to drink more. I understand what you are saying, but you would think a professional ball player would at some point say to himself "Gee, I make a lot of outs on the base paths. Maybe I should take things down a notch when I get on base"

  12. He drives me nuts. He seems to do something stupid every game. I know it's game 3, but I'm talking about last year as well he would do some pretty boneheaded stuff.
  13. Was at this game last night and scanned through the thread. - Yes, the woo-woos in the crowd were intolerable. The entire vibe of the crowd was odd. - Arcia's AB in the 5th inning (I think it was the 5th) was possibly the worst AB in a MLB game that I have ever seen. If I didn't know better, I would have sworn the Brewers were ahead, it was raining, and he was just trying to make a quick out to make it an official game. His first swing in that AB was baffling. The other thing that bugged me was that every year we choose to skip opening day and go to the 2nd game of the year. I usually contact our ticket rep and just exchange another game for that game and most years have no problems getting seats in the same section and row that we normally sit in. However, this year he told me that there were very few seats available and only 2 seats available that were next to each other in the entire section. I took them, but had to check it out online myself on the "pick your seat" feature. Sure enough, that section (217) and pretty much all the sections around it appeared to be pretty much sold out. So I thought...hmm..good crowd for the 2nd game of the season. Not so. They announced 21K or 22K for the attendance. It was closer to 12K. I then remembered that last year, I think it was on fan appreciation night, they offered vouchers to attend this game and I think Wednesdays game? I'm sure people snatched those up at the end of last year and then either forgot about them or just decided not to use the tickets.
  14. I have been told by TWC/Spectrum (or whatever it's called now) that they are no longer participating in free previews for sports channels. Which means no free week of MLB extra innings to begin the season.
  15. MLB has to talk to Joe West. He is ridiculous. If they establish what the zone is, he can't just ignore it and call the zone however he wants.
  16. Why? Then you have all the game threads overcrowding the MLB forum (and most games there is not much conversation going on in them - it only on page 3 for opening day in the 4th inning.) How hard is it to just click on the in-game thread forum.
  17. I don't think a random thread has been started for 2017 yet. If so, I missed it and I apologize. Anyways, I'll start it with this. I agree that Javier Baez is a very talented fielder, but had to role my eyes at what I just witnessed in the Cubs/Cards game on ESPN. Baez misplayed a grounder and blamed the white sign behind home plate on not being able to see the ball, so they rolled the sign to a darker option. First of all...maybe it's true that the sign somehow took some role him him misplaying the ball, but I have my doubts. Even if it did, what's next? Teams can't wear white uniforms? The Cards are wearing white tonight and the ball could have also easily blended in with the batters uniform as he was leaving the box. What about the fans behind home plate, especially in stadiums like Dodger stadium where the fans are basically exposed with no wall behind them. Fan's can't wear white now? Are we now going to have to have a "fielder's eye" behind home plate..how far does that extend? I just thought the whole episode was ridiculous. Javier..you misplayed the ball because you misplayed the ball. It happens. Just own it.
  18. I have yet to see any good pictures of what the new concessions corridors look like. I saw a few pictures yesterday (like on a business journal link), but most of them were just of local politicians or brewer executives enjoying some of the food, or close up views of one new stand. How about a wide shot of some of the corridors and the new layout. The link I got in an email from the Brewers ( http://mlb.mlb.com/mil/ballpark/food-and-beverage/?partnerId=ed-11276444-978869823) was useless...pictures of food and a list of available beers. Great. How about some real pictures of what the place looks like now? I guess I'll just have to wait until my first game on Tuesday.
  19. So, driving home from work yesterday, saw another truck that got stuck under the I-94 overpass on General Mitchell Blvd by Miller Park. I can't believe how many times this happens. I would guess at least 3 times a year, maybe 4.
  20. It's the interwebs: we get worked up over the trivial. Yes...isn't that what the internet is all about? If there is a story on the internet about a cat being saved from a tree, then it's perfectly acceptable to use the comments section to go on a tirade about world politics...correct? Anyways...I guess the reason I'm a little "worked up" is this...When I go to a Brewer game I always wear a Brewer hat and I also usually wear a Brewer tee-shirt or pullover. If there was someone sitting in front of me with a Rangers hat (or some other team that they were not currently playing against), yes, I would probably assume that person is not a huge Brewer fan. I think that's somewhat of a fair assumption. However, if I struck up a conversation with the person and they went on about how many Brewer games they attend every year and that they have followed them for many years and that they are their favorite team and details about current and former Brewers and other evidence pointing to the fact that they are actually good Brewer fans, then I would assume that they are good Brewer fans. Regardless of why they are wearing a Rangers hat and how odd it seems, I wouldn't use an item of clothing to completely dismiss all other information regarding their fandom and have some hard rule in my head that if you wear a hat of another team (especially a non-rival) there is no way you can be a true Brewer fan. That's the argument that some seem to be making and that I'm having trouble understanding.
  21. In the green sheet yesterday there was a story about the last opening day at Borchert field in 1952. There was a picture of the fans in the stands. Lots of suits, ties, fedora hats. Got me thinking, I'm not sure how people were supposed to judge the level of fandom of others in attendance at these games during this era? How did they have any idea what team you supported? I guess they actually had to watch your reaction to what was happening on the field and make some sort of crazy assumption based on that. It must have been a burden to go out in public and not have anyone know what sports team you supported. I'm guessing they must have had to illustrate their support for a team by having conversations with others regarding that team. I'm also guessing that during that era that what you said during those conversations was enough to satisfy others on your level of fandom for any particular team. Man..those were crazy times!
  22. It is a cool concept, even if it's a bit pie in the sky. Let fans vote for the announcers also! The girl from Waukesha West that invited Le'veon Bell to prom has a brother that is my son's age. They (her brother and my son) played baseball together when they were 9 and 10 and I coached the team with his Dad.
  23. So does this rule just apply to team hats or any hats? Does it also apply to other articles of clothing? Should I eliminate all mirrors from my house and get dressed in complete darkness so that I'm not influenced by something as girly as personal appearance? Oh, please please impart your wisdom on me, I want so much to be a real man and fan like you. You could always buy more MLB gear with Cubs game ticket $. Hey! Good Call! Maybe I'll do that. Of course I would only buy Brewer gear. I actually have no desire to wear another team's apparel (I think the last time I did that was when I purchased a Rockies hat in their expansion year). At the same time I'm not going to judge another person's "fandom" based on the fact that they may occasionally want to wear another team's hat.
