  1. I asked him about that as I've been using wikipedia on some of those guys to find out their story since. I went to the card shop and just bought all the Pilots cards they had of guys who signed. His name wasn't on my list of Brewers, so I thought I missed one and bought it anyway. Found out he has a high percentage so I looked him up and wrote him. He played his last year with the Astros in 1970. But he didn't tell me how he ended up with the Pilots/Brewers organization. I'm guessing he was traded and was released. There's a few guys that fall into that boat that I wrote, including Brookfield native Don Pavletich, who has a 72 Brewers card, but ended his career with the Red Sox in 71.
  2. Pretty good haul between Friday and Saturday! 3. Well, the Brewers better hurry up to design a Reynolds bobblehead!
  4. John O'Donoghue on 1970 Topps in black ink Bob Meyer on 1970 Topps signed Bob Meyer in blue ink Bob Meyer on 1971 Topps signed Robert Meyer in blue ink
  5. sounds like a great experience. can't justify 100 bucks to go down a slide though.
  6. Jamie Easterly, blue sharpie on 1982 card Nice thing about this one, is that it was one of the ones I sent out in summer, not part of the new batch. Nice little surprise!
  7. I don't think they care, while all of them are related as a franchise, it's all separate businesses. How many different bobbles (including alternates) are being given away including all the minor league teams this year anyway? 40? 45? I'm looking forward to the season where between all the minor league clubs and the Brewers, there's a new bobblehead coming out everyday. Yes, I want 162 bobbleheads, and that won't even include the season ticket and employee giveaways, OR the Stich N Pitch.
  8. The Brewers did this just to spite me. That might not be remotely true, but that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
  9. Well, with two days off from school I was able to write up about 30 letters to mail out tomorrow. Majority of the players are from the 70's team. A few from the Pilots, and a handful from the 80's and 90's. I have cards for a handful of players that had solid return rates who have recently dropped off. I'm gonna check their status in a month or so and see if they've sent anything back to others that are waiting before I mail em anything.
  10. So I think we all gotta know....what's a descent deal?
  11. Not sure the exact amount, but if someone makes you an offer, any offer, TAKE IT.
  12. I'll always point to this as a signing the Brewers felt they needed to do to show they wanted to be competitive. Following that up with "One of the worst contracts in Brewers history"
  13. I started creating a spreadsheet today and am about 200 players in for those that have cards. I know somewhere I have those 94 Miller Books, but I have no idea if they're at my mom's or dad's house. If I run across one cheap enough, I'll probably just pick it up. Seems like something available at the Gonzaga show auction. I'm hoping tomorrow I can log the rest of them with my day off and get over to Gunderson's on Saturday and dig through their commons and see what I can get to send off. At this rate, might have Monday off too thanks to the cold.
  14. Doc, I haven't reached that point yet. I just finished going through every player and looking up cards on COMC.com trying to figure out what their first card was. Using Topps as my tiebreaker for the 80-present cards. I'm hoping if I can't find one that a real company put out that they have a police card, but those are harder to come by these days with budget cuts, etc. I thought about just sending them an index card and asking to sign that. But a lot of players won't sign those anymore because of the possibility of identity theft. There's a guy on the Collector's Universe message board that makes these really cool cards with just the players name, team, and the game they hit their first home run. So something like that could be a good route to go down possibly.
  15. I'm in the same boat as BCS. I go through and figure out the highest percentage rates, then I figure out their first Brewers card (that's my project). My letter is pretty much always the same. I ask what was the best teammate they ever had and who was the best hitter/pitcher they ever faced. Sometimes I get a letter back, most times I don't. BTW: Got Jerry Reuss back the other day after about a month or so of nothing. Card was pretty creased when I got it back though. Bummer since he threw a No No.
  16. You can't put someone in the Hall based off of two games. That said, I do think he will get in at some point. 200 wins is kinda a low number in terms of starting pitching, but most of them come from a team that was middle of the road in the hardest division. He's not a first ballot guy, but I think 4-5 years down the road he'll get in depending on the rest of the class that he's up against.
  17. What day did you pick up that Greinke Jersey? Probably on Thursday eh? Went on Friday late afternoon and walked out empty handed. I woulda loved to score that. I like going to the rummage sale but this year nothing caught my eye. I already have about 8 shirts too many, a hoodie, two jackets and thanks to the vouchers picked up a few new hats in fall. I'm all set in the swag department. I do enjoy looking at game used stuff and occassionally pulling the trigger on a bat. There was a Milwaukee Brewers "Braves" jersey but it was 300 and I believe it was some coach. To find Greinke for 150 is a steal. I'm glad a BFer got it though, not one of those D-Bags that ruined autograph Fridays. I too am curious how much the Braun helmet went for.
  18. Turbo, I messaged you yesterday afternoon. Get back to me.
  19. I'm interested. PM Sent
  20. HAHAHAHAHAHA x Infinite The only one I might have interest in is Gomez, but mostly because I saw him get picked off second base during one of his rehab games. The sentimental value on that can't be bought.
  21. If they planned on doing a Japanese heritage day, the jerseys have already been cleared by MLB, and probably ordered. If that's the case, they aren't gonna give away a Scooter bobble on that day. I find it kinda funny that a heritage day was planned around a bobblehead, now the entire thing could be cancelled.
  22. yah, if I opt to get one of these, it'll be doable for about 50 bucks my guess. More 20 packs out there than Stich N Pitch bobbles I think.
  23. 20 pack. And you get a rep when you get a ticket package. My ticket rep does a fantastic job.
  24. This might be the only one I go after this year outside the Stich N Pitch
  25. If there were 40,000 screaming people with bats wanting me to come down, I probably woulda stayed up there.
