  1. I'd be interested in a few probably provided the same criteria is met as those above. Also, don't do it in a retro. PLEASE. Can Sushirunner also get one made of Bud Selig slouching to honor the 10th anniversary of the All Star Game tie?
  2. I thought the Brewers shoulda done a bobblehead of Selig with that same pose to commemerate the 10 year anniversary. I even wrote em a letter. I got no reply.
  3. as soon as I saw "FC" I got lost. I have no idea what any of you are talking about.
  4. Glad I kept both of mine. Wish I had bought 4 tickets to that game...
  5. driving home on the final day of your three week honeymoon, and getting a text message from the person watching your cats/taking in mail informing you that your home was burglarized. a laptop and my bike were stolen....most other stuff is replaceable, not my custom bmx bike, and my wife had most of her stuff backed up, but not all of it. many important photos, gone.
  6. that's a bummer. i've had relatively good luck getting players at On Deck the past few years, but I always tried to go down once or twice a year and try to get someone. was there ever an incident that any of you know of that would relate to "security issues" that you can think of?
  7. yer best bet is to google it, or put "cards" in your GPS and see what happens. I'm in LA right now, and did something similar. Infact, I'm on my way to a shop in a few minutes! Looking forward to seeing what they got in the Chris Capuano or Sandy Koufax department. Best two Dodgers pitchers, respectively
  8. i'm guessing that's his kid. that's a neat little twist to throw in. it appears so, but does the kids head bobble too?
  9. i gotta get ahold of my friends in huntsville, they usually hook me up, but i didn't get a chance to ask em to go before i left for my honeymoon. hopefully i can get a scan up sometime soon
  10. wow, i didn't realize how young he was. not attending many rattlers games, I assumed he was a retired guy similar to the Iceman. any idea how he passed? sad story, glad he'll be honored.
  11. so can we get 20 people to kick in 50 cents to see exactly what this looks like? i'd be amazed if it was my list...(not that it's mine per say, i got a lot of help from a few sources, but ya know)... just plain silly
  12. if it's from a shop of some sort, get the reciept. get it graded. if it comes out authentic then whatever the grade is, thats the grade. a 4 should bring you close to what you have invested into it. if it comes back as a miscut, trimmed, etc, as Jim was saying, bring it straight back to the shop you got it from. i'm hoping that within a year I can find an Aaron rookie myself. I've done some homework on it and it's a bit harder to find than a Kaline or a Banks rookie (both of which I have)...from my understanding, stars are graded a bit tougher, so if you think it's a 6, it may come back a 5. but still, a good investment...you can always figure out a way to trade up. good luck! I'd love to hear that you scored a 7, keep us posted!
  13. i totally forgot the braun talking...that goes in for the don money i think...i have it, but it's not talking, but whatever, in 10 years none of em will be talking anyway
  14. i'd love to get into this conversation but due to time I can't type a whole lot here. Just a few quick things: I can't get behind retails or non-affiliated Brewers bobbles (ie Thomas). That's just my personal thing, but I wouldn't include that on the list. Charlie Moore was a tough one for awhile, but as the popularity dropped on bobbles, this one became easier to find. I got one last summer for 15, when at one point it was going for around 50. I'd keep the majors and minors on one list. This is how I'd grade them: 1. Iceman 2. Attanasio 3. Bill Hall Track Suit 4. Bernie 2004 Birthday 5. Patriotic Snappy 6. Beloit Prince Fielder 7. Beloit Don Money (white) 8. Bernie Stich N Pitch 9. Paul Molitor Blue 10. Mr. 3000 Also, I'd love to see BobbleBrian's list. *cough cough*
  15. bobbledude, if yer looking for one, on the cheap, become friends with the owner of your local bar, or liquor store. when the next season of High Life Points starts up, just collect from him, tell yer friends to save them, etc. They sell out fast, but you can get it pretty easy this way. I have a friend that got lots of high life stuff a few summers ago using this strategy.
  16. I think that space is the issue with bobbles. They could potentially have more value if there wasn't so many given out each year. (With affiliates, it's something like 28 for 2012). At some point people will say "I don't have room for all these" and stop collecting. Others won't start because there's too many to get (230-ish?). There's gonna be a small percentage that started when they first started giving them out and kept going, while most will drop out somewhere down the line due to space, money, etc. In the end there's only gonna be a small percentage who stick around. For us they'll be valueable, for most, they'll still be shaking them like crazy at games till the spring busts or their kid will get them and ultimately break it doing something careless. We'll see what kinda of interest there is in ten years from now. That's the only way to see the real outcome of this hobby.
  17. I need to get back into running. I was going about 2-3 miles each time I went out (2-3 times a week) last summer until it got too hot for me to want to get out (mid July) by end of summer when it cooled down I didn't get back out. As it was starting to show nice weather in winter, I wanted to start up but then in February I was shoved in my classroom by a student trying to fight another student and my back went out. I was basically uncapable of doing anything athletic until right before softball season (mid April). I also didn't really have any time to run due to setting up a wedding. I feel comfortable doing athletic stuff again, but am leaving for my honeymoon on Tuesday, so I've been preparing for that. I think I can still hold up pretty well, but I would usually jog 5-6 blocks, walk one, and start up again. I couldn't ever get to the point where I was jogging the entire time, but I put some of that on smoking for 8 years. Hopefully this summer I can reach that point. I don't really like jogging, but I love the feeling of accomplishment afterwards.
  18. yah, I may have bid on it too, but as a teacher I'm about to get my last paycheck for awhile, and I just got done paying off a wedding. Honeymoon starts next week, gotta scale back for a little bit. (at least till the sun times show in July)
  19. Sorry RoCo, I can no longer play.
  20. Yah, im out. I got burned by the first batch of Helena bobbles. There will be a hundred of em available on eBay through ccd07 and he'll continue to have them until the end of time. Just like the Braun ones.
  21. thebruce, what are the prices like at rumpus room? how's the beer selection there? we've talked about going there, but haven't made it over there yet.
  22. Whens the latest it goes to? Can you drink between games? (i mean not like slamming beers, but an after game beer or two). I can play a little second and some outfield, but I'll warn you, I'm the Willie Mays Hayes of softball in that I pop up like every at bat. But if you need a guy, I can prolly do it, as long as the misses doesn't already have something planned for us.
  23. BINGO! thanks dude. next time yer coming in for a game, lemme know. or if I go to a rattlers game sometime this summer maybe we can meet up. I don't wanna worry about shipping it. But if it's taking up space and you just wanna get rid of it, I wouldn't be offended if you threw it out, either.
  24. During the day, it's pretty bad. I never take it, but i've seen it going westbound, and I can imagine you'll want to get off by state fair at the furthest. I don't know if the 68th/70th street exit is closed or not, but I know the entrance is.
  25. jonny5t, please let me know. i'd be interested if it was for the price of like double a ticket and shipping or something, i don't wanna shell out an arm and a leg though. thanks!
