  1. I think 90 is pretty decent on the Money, the last one I tracked about a year ago one sold on eBay for 115. 25 for the Jenkins is a borderline steal. It normally goes for 40.
  2. Agreed Monyy. We can't start trading what we have left for guys that aren't going to be long term difference makers. I'd think that Melvin has gotta be thinking the same thing. We do need to do something at short though, so he may have see what's available. Can DM find a way to convince Greinke that we can sign him and go for it next season? Either way, this could be a brutal summer.
  3. These are the ones I'd think to be hardest to come by. Not the most expensive necessarily, just the ones you don't see as often. In the last week you missed out on the Beloit Money and Stockton Jenkins. Personally, the Brad Nelson Snappers was the last one I got from that set, thanks to another BFnetter.
  4. I got a lot of players at either the National or the Sun Times show a few years ago for 5 each. I think you can find Yount and Molly for 30-50 each. Sutton around 15-20. At the same show I got an 8x10 of Yount, Fingers, and Simmons together signed for around 50 or 60. I can't really speak for Vuk since his prices are so up and down. (LoF had him signing for a lot, but then flooded eBay with signed balls. I got mine for 30-35. Don't know how many 8x10's he signed or anything though). As far as dollar amount 8x10s don't seem to draw the same value as signed baseballs.
  5. The Beasties were among my favorite groups throughout high school. I loved their hip hop but they knew how to write hardcore songs when they wanted to (Aglio E Olio is a must have). The first time I saw them was at Lollapalooza in 94 on the Summerfest grounds. It was unbelieveable. Then the following year they returned to the Mecca and though there was like an hour and a half between sets, it still ranks among the best shows i've seen. In my opinion, they completely changed the way many people view music, and not only were they catchy, they were smart. I didn't really get into Hello Nasty or the Five Burroughs much, but everything prior to that was pretty much a staple to my stereo. I haven't been this bummed about a musician since Joe Strummer passed away 10 years ago. RIP MCA. Much respect.
  6. At least one person on these boards will say they had 6. PREACH! PREACH!
  7. My three favorite players as a kid were Jose Canseco, Robin Yount, and Nolan Ryan. I remember when my parents got me a Canseco rookie for Christmas and I was the happiest kid in our zip code. I still have it. I'm thinking about getting it graded, knowing it's basically worthless, just for the sake of keeping it as my biggest card collecting memory. I got the Ken Griffey Jr with the complete set. That set is still in storage, but I put his card in a holder and put it on top of the cards. Being 10 at the time, it wouldn't surprise me for a second if I messed up one of the corners putting it in a holder.
  8. you guys are running away with it. hope it holds up!
  9. did you check ebay? not sure what your looking for exactly....ringers? brewers shirts? vintage repops? I used to be on the hunt for them a few years ago, I might be able to help you out depending on what your looking for...
  10. Greg Jefferies. I have about 25 of his cards in my "good" binder of cards from a kid. Him and Flash Gordon. I think now everything is a short term fad like Beanie Babies.
  11. sounds good...monday might be best...thanks! #hoarding
  12. hahaha, pretend...my friend worked at a comic shop for many years, and i was like "i'm thinking of getting rid of these, i got Spawn #1, Spiderman #1, XMen #1, etc...and he was like "yah, and so does everyone else"
  13. the one you dropped, did it just freeze up or what? i've gotten ipods to work in the past after messing with em for awhile...i'm close enough to ya, maybe i'll take those off yer hands too.. hah
  14. Hey guys, A month ago the Lakeshore Chinooks asked for ideas for a mascot name. I sent in the name "Sammy Salmon" among others and now it's up for the final three spots. There's a voting process going right now. If you wanna help me out, go http://lakeshorechinooks.com and you can vote. If I win I get a limo ride to the game, and bragging rights 4 LYFE. Not bad!
  15. I get put in a situation to wear a suit about 3 times in a 2 year span...
  16. Try Kohl's. I just got a Chaps (Ralph Lauren) suit for about 150. It was retailed at 300, but was half off. If you get a Kohl's card, they take another 25% off. I'm good for being in a position to wear a suit about 1.5 times a year, so I know I want something nice, but didn't want to go nuts. You may want to get fitted at a Men's Warehouse for your jacket size (though it's probably not manditory). They're on sale now: http://www.kohls.com/upgrade/webstore/home.jsp;jsessionid=C2VrPXRNmT2MtQgWJjQb9QQHD8TyfJ7v3jGLhRmJtSLZhLGJCLmT!-761950341!-1637315955
  17. I wouldn't worry about it. Hunstville did it as a giveaway, but Gehrig has no ties whatsoever to Huntsville, Nashville or Evansville (Where the Stars were moved from). Obviously he has no ties to the Milwaukee Brewers, either. The bobble itself he's wearing pinstripes, but his cap doesn't have a logo. The photo I found online I can't tell if he's wearing the Yankees logo on his jersey either. It's your call, but I wouldn't consider it a "must have" or even a want for that matter.
  18. Funny you mention that. A few years ago my friends and I took a handful of Gary Sheffield cards and burned them. I don't think I could bring myself to destroy my favorite childhood hobby though. Maybe I'll look into autographs through the mail. That's not a bad idea.
  19. I think Aloft is about 150 a night. But it's a great hotel, very modern.
  20. They just announced it: Bill Michaels show is going to be an hour longer. Chuck and Wickett will be starting an hour later. 6-10. Bill Michaels from 10-2 Big Show from 2-5 No more Dan Patrick. Grrrr.
  21. here's a link in case anyone was looking for it: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/news/humber_perfectgame/index.jsp
  22. That goes to show how much I tailgate these days.
  23. Do they get rid of Dan Patrick and give Bill Michaels that time slot to bring back Rome? I have to say I don't miss Rome all that much. I'd rather listen to Dan Patrick. I used to like Rome a lot, but the clones just get annoying over time and there's times he's funny, but his schtick doesn't do much for me anymore. I do miss when he brought on Jay Mohr and the Sklaar brothers though.
  24. My dad is a dentist, so I grew up around his office and have no fear of it. That's not to say I hate being drilled. I've only had two cavities and he's coaxed me into drilling. Both times I've said I'm never doing that without a shot again. It's like a mass amount of electricity being charged through your face. Worst. But Casey's right, it's a 10 second process and the pain goes away right away...otherwise you sit with your face numb for the rest of the day. Also, my dad's favorite quote is "Your hands shouldn't bleed when you wash them, your gums shouldn't bleed when you floss"
