  1. I can't imagine the people that buy game used baseballs for 50 bucks (or more since it's a playoff game)...a homerun ball or a strikeout ball or something maybe, but just a foul? silly.
  2. Also, there ARE other ways to get to the stadium without having to park in the lot. 99% of the time I meet up with friends at games after work. We all walk in since it's silly to pay to park if you're alone. We were more than happy to pay extra to tailgate, especially with the great weather we had. We parked in the Yount lot on Saturday, they told us we had to leave about an hour after as well...we stuck it out another 30 minutes or so until everyone finished their drinks and traffic opened up before we left on their own. I don't know if this had anything to do with the roof, but I imagine the Keg is much louder with the roof closed than open. That could have been one reason they decided to keep it closed. Just throwing that out there.
  3. Anytime you can relive Counsell showing his power is usually worth a mention. Get his lone dinger in there. Gomez double somersault. Almost as amazing as a double rainbow.
  4. It'd be hard to just let Ortiz go. While Pedroia or Ellsbury is on the rise, I still would consider Ortiz to be the face of the franchise. I don't think Prince would end up in Boston, but I guess anything is possible.
  5. Will gates open on Saturday at 10 or 10:30?
  6. Really? My partner and I don't want to pay $100 a month for some crappy television. I'm fine with listening to the games during the regular season, but they should be on regular tv during the playoffs. I'm 30 btw so I wouldn't consider myself "old school."Not having cable isn't "old school" it's a financial decision that many families make. If we don't watch tv, why pay for it? As jjkoestler said, I'm completely okay with listening to games on the radio, but during the playoffs, many people, myself included, want to see them on tv. Also, if you're one of those "old school" people that doesn't have cable tv, but "new school" enough to use a computer AND internet, go to tvpc.com and you can watch TBS streaming for free.
  7. I don't have cable. My fiance and I generally don't watch much TV, and I go to enough Brewers games that I'm okay not being able to watch them at home. It'd also be the only thing I'd wanna watch so financially, it doesn't make sense. It bums me out that the playoffs aren't available in homes without cable. I don't mind going to a bar to see a few games, but that'll add up quick. Hopefully I can go to a friends house to watch. It's unfortunate that in the playoffs that the Wisconsin Market can't see them like you would a Packers game shown on NFL network or ESPN. That's something that should be changed with the contract.
  8. I really think that they should do this AFTER the playoffs are over. The Brewers have won the division, but so far, that's it. I know the town is ecstatic but keep the team focused. They had their celebration on Friday night. I'd rather wait and have an EPIC one late October.
  9. got an inside tip on a prince signing? outside of legends, that is?
  10. Good luck with everything.
  11. completely worth 2 dollars. nice find!
  12. That's a great point SuperCollector. Just look at Billy Ripken and Ozzie Canseco, the younger of the twins. But younger siblings always have to play harder to keep up with their big brother/sister.
  13. The ultimate example for "cup of coffee." Poor guy. http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/blog_article/40th-anniversary-of-larry-younts-big-league-career-9-15-11/
  14. yer best bet is going to the lot to get the bench and bullpen types. if you go, get there around noon or 1 for a 7pm game. maybe you can get some other guys. I got the 08 team to sign a bat i had, and it took me all season and part of the next season. it's a great project, but it's time consuming and if you want fielder, yer best bet might be having to pay. he signs a lot on the road, but without knowing where he'll be next year, you might be hard pressed to get it, or you'll have to be patient until you can get him.
  15. If anyone happens to be going to Friday night's game and has an extra towel they can part with, please let me know. I can't make it, but I think I NEED one of these. Thanks! Corey
  16. If I can have one of the bobbles I'll do it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  17. at one point the bill hall bobble probably coulda fetched close to 50. now it's come down. I've seen it go for anywhere from 25-35 lately. I think if you were looking to sell it, someone around here would pay 30 for it. you can also put "bill hall retro bobblehead" into your search, then go to "advanced" then click on "auctions ended" or something like that to get a better idea.
  18. the ports gave out two of my favorite bobbles in Ben Sheets and Geoff Jenkins. The Sheets might be the favorite in my collection.
  19. mtrebs, go to customer service and tell them you have a son or daughter with a birthday coming up later this month (since it's near the end of the season, you better hurry)...then put down a date you plan on going...it's like 30-40 bucks and you get yer name a name on the scoreboard and a bernie bobble of him sliding into home (apparently from the slide). i've never got one through the brewers, just got mine through ebay at a good price.
  20. brian, can you post a picture? and if you run across another one, lemme know http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  21. Last year, Kent "The Iceman" Meyer won beer vendor of the year at Miller Park. This year when they gave out the 2011 Beer Vendor bobblehead, the Brewers apparently made up about 200 bobbles featuring Kent. They gave all them to the Iceman and told him to give them out how he wanted. All the beer vendors got one, he gave many out to family members, and the rest to loyal buyers. Has anyone else seen this or heard about it? I found out last night through a friend who's friend got one at Miller Park. I'm going to try to get a picture, but from the numbers, and who all recieved them, this could be the hardest one to find. Just throught ya'll should know yer collection isn't complete anymore. Heh.
  22. I think it's silly that in the midst of a pennant run they're talking about an event in the middle of winter. I get the marketing behind it, and they very well could sell some extra tickets now, but still. Silly.
  23. traded miller lite vendor bobbles with monkeyman343434 earlier this week. everything went great!
  24. brewcrew779, I like that a lot. I was considering getting the weeks cards as well. Nice to have a visual.
  25. thanks Kevin, Brian, and Rob for all your help. I'll post some of the standout cards later. I used a PSA price guide as I went through some of these. They went down to PSA 5, and I used grading 5-7 that as my base. Anything extra would be fantastic. I think some are 8's, and would be stoked as 9's. Because I don't know what a 50's card looks like brand new, and knowing they are probably impossible to come by, I only looked at the 10's as a "holy smokes!" I will write up all the notables when I get a chance.
