  1. I used to love playing soocer, and I really enjoyed watching the world cup last summer. That said, it's not something I'd go out of my way for. The last time I was at a Wave game I was in middle school, probably 20 years ago. Personally, I think the Wave is a great organization to have around here, but as BSC said above, it's definately a family oriented event. I can't see too many college buddies gearing up for the Wave, and I think the same would hold true for a MLS team. There would probably be excitement and buzz at first, but that would die off. How long did the Milwaukee Rampage stick around for? If they are still here, I apologize for my ignorance.
  2. Any media coverage yet? I was looking around to see how the lines were looking so far this year but couldn't find anything. Just curious how long the lines are already (not that I plan on standing out there with em).
  3. I told him at On Deck he should go with either "Rise Above" or "My War" by Black Flag. He claimed he liked Black Flag, but apparently not enough. I'm going with the Refused.
  4. Get in line and camp out at Miller Park, take a day off of work and hope for the best. Though I think ponying up and using stubhub is the easier option.
  5. hah. sorry brian, that's not gonna work for me at all. I wish a medium was too big for me
  6. I emailed them asking if it would be the same when I was telling them they should mix up the jerseys a bit since the retro jerseys are played out. All they replied with was "thanks for the input" I'll see if my ticket rep knows anything.
  7. Is 48 considered a L or XL? If it's XL I could possibly swing that. L would be too small. How much does MP charge to put the numbers and name on?
  8. About 6 months ago I did 4 or 5 on the subway in NYC. If I lived there and took the subway late at night, I'd do chinups all the time. I tried to get in a regime where I'd do 100 jumping jacks, 50 situps, 25 pushups a day, but that only lasted about 3 or 4 days. For the person that did P90X, how'd you like it? I know it costs 250 or so, but with all the attention its getting on sports radio, i'd love to try it out.
  9. We got in at the main entrance at 6:25-6:30 and got them no problem. Huge line, but there were plenty left. At 5 minutes before puck drop there was no line and only guy giving them away. When I came back from getting my soda, the BC crew was putting them back in boxes and taking them to storage. There was probably 10 boxes of extras. I'd call the bradley center and see what they can do. Provided they still have their voucers. The lower level was pretty full, and the upper deck had about 4-5 sections on each side going about 1/3-1/2 way up. I don't know how to gauge attendance at the BC, but if there were 5000 people there, it wasn't by much.
  10. I'd hope the Snappers wouldn't ever put out Greinke bobblehead. I can't think of any other Brewers to do from Beloit that haven't been done off the top of my head. Like that Don Money is getting one from the Sounds. Surprised they didn't do a Gallardo, but no complaints. The Sounds bobbles are really nice. I'm assuming Huntsville is done with bobbles altogether now too. The last one they did was Microwave Dave, a season ticket holder and local musician.
  11. just heard 4 years / $30 million on 1250 according to Tom H: I'M GUESSING THE FOUR GUARANTEED YEARS ARE WORTH FROM THE MID TO HIGH 30s
  12. chris, if you've ever gone to the midwest express center for the On Deck, it seemed close to if 2/3 of that room was dealers. the other 1/3 is for the autograph tables. give or take. I had a good time down there last year and am gonna try to make it this year as well. i don't really collect cards, but i was able to get a lot of brewers related stuff signed.
  13. Maybe baseball cards was a better example, but the point is the same. Anytime you take anything that people are into and then completely water it down it loses interest with its core fans and doesn't hold up in the long term with the casual fan. Quality > Quantity.
  14. that's the way I feel about it too Brian. I saved so many of my extra bobbles to trade with other collectors later, but now they just take up room. No one is gonna go outta there way for a Chris Capuano or Scott Podsednik (do majority of younger fans even know who Scotty Po is?) bobble anymore, either version. I started getting rid of the extras last year, but to part with them for only 5 or 7 bucks really isn't worth it at this point. I bought a blue Charlie Moore for like 9 dollars not too long ago since at one point they used to go for 50 a few years ago. Now the only bobbles of any value are pretty limited and are mostly from Minor Leagues. The biggest Brewers standouts are the blue Molitor, Gantner, and Fingers. Last years Pitch and Stich goes for a good dollar. That'll happen to anything once you decide to water it down until it drowns. (See: Ozzfest, Warped Tour, Lollapalooza, etc)
  15. The group I was with found an extra on the way out. Any chance you have an extra Yonkman from last year? My buddy's been searching one out for awhile now.
  16. My dad recently came across some old baseball stuff my grandfather had. In that was a postcard from Yankee Stadium. I can't figure out the year of it, but was able to find one very similar through google. http://www.vintageball.com/files/Habermans.jpg The difference between the one I have and the image above is mine has no clouds in the sky. The other difference is that mine says "188:-Yankee Stadium. New York." No idea if this would be worth anything at all, though it's in excellent condition, only one corner very slightly rounded, otherwise no creases. My best bet is that it's from the late 50's only because that's when the Braves played the Yankees and there was some 58 programs and a 58 WS program mixed in there as well. Anybody?
  17. I think in 2008 or 2009 they didn't have a retired player. I really wanna sit down with these people, and other fans. Do they really need another set of sausage bobbleheads? They might as well have put out another Yount. Posted this in the trading post forum, but they really need to mix up the jerseys. I loved the navy alternates, I don't need to see another retro jersey on a bobblehead for the rest of my life. Though I'm gonna see 4 more this year. Yay. A little variation wouldn't hurt anybody, would it? I can't wait for the Wil Nieves bobblehead next year. And as posted in the trading forum, let's see a Bud Selig bobble commemorating the 10 year anniversary of the All Star Game decision.
  18. So who wants to start planning for next year? My guesses: Jonathon Lucroy Larry Hisle Wil Nieves Shaun Marcum Greg Brock Kameron Loe Bud Selig (10 year anniversary of All Star Game decision) Ed Sedar Bill Schroeder (Announcer: no alternate)
  19. I just sent em a message for future bobbles and asked about this years stich n pitch. I tried not to complain as much as give them constructive criticism. I will post their reply. I also gave them a link, but realize now they won't be able to check it for 30 days after signing up. So this page might ever be seen.
  20. Anyone have an extra? I have an extra Aaron and Bernie from last year. Might have some other white jersey bobbles from the past few years. Would prefer if you lived around the east side to avoid shipping, but I spose I can ship if needed.
  21. Has anyone checked out the site Bobblebums.com? It's a good place to see log what bobbles you have and need. Last I checked though it was still missing the infamous Helena Brewers Braun bobble. The site stays up to date on basically everything though.
  22. I knew they were gonna do alternates again. Just wish it wasn't pinstripes. Also, I have also officially ran out of room on my shelves. With 140 (give/take) that I have, I'm debating if I should just pack up the "commons" and just display the retro/alternates. Anyone else run out of room to put these things?
  23. Last year I really thought the Ice Man was going to have his own bobble. I'm really hoping that's the case this year.
  24. I take responsibility for a lot of this madness starting. Four or five years ago my friend and I had off of work on Friday and only had to work morning. So we opted to go down there Thursday at about 1pm. We were all over the 5pm news and about an hour later people started showing up saying they saw us on the news and had to come down. The next year people showed up on Wednesday (Including Zach who was right in front of me and my crew). That was the year they started garaunteeing 9 packs including opening day and we've been doing that since. It also helped that we're done with college and have adult jobs now. It was a lot of fun going down there early, we usually go down Friday night just to see what kind of set up people have. Last year was pretty nuts, and I can't imagine more than 30 people actually got Opening Day, as I heard it was pretty limited with single obstructions and standing room only. Good luck Zach, we'll probably stop by again. Send it!
  25. Got it in the mail. Thanks again! - Corey
