  1. I think this has shocked many because for the most part we aren’t conditioned to managers acting like players. Typically a manager who is good at his job and is wanted quietly negotiates an extension….with a raise that is viewed as fair by both parties and it gets announced….and that’s the end of it. CC decided he had enough leverage to go the free agent route…..he also knew that he no team or business entity will bid against themselves. Brewers made a great offer and no,matter what it was he was going to use it to drive up the price……so really Attanasio was in a no win situation……unless he were to tell Craig we will, match whatever anyone else gives you……and nobody would do that…….especially for a manager. So have we reached a new frontier where managers are now going to be mercenaries too? It will be interesting to follow…….. I liked Craig…..I think he was good at his job and deserved to be well paid for it……which he was……yet if there is one thing I know……everybody hates the manager as soon as he makes a move they disagree with. So on to the next guy…….who we will like and then eventually come to realize “ He has no idea what he is doing!”
  2. That’s not tampering……it’s only tampering if they talked to CC while he was still under contract with the Brewers or without permission……..no evidence that occurred. All they did was negotiate to replace a guy who they still had under contract…..which they must payout now that they no longer want his services.
  3. He's smart enough not to be on Twitter as a major league manager
  4. CC cared more about trying to reset managers salaries then staying with his hometown team even though they offered to make him the highest paid manager. I don’t think this will reset anything but he’s a union guy…….so,I’m sure he believes it. This reminds me again what I already knew……nobody cares about the team as much as the fans…..the players don’t…..the owners don’t……and the managers don’t……not even if they have the history that Counsell had with the Brewers and this city.
  5. Looks like it was the Cubs who, would pay anything
  6. I hate when my gut turns out to be right………😕
  7. Astros still could be a factor I suppose ……..but obviously good news
  8. I mean he’s supposed to be a journalist…….yet he clearly is an advocate for the Mets………openly rooting for big market teams to get whatever they want…….how about just a neutral article about how the process is playing out? Is that too much to ask?
  9. Heyman says CC expected to make his decision in the next day or 2…….its in a cheerleading article that the Mets should spare no expense to go get him………god I hate the sports media.
  10. I like Wade too but I’m not sure how he gets paid significant money…….he's 37 and since 2018 he has been an every other season guy as far as being healthy. 2018 80 innings 2019 167 2020 14 2021 163 2022 37 2023 120
  11. I think,he is assuming that if the Brewers expect to compete next season…….( they typically do but we will see) they aren’t going to want Rae and Houser as the 4 and 5 men in the rotation without any minor league options for either guy. if one of them could go up and down like last season it’s a different decision……..
  12. I’ll be interested to see the terms
  13. Those pesky debits and credits eventually have to even out……or so I learned when I took high school accounting. 🤷‍♂️
  14. You don’t say?
