    I think you are over thinking it………for lack of a better word……he was lucky early on……his stuff was never good…….many commented on it at the time. Lots of mediocre pitchers have stretches where their era is unsustainably good……. No reason to believe he was injured…..his velocity was the same ……appreciate his efforts……he filled in admirably when we had no better options……..he was never going to be on the post season roster.
