2 nice innings for Ashby. Walked the first guy on a questionable 3-1 pitch……2 strikeouts no hits. not sure if they will bring him out for the third

Chourio 3-3 with 2 doubles lots of walks today from the pitching staff…….Ross just had 3 in 1 inning ……2 strikeouts as well.

Ashby struggles continue……some bad luck there and then a bomb……he is going to have to prove it to make the team…….id start him in the minors.

Yelich will play almost every day somewhere and it will be mostly in the outfield. Sanchez will get dh time…..so will Contreras…..and when one of them aren’t doing it then Yelich likely will. Yelich isn’t as good in the outfield as the young guys but is a far better hitter and he isn’t a liability in the field.

Most of the guys who will be competing for those rotation spots haven’t thrown yet. Gasser threw a scoreless inning and so did Rea.

And 2nd base is a more impactful and difficult position to master ……especially without the shift.

Yeah don’t read too much into this…..Brewers love flexibility……if they are going to keep let’s say 5 outfielders it really helps if one of them can also play the infield in a pinch in case of double switches or the like. I don’t see Sal being a starter at 3rd or 2nd this season.
