  1. Ok looks like Braun will finally admit the obvious......http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2013/08/16/ryan-braun-to-admit-to-using-peds-lying-mlb-biogenesis/2665881/
  2. What have you done for me lately I guess....... maggie haberman ‏@maggiepolitico 3m PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Phillies fire manager Charlie Manuel, replace him with Ryne Sandberg.

  4. Get it all out of the way this year........just hope he can be back for spring training. Not sure I can remember a season like this as far as important/crucial position players missing this many games.
  5. Yeah my guess is umpires will make decisions on basrunners after watching replay. Runners will awarded 1 or 2 bases but never 3. Obviously just a guess on my part but seems reasonable. No system will be perfect and I'm sure they will make adjustments going forward but I think this is a good start.
  6. Bob Nightengale ‏@BNightengale 17m Managers will have 3 challenges in game, 1 in first six innings Expand Bob Nightengale ‏@BNightengale 19m The replay will be a manager call system that will involve 89 percent of reviewable plays and voted on in Nov Expand Reply Retweet Favorite More Bob Nightengale ‏@BNightengale 22m It will be phasing plan to start in 2014 Expand Bob Nightengale ‏@BNightengale 23m MLB plans to move forward where managers now allowed to ask for replay reviews
  7. He has a no trade clause. I know he can waive it and allow a trade but just don't see it happening. Until he restablishes himself this is a non issue. He has a huge contract and would not be welcomed by other teams in the stands or the dugout......
  8. Andrew Gruman ‏@AndrewGruman 57s #Brewers have activated Aramis Ramirez from the DL. Caleb Gindl optioned to Nashville to make room.

  10. Cabrera will win and it won't be close
  11. So who had this lineup down for even one game this year? You don't even have to look at the standings to know how the season has gone...just look at this lineup and it tells you everything you need to know
  12. Anderson has grown on me......I could do without him saying "no stolen base... defensive indifference" every night but other then that I like him. Joe Block on the other hand.......snoozeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  13. What if you were a clean player who didn't want to use drugs to compete with PED users? It doesn't matter if fans care or don't care.....the players and owners have decided they want to enforce these rules so it is being done..... We can argue the penalities but when labor and management are on the same side(The both want PEDs out of the game) the issue has been decided....
  14. Pettitte never failed a test...he just admitted he used http://wahoosam.com/baseball/tweaks-and-changes-can-help-baseball-hall-of-fame-election-process/ How does a voter differentiate between a player like Andy Pettitte, who never failed a test, but admitted to using steroids for a brief time during his career, allegedly to recover from an injury, and a player like Manny Ramirez, who twice was suspended for violation of the policies, the final time for 100 games?
  15. Jamie Samuelsen ‏@JamieSamuelsen 60s Just to repeat from Spring Training. Peralta - "I have never used PEDs. Period. Anybody who says otherwise is lying." today Danny Knobler ‏@DannyKnoblerCBS 9m Peralta statement: "In the spring of 2012, I made a terrible mistake that I deeply regret."
  16. If he were innocent he never would have accepted this deal......he saw the evidence...he gave up any chance to be in the Hall of Fame.....he is now a pariah in the sport he loves....his peers are ripping him in the media....some fans who loved him now hate him Who would accept that if they were innocent? Nobody........ Either way my guess is he will make a statement at some point in the future that will make it clear that he did indeed violate the drug agreement putting all of this back and forth to rest.
  17. Rodgers and Braun were more then Business associates.......All you had to do was see the Wisconsin sports awards to know that.......they were defintely friends...... Grienke weighs in.....http://www.latimes.com/sports/dodgersnow/la-sp-dn-dodgers-zack-greinke-ryan-braun-20130726,0,1333509.story
  18. I agree….but hindsight is always 20-20…did anybody see Gallardo falling off a cliff like he has this year? As I recall Melvin tried to trade Prince once it became clear we couldn't sign him and was so under whelmed with the offers that he decided to keep him and we ended up winning 96 games. I just think its difficult to criticize Melvin without knowing what trades he turned down. I think the much bigger problem has been the lack of impact players(especially pitching) that have been drafted/developed in recent years. Imo trading Lohse/Gallardo right now (for a good enough offer) isn't comparable to trading Segura right now.
  19. Maybe we should trade Segura now since his value is probably at its peak?
  20. Gallardo continues to show why scouts now view him as a 4/5 starter……getting hammered by the Padres…..
  21. I can only speak for me...I never blasted ESPN....obviously when a process is supposed to be confidential it is disappointing when it is not but I blame the leaker not ESPN for that. Certainly he could have used before 2011.....at this point it is impossible to know what to believe....even if Braun gives an explanation can we know if he is now telling the truth after lying for years? What if he comes out and says "I only starting using in 2011 to recover from injury" and then more evidence surfaces that he started using earlier? Can they punish him again?

  23. Haudricourt said there was no deal……..They showed Braun the evidence…..he went home(Bereavement list?)…talked it over and then asked for another meeting to accept the suspension that was offered.
