  1. They have better options in the minors but they see value in taking it slow with guys like Helwig and Nelson. Starting Hand confirms what we already know....management has given up on the season.
  2. Quite possibly the worst game of the year and it has to go into extra innings? lol fitting for the fans of these 2 teams......
  3. If their was any justice this game would end in a tie since neither team deserves to win it.....man has this been ugly.....
  4. Well Lohse falls asleep and gives them a run by allowing Altuve to steal 3rd without a throw......team seems to be going through the motions which is sad in June
  5. So you don't believe in capitalism? Who gets to determine what a real job is? When you are among the best in the world at almost anything you get paid lots of money...... Entertainment the last time I looked is a real job. You live in a city that is mostly entertainment are those not real jobs in Las Vegas also? I don't believe baseball players are grossly overpaid they are paid what the market dictates that they are to be paid. I don't see how it is undeserved as he has worked rather hard to get the salary he is making. to you it might be but to me its not. athletes do not deserve to make more money than people who actually contribute to society like doctors, teachers, cops, firefighters, etc. i don't think that alex rodriguez deserves a $30 million salary. sorry but its just my opinion. ballplayers do not make contributions to society. they do not have the same impact on a person's life that a doctor, soldier, or teacher does. hell i don't think anyone should be making such gross amounts of money. what talent is so great that requires $30 million a year? i just think its a gross waste of money that could be spent on better things. i'm going to end the discussion here because it's starting to go off-topic. if you want we can continue to discuss this on another board. i didn't intend to hijack the thread lol.
  6. Quality start for Thornburg tonight. 7 innings 2 runs 6 ks 89 pitches
  7. All star break seems to be the new target........sigh http://www.620wtmj.com/sports/milwaukee-brewers/211381331.html
  8. Interesting first inning for Jimmy Nelson tonight.....3 walks and 3 strike outs....no runs......
  9. Segura just continues to impress.....a home run and a 415 foot out......
  10. Isn't it about time to try anybody other then Peralta? I mean you really can't pitch much worse then he has and keep a job in the big leagues. I've never seen a guy throw as hard as he does and givs up more rockets......he has to find an off speed pitch that is reliable because what he is doing isn't working.
  11. Another HR for Morris....sure would be nice to see him at first instead of Francisco but I'm sure they have their reasons.
  12. Braun is hitting a bunch of weak ground balls. Hitting 191 with no home runs the last 2 weeks....it's almost like his thumb hurts or something......maybe they should let it heal?
  13. 1 st and 3rd nobody out and can't score......beat goes on. Yo pitching great today 1-1 through 5.
  14. We have a major league pitching coach? Who knew?
  15. I believe they plan on starting Thornburg not pitching him in long relief....... or maybe they have no idea what they are going to do... Adam McCalvy ‏@AdamMcCalvy 3m Details coming to the site, but Thornburg will go to the bullpen today & won't necessarily start Sat. Could be a 'bullpen game' instead.
  16. 0-7 6.75 era and 1.75 whip http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/210241911.html
  17. Those aren't my facts.....That was from Haudricourts article. You are basically repeating Brauns argument.....He tested positive.....his argument was that the sample could have been tampered with....that doesn't mean it was....He basically accused the collector of tampering in his statement during spring training.....at least that is how I recall it. I don't have the energy to go back through this again...... With appeals this will probably drag into next year....again.....what a joy.
  18. Gonzalez has been pitching great but I think it speaks to how bad our pitching staff has been when a lefty specialist is your pitcher of the month.....
  19. How about a little good news....? RT @huntsvillestars: Tremendous outing for @HuntsvilleStars RHP Taylor Jungmann: 7 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 5 K, 3 BB (retired his last 10 straight).
  20. Das didn't exactly exonerate him....it was a chain of custody ruling. He never said he didn't test positive. Ban substance could have been a masking agent to hide a PED...... Das ruled in Braun's favor because of a chain-of-custody dispute that occurred after his urine sample was taken during an early October drug test. People familiar with the details said the sample was not dropped off that day at FedEx to be sent to the MLB testing lab in Montreal because the collector thought it was too late and the shipping company was closed. Instead, the collector kept the sample, and perhaps others, refrigerated at home for two days before making the shipment. Though the seals on the samples were unbroken upon arriving at the lab, that lapse in protocol became the crux of the hearing in which Braun's side contested the validity of the test itself. The MLB drug policy states that "absent unusual circumstances, the specimens should be sent by FedEx to the laboratory on the same day they are collected." The policy goes on to say, "If the specimen is not immediately prepared for shipment, the collector shall ensure that it is appropriately safeguarded during temporary storage. The collector must keep the chain of custody intact. The collector must store the samples in a cool and secure location."
  21. Its just amazing how many rockets our entire starting staff gives up day after day....even most of the outs are smoked.....
