The sad part is it's not like we are banging the ball all over the place and just getting unlucky. This crappy pitcher is dominating us.........How pathetic is that?
first time through the order and nobody has even hit the ball hard........... Which one of the announcers said before the game that the Brewers offensive struggles were over? Was it Nelson or Rock?
Ok first off I'm not one of those guys that wants to blame the coach every time a pitcher struggles but I think the question needs to be asked. How much responsibility does the pitching coach have to "fix guys" who have fallen into bad habits? Ax has struggled with his command all year. His walks are up from one walk every 3 innings to over 1 walk every 2. Wolf has struggled with his command as well. Now maybe with him it's just age catching up with him but his velocity seems similar to last year. Ditto for KROD Gallardo had 59 walks in 207 innings last year. This year prior to today he had walked 32 in 70. I mean shouldn't a big part of a pitching coaches job be to diagnose problems and help a pitcher fix them? The Brewers team whip this year is 1.40...last year it was 1.24. Now I know Saito and Hawkins are gone but nearly everyone who has returned(other then Greinke and Loe) are worse and this is in a year that pitching is dominating.
4-4 now on this homestand against Pirates, Cubs and Padres....... Coming off of the sweep of the Dodgers we really needed to take care of business at home to close the gap on the Reds. Against this quality of opposition....6-3 or even 7-2 would have been a nice start to turning this season around.
Maybe RRR doesn't know what Conrad is hitting as a lefty? I mean he had Green on deck and then when Maldanado made an out he pulled him back in favor of Conrad. It's like he is flipping a coin or something.
Line drive to center with 1 out and Gomez dived for a ball hit right at him...came up short and it went all the way to the wall for an easy inside the park job. No reason to dive in that situation.
You know its one thing to lose...it's another to get embarrassed by an 18-36 team at home with your opening day starter on the mound. Just going through the motions.........
Isn't this supposed to be the easy part of the schedule when we get back into the race? Seems it doesn't matter who we play....we stink against pretty much everybody other then the Dodgers. Dempster dominating as usual......
