  1. When looking at Bianchi's stats from the last few years, you have to remember that he was drafted out of high school. So while he spent a few years in A-ball putting up modest - and OBP poor - numbers, he was pretty young and actually hit .315/.356/.441 in a half-season of AAA as a 22 year old back in '09. Given that he lost all of last year for development time, he's not in bad shape as far as 25 year olds who have yet to see AAA. He'll get next year to (hopefully) prove he can hit PCL pitching and progress in his plate discipline. No downside pickup, really. He fills an organizational need and has a pretty decent chance to contribute in Milwaukee.
  2. Bianchi can play the middle infield and has decent speed. So, no.
  3. In the 2010 Prospect Handbook, BA stated this about Bianchi, then the Royals #11 prospect: He's had a slew of injuries, as noted.
  4. "What was it about Milwaukee that made you want to come here?" MLB radio job?
  5. I'd have to think about the albums, but the best song from this year is:
  6. If the Brewers don't want to trade Morgan or Gomez, they could always trade the rights to Aoki, or perform a sign-and-trade type deal.
  7. We have no timetable for the next Power 50. Neither Eric (battlekow) nor I have had the time for it to this point (obviously), and that will continue to be the case for the foreseeable future.
  8. Don't think Peralta would be enough for the Padres. They don't have to trade Rizzo (or Alonso).
  9. This is incorrect. He was not "caught" anymore than a suspected whomever is arrested by the Milwaukee PD on suspicion of whatever. It has to be proven in court. He apparently failed 50% of his drug test this time, and last I knew, a test that is made inconclusive when a subsequent test is negative. Vilify all you want, I'll stand behind him
  10. Exactly. This is looking more and more like it is just horrible journalism by ESPN, out to sensationalize something that should have never come to light. There has been no suspension. The 2nd test was negative. Where did you guys see this? Everything I have read on ESPN says that he tested positive for a PED, which Braun's camp has also confirmed. I haven't seen anything in the articles to suggest that ESPN has been "reaching" on this story. In order to be "caught" one has to be in trouble with the authority. MLB is silent on the issue. It's just a rumor mill at this point, and I fear defaming on Braun.
  11. Again, Braun was never "caught for PEDs." A set of ESPN reporters reported that he failed a test. MLB doesn't suspend him, he hasn't been caught.
  12. Braun went to the extent of violating Brewerfan message board code of conduct to say he's innocent. He's innocent.
  13. I'd like to think that, collectively, we'd have faith in the good parts of our players, not the bad parts.
  14. I was coming here to point out that a JS commenter said "Let's just get rid of him" but then...
  15. I disagree with the notion that even if Braun is vindicated, he will still be inextricably linked to steroids. My gut reaction is that a few someones will be fired from ESPN in the coming weeks as a result of this. Like xisxisxis astutely pointed out, no PED case has ever been overturned because the positive results that were contested successfully never saw the light of day. I'm willing to believe a couple reporters at ESPN sniffed this out somehow and decided to make a news story out of it. I'm also willing to believe that Braun screwed the pooch. I'm just not willing to accept Braun's alleged pooch screwing as actual, in fact pooch screwing. We'll see. I blame Yadier Molina, who is a supreme douche hammer. He probably got McGwire to pee in Braun's cup after a night out with Dan McLaughlin.
  16. Braun hasn't been a terrible outfielder since maybe his first year, IMO. He takes much better routes than he used to, especially side to side as someone else mentioned. And he's physically gifted enough to recover on balls in the OF he couldn't recover on at third base. His arm is good, too. Best in the NL? No, but not worth ragging on either.
  17. If there were a reason the Brewers would make a strong push for Reyes, it's that Attanasio would like to make a NY-market type splash with a free agent. And what better free agent to do that with than a guy who was just playing in New York?
  18. Here is the complete list of teams Olney mentions that could be a "good fit" for Sizemore: RangersNationalsBrewersRaysYankeesRed SoxGiantsRedsPhilliesIn his insider piece, Olney made it pretty clear he was just speculating. That's all.
  19. Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley of CZW and ROH fame) and CM Punk wrestled each other recently at an FCW show... would love to be able to see the whole thing. Or to have been there. Link. Ambrose and Seth Rollins (Tyler Black from ROH) had an absolutely amazing 30 minute time limit match as well, a few weeks ago. I was never a CZW guy - too violent for the sake of being violent - and Moxley wasn't in ROH very long IIRC, but I'm becoming a huge fan.
  20. Where was Gus Gandarillas born?
  21. That ESPN piece on Hall was hard to watch, just heartbreaking. Hall stated that he should have died 100 times by now, and looking at him, I'd say that's about right. Hopefully this story can have some sort of happy resolution.
