Chad has an extra tall, great frame and showed outstanding coordination on the mound for a pitcher his size. He threw downhill and repeated his delivery well with his fastball sitting 90-94 at the Metrodome. He maintained his velo throughout the outing including from the stretch and his fastball showed good armside run. Thompson showed solid offspeed pitches to go with his explosive fastball. Good action and feel on his splitter. Chad really impressed at the National Showcase as one of the top pitchers in the 2009 class. Highest level pitching prospect. ROUND 29: David Lucroy - RHP 6'2", 202, R/R, Umatilla High School (Florida) http://www.perfectgame.org/images/profilepics/10natc21.jpg (Perfect Game USA)SCOUTING REPORT: (courtesy Perfect Game USA) David Lucroy is a RHP with a 6-2 198 lb. frame from Umatilla, FL. Strong athletic build. Simple turn and throw delivery, stays balanced and on line, 3/4's release point, works quickly. 86-88 mph fastball, touched 89 mph, flat running action on fastball, pounds strike zone early in count. Soft curveball with big break for strikes, slows noticeably on change up. Primary fastball pitcher, relies on command/aggressiveness. Verbal commitment to East Carolina. OTHER SCOUTING REPORTS: MLB.com scouting videoNOTES & INFO: Born 9/3/1992Brother of Brewers catcher Jonathan LucroyCommitment to East Carolina NEWSPAPER AND WEB COVERAGE: "We have to weigh all of our options and see what he wants to do," Jonathan said. "He's going to have to be patient. It's a tough call. It's an education, college. I didn't have to worry about this situation when I came out of high school, so it's kind of uncharted territory [for the family]. It's going to be pretty interesting."

ROUND 23: Ben McMahan - C 6'0", 201, R/R, University of Florida http://www.gatorzone.com/guides/baseball/images/sections/season_info/Bios/mcmahan/85-Ben-McMahan.jpg (GatorZone)SCOUTING REPORT: (courtesy Perfect Game USA, 2007) Ben McMahan is a C with a 6'0'', 192 lb. frame from Windermere, FL. He has a solid present build with some strength and maturity. He has good catching tools and is a quiet receiver with strong hands and good balance. McMahan threw a very strong 80 mph in drills and had a best pop time of 1.92 in game situations, not in drills. He tended to be inconsistent in his overall defensive approach and looked best when he was keeping things simple and not trying to do too much. Offensively, McMahan hits out of a spread, balanced stance with busy hands to start his swing and some wrapping action. He has strong hands and gets the bat going pretty well with some bat speed and line drive type of power. McMahan showed the ability to get the bat head to the ball against high velocity pitching, although he tends to get long at times. He has hitting potential, especially for a catcher. McMahan is an outstanding student. OTHER SCOUTING REPORTS: Baseball America scouting reportNOTES & INFO: Born 10/14/1989 NEWSPAPER AND WEB COVERAGE: University of Florida player profile

ROUND 24: Michael Palazzone - RHP 6'2", 190, R/R, University of Georgia http://images.morris.com/images/athens/mdControlled/cms/2011/04/28/821485664.jpg (David Manning, Athens Banner-Herald)SCOUTING REPORT: (courtesy Perfect Game USA) Palazzone was picked in the 18th round by the Braves in 2008, just one round after the Braves took Pope. Though they play on rival college teams, Palazzone and Pope were teammates on the same East Cobb youth teams during their high-school years. Palazzone has recovered sufficiently from both Tommy John surgery in the past and the meltdown by Georgia’s entire pitching staff in 2010 to become one of the top starters in the Southeastern Conference this season. He was 8-2, 2.15 through his first 12 starts. With Palazzone’s best pitch being a changeup, he may lack the true power pitch to propel him into the top 3-5 rounds, but his three-pitch arsenal, command and maturity should easily land him in the first 10 rounds. Plays both shortstop and outfield, has improved his actions at shortstop, short quick low release on throws, has range, light on his feet, hands are softening up, centerfield an obvious fallback position. Excellent student. OTHER SCOUTING REPORTS: NOTES & INFO: Born 11/24/1992 Commitment to Rice NEWSPAPER AND WEB COVERAGE: McFarland probably to take the summer to think about baseball future

ROUND 19: Renaldo Jenkins - SS 6'0", 190, R/R, Whitewater High School (Georgia) http://media.scout.com/media/image/77/778202.jpg (Scout.com)SCOUTING REPORT: (courtesy UAB head coach Brian Shoop) He is a very good runner, a solid defender in the infield, likes the short game and will be a strong gap-to-gap hitter -- all things that are a part of the way we play here. We believe that when he concentrates on baseball alone, the sky is the limit. OTHER SCOUTING REPORTS: NOTES & INFO: Born 3/1/1993 Commitment to UAB NEWSPAPER AND WEB COVERAGE:

ROUND 15: Andrew Moye - RHP 6'5", 180, R/R, Georgia Southern University http://collegebaseball360.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Andy-Moye.jpeg (College Baseball 360)SCOUTING REPORT: (courtesy Perfect Game USA, 2006) Andy Moye is a right handed pitcher from Alpharetta, Georgia, with a 6'5'', 180 lb. frame. He is a lean and athletic pitcher with a very projectable body. On the mound he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with solid arm speed. Moye has a balanced and online delivery with minimal effort. He has good control of all his pitches, including a sinking fastball that topped out at 86 mph. With his size and arm, we think he will be an easy 90 mph guy in the future. He also mixes in a sharp curveball with depth at 72 mph, and shows a feel for his changeup at 76 mph. Moye is very athletic on the mound, and fields his position. ROUND 16: Carlos Rodon - LHP 6'2", 211, L/L, Holly Springs High School (North Carolina) http://blogs2.citizen-times.com/hshuddle/files/2011/05/Rodon.jpg (Ashville Citizen-Times)SCOUTING REPORT: (courtesy Perfect Game USA) Rodon was one of the most pleasant surprises of the event. He throws from a low effort delivery and was 89-91 mph with his fastball with a sharp upper 70’s curveball. If he can repeat that type of performance in longer outings over the next year, he’ll be a very good draft next June. Fielder's UZR/150 is the second worst in baseball amongst qualified first baseman since the beginning of the 2008 season. Fielder's rank in Plus/Minus runs saved amongst first baseman - 2008: 32; 2009: 24; 2010: 34 (!!); 2011: 25 By your definition, virtually no first baseman would be below average. Also, if you watch him play and seriously think he's average, well... Quadruple, uber-oof. Next.
